Decided to give a new Vietnamese/Cambodian place, La Maison Saigon 54, a go. They're located in Champlain Plaza square. We dropped in on a slow Friday evening (7:30pm). There's two large sections of seating. Our waiter brought us hot tea. The menu is standard; appetizers, chef's recommendations, combos, noodles (pho), rice and vermicelli. Three pho sizes: regular ($13.25), large ($15.25) and x-large ($16.25). The regular is closer to a small. - Deep fried spring rolls ($7.95 for 2) - didn't try but the spring rolls looked tiny. - Herbs - basil, cooked bean sprouts and lime wedges. - Bun bo hue (#19) ($15.25 large) - good variety of meats but unfortunately, they gave us two pieces of beef that had gone bad. First time experiencing that. The broth was disappointing; no depth and lacklustre. A well below average BBH. - Hu tieu bo kho (#29) ($15.75 large) - no carrots which was a complete letdown. The beef pieces were overcooked. Thought we were getting bo kho but this wasn't the case. Broth was plain. - Pho ga (#33) ($13.25 regular) - J asked for his broth to be spicy. Was told his bowl was okay but a tiny portion. No plans to go back to LMS 54. 2.5 stars.

Stopped in for lunch just after 12. We were the only customers and service was quick and friendly. We ordered #16 and 39 to share between the three of us. Delicious!

Tried out this new place in South Van and it didn't disappoint! Really clean and nice ambience. Service was fast! Ordered the Luc lac, perfectly seasoned and portions are very generous. I ordered my egg to be a little over hard but can have it runny depending on your preference. The chicken wings were also great, well-seasoned and perfect with the sauce. Order half if you're alone. The full might be too much for one. The pho was also excellent and the broth was tasty! I'd come back again!

They just opened a week ago, took over from Royal Pho. They did some simple update to the place and it brightened up the interior. The owners are super friendly. I ordered #22 pho so I can share it with my kid. The broth is flavourful but light, not too heavy with msg. There was a generous amount of beef. The spring rolls are delicious. I will come back to try the bun bo hue.

A most stunning tasting experience, I had here at Phnom Penh in Chinatown…read more PP has been on my radar for some time & I finally made it here. PP has been going strong since 1985 - not an easy achievement in the restaurant industry. PP has that older type restaurant feel inside, but it is very lively as waiters fly by with orders to deliver to tables. Yelpies, order these three items & the say less while you wait for them. Butter Beef (Thinly sliced rare beef) Garlic Wings (heavy on the garlic - FYI) Filet Beef Luc Lac (Tender stir-fried beef) I had a Vietnamese coffee, but it was lame. I've had better elsewhere. The taste of these dishes is orgasmic. I didn't notice nor feel a high sodium content but perhaps maybe a hint of MSG. Regardless, there's a reason why PP has won several awards year after year, including the prestigious - Michelin. Get here ASAP & find out why PP continues to impress foody lovers from everywhere. Warning, this whole area is certified - pure ghetto. Bring your car down here at your own inconvenience. Take transit or uber to get here. Zombies are everywhere. A weird side note - it appears GoDaddy hijacked PPs website. Use IG or Open Table reservations for reference & menu options.

The chicken wings should be called crack wings HIGHLY addictive. The deep-fried squid is prepared the same way as the chicken wings, and the calamari was amazingly tender. The Butter beef was simply fantastic, with flavors that balanced sweetness and saltiness perfectly, topped with delicious accompaniments. I wish the pea shoots had a bit more flavor, but they were cooked just right tender with a satisfying crunch, not overdone. Overall I give this experience 5/5!!

Been visiting this restaurant with a friend twice already. Pho Khanh has variety to choose from…read morerice, noodle, vegetarian, appies and drinks. Even if someone is not good in English, the menu is written in Chinese and Korean next to English descriptions. Depending on your appetite their noodles come in small, large and x-large sizes. My friend ordered 6 Beef Brisket noodle (small $15.95) while I ordered 64 Grilled Chicken and Spring Roll with Vermicelli ($18.95). The size was just about right for Pho. Mine was big. It had plentiful of veggies with freshly cooked spring rolls and meat. Noodles weren't too mushy. I somehow felt fish sauce was too little for my food. Later I called the server to request for more fish sauce. He started talking to me in Korean even though I didn't have communication issue in English. Anyways service was great. Food was fantastic. I'd warn ventilation system wasn't great so you might pick up food odour on your clothes. I felt cold sitting in the restaurant as the door was swung open for that reason. They get busy during lunch hours.

Pho nowadays are getting pricey though, at $18 for a bowl of large pho. The large size was filling and they weren't stingy with the toppings. The broth was standard, didn't stand out either way. The spring rolls was deepfried, oily, and bland so I wouldn't recommend. It was an OK place for a pho fix.
