Lobster tacos and lobster roll with 50% more meat!
Vivian L.

A really perfect day topped off with a delicious lobster roll! The lobster meat was fresh and not overdressed with mayo like other places serve them. The roll was buttery and the pickle was a nice crunchy addition. Service was friendly and the order was ready within 10 minutes of ordering. There is seating outside and limited seating inside. Ambiance was great as we were right by the waters and the beach! Would highly recommend this place to any lobster lover!

Great beachside lobster shack. For a beachside lobster spot, some tasty sandwiches. We loved the spicy lobster rolls, just perfect!!

This was my 1st lobster roll and it tasted amazing. The only reason it is gettin 4 stars is because I wish the portions were bigger . I ate it and still wanted more . That in itself is a good indicator that the roll was delicious. For beach goers, this is the perfect spot for quick lunch before you head to the beach or a nice roll to take with you on your drive home. I loved the mixture of Mayo and celery. It paired well with the juicy lobster. The customer service was good and the employees were helpful in answering all my questions and even recommended this roll as one of the favorites!

Great lobster rolls for a quick snack while in Cape May. This spot is right on the boardwalk and conveniently has some tables and chairs where you can lounge while eating. We got the classic and tangy. Both were good, but preferred the classic roll. Light yet filling. Workers were nice and service was at a moderate pace -- equal to most of the service in Cape May.

Excellence service & food

We did a yelp search for dinner places while visiting Cape May, NJ and La La Lobster had better reviews than many of the other places. It's definitely a casual restaurant with outstanding quality food, and super fast service. We loved the first round of lobster rolls, so we went for seconds. My teenage kids were so happy to find authentic Jersey Shore Lobster Rolls. We will definitely return the next time we are in Cape May. Bonus Tip - Pay a few dollars extra for 50% more lobster. We tried the #1 with butter and #2 with salad / celery, both were excellent, but out favorite was the "salad" Lobster Roll.

Getting a lobster roll was a must on our trip to Cape May - I had never had one before, and this was the place to break that streak! We found La La Lobster through Yelp and Google Reviews, and given its proximity and great reviews, we gave it a try. It's located right off the beach in a little strip with a few other stores / restaurants. They have a fairly small sign, so you might miss it if you didn't know it was there! There are a few tables / chairs to sit in right by the storefront, but also ample seating around the bend of the small shopping strip. We stopped by for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and we were pleased to find no line. The menu actually has a lot of options, which I wasn't expecting for a lobster roll spot, but nice to have the variety. I was intrigued by their various lobster preparations, and I wasn't anticipating having options for "sauces". Not being a huge fan of mayo, I went for the mango prep of my roll, and it was so delicious! It really brought out the freshness of the lobster, and it was nice to have a sweet pairing that still seasonal and had a hint of spice to it with the peppers. The lobster itself was nicely cooked, and it was all enclosed in a heavily buttered (appropriately so) roll. I was definitely impressed with it, and it was a great first experience! My husband got the spicy take on the lobster roll, which he also enjoyed! Of course, prices are steep for lobster, but I felt it was a fair deal for the amount of meat on our roll, the unique sauces, and the accompanying chips. La La Lobster was a great intro to lobster roll for me, and it was a great late lunch / early dinner! Would definitely recommend La La Lobster for anyone looking for a quick, quality, summery meal!

Ask the Community - La La Lobster - Cape May

How far in advance is the lobster cooked and the meat extracted? (Is the lobster fresh or frozen?) It certainly wasn't at the time of purchase, or the service would have been much slower.

Do not know the answers. My question is did you eat the lobster and did you like it? If yes, then processing really doesn't matter. I know I'll be back this week.

Hi are you dog-friendly?

There is outside seating, and there is a pet store across the way. Happy eating and shopping.

It was quite chilly while we visited Cape May so we really wanted to sit inside. First, the positive: The place is clean and the staff is nice. The Lobster Roll is delicious and the Shrimp Cesar Salad tasted good, but this is also where it goes bad. It is a huge salad and only had 3 shrimp. The cost of the salad is the same as the Lobster Roll. There is no way a salad should cost 26.99 and only have 3 shrimp. A pound of shrimp market value is approximately $25.99 depending on size & location. When it was expressed to our server, she quoted market price increases and that we could order more shrimp at an upcharge. If market price for shrimp is that bad, take it off the menu or offer alternatives like adding chicken that won't result in an upcharge or advise your customers upon ordering that they'd only get 3 shrimp. Hubs probably would have ordered something else. It's Cape May Fish Market so they should be upfront about their seafood. I didn't really care for the fact that we asked about it and were brushed off. While we'll definitely return to Cape May, we may not return here. .

The vibes are quaint with a very small indoor dining room and an outdoor patio that's a bit larger. I'm really glad we requested a table outside, because the patio was so nice on a warm summer evening. What we ate -- started things off with mozzarella and heirloom tomato salad (on special) and kale cesar. All produce is sourced locally from Beach Plum Farm and both dishes were fab. For our main we shared crab cakes and scallops. Both were so fresh and came with a large portion. Every entree comes with brown rice and house cabbage slaw. Reviews will mention that this is pretty plain, but with the fresh seafood and dipping sauces it's really the perfect accompaniment. The scallops came with a delicious sweet ginger sauce and the crab cakes came with a creamy lemony tartar sauce. The decor is fun and kitschy and the inflatable whale in the bathroom tub made me laugh. Don't forget to grab a chocolate bar at the Louisa's chocolate shop which is adjacent to the restaurant. I'll be thinking about this meal for a while.

Lobster rolls here are cheap compared to ones in other states especially CA. $19 per roll is pretty good. Each roll is pretty small you can say like average size pretty much just like everywhere else with this economy (all lobster rolls shrunk after Covid). They are generous with the chunks of lobster though and it's so juicy and fresh! I also ordered the lobster bisque and that was great too. Bisque had lots of big chunks of lobster and it was creamy how I like it. The fries were big slices of fries and also fresh and yummy. The only thing I can say I wasn't happy about was no Tabasco no hot sauce of any kind! What???!!! I love my Tabasco with all my seafood and it was a disappointment to not be able to enjoy my seafood the way I always do.

You want really, really, really, really good lobster rolls???? Here it is!…read more Prior to visiting Cape May, I did a little research on the food scene and Quincy's immediately came up. At first, we were targeting their Washington Street Mall location, but we realized it wasn't their original spot as the original location was on Beach Ave, just a few blocks away. With Washington Street Mall being so busy and packed, we figured we'd give the original location a try instead since it was away from the buzz of the Mall area. This location was right across from the Cape May convention center, but the strip that the shop was part of was pretty dingy. The tables and chairs outside were all very dirty so make sure to give them a good wipe down first. When we arrived for an early dinner at 5PM on the Friday before Labor Day, we were surprised to see quite a few families sitting at the outdoor tables. How could that be???? It was ONLY 5PM! Luckily, they all finished quickly and we were able to snag a table outside. But there were other tables belonging to other establishments there that were free though. This location of Quincy's was as no frills as it got. It was slightly bigger than a hole in the wall with no indoor seating what so ever. All of the tables and seats were outside and there were only a few. After taking a gander at the menu, we ordered 1 Classic Roll, 1 Connecticut Roll, 1 Lobster Mac and Cheese and 1 Lobster Bisque. Let me just say, I haven't had a lobster roll in a longgggg time, but it was well worth the wait and more. All of the lobster in the rolls were so fresh and delicious. I easily could have eaten 3 of them by myself, but, unfortunately I only had 1. The Lobster Bisque and Lobster Mac & Cheese were very good too, but the Lobster rolls definitely had me wanting much, much more. One thing to note when dining outside is BEWARE OF THE SEAGULLS. Yes, they love lobster too (who or what doesn't????) and they will occasionally fly and land in the vicinity looking for food, so just keep a close eye on your food. As for parking, unfortunately, it's all street parking as Quincy's doesn't have a lot like so many of the Beach Ave establishments. However, if you decide to walk away from the Mall area, Quincy's is an excellent option.

After finally finding a space, we walked up to Mad Batter, where there were already a number of people standing outside. We were a party of seven, so this wasn't looking good for us. Well, we had a Thanksgiving miracle. They had a table ready for us in less that ten minutes! The food and service here were both very good. I had the crab cake sandwich. It was very mild in flavor but still good. I recommend it, but I'll try some of their other offerings before I get it again. My sister-in-law had one of the specials, the Fried Tomato & Cracked Black Pepper Bacon Sandwich. She and my brother agreed that it was messy but delicious. The lobster mayo set it off nicely. Our server was really friendly and accommodating. She made sure we were taken well care of. We pointed out an error in the check, and she was very kind in taking care of it, and gave no attitude. I ordered the harvest salad with candied walnuts. I have no idea what candied walnuts are, so I wish the waiter asked if I had any allergies because they can SOMETIMES contain cinnamon in it and I am allergic to cinnamon. When the salad came out I started to eat the salad and noticed my throat starting to feel funny. I didn't mix the salad well so I just ate the arugula with the sauce and the chicken. Half way through I noticed there were walnuts and I took a bite of it and my throat immediately started to swell and I can feel my face and tongue getting itchy. Thank god I have my allergy medications on me, but what if the next person this happens to doesn't... We immediately told the server about my cinnamon allergy and the waiter looked at me like I was joking because I ate half of it and then asked me "So you're done with that?" and I said, "Yes I can't eat it anymore, I'm allergic to it and it's contaminated with everything else. I felt my throat starting to close up, but I am okay because I have my allergy medicine. " He asked if I wanted anything else and I said no just a hot tea to help with inflammation. I appreciate that the server was trying to help us out, but he still came back with the bill and said the owner is still going to charge me because it says candied walnuts on the menu, implying that it's my fault...I really expected this place to have better service, but looking at past reviews I can see how this place has overpriced underrated food and terrible service. They don't care about their customers and certainly just focused on making money. Hopefully after today they include that their candied walnuts have cinnamon in it! Or at the very least ask the customers if they have any allergies beforehand

For us, the biggest priority is finding truly good gluten-free food, so we can't always afford to be super picky...but this place really delivers. That said, yes... some of the front desk ladies can be a bit not-so-friendly, which isn't ideal. But beyond that, everything else has always been amazing. The food is incredible, and a huge win is that they can make certain dishes gluten-free...and actually safe for people with celiac. They're very careful about cross-contamination, and the GF dishes still taste amazing. It's BYOB (love that), and the liquor store is conveniently right down the block. Parking can be tough, so we always just park in the ACME lot next door. It's super convenient even though it costs around $10-$15 when you're there for over an hour. The servers are kind, the ambiance is lovely...not overly fancy, but absolutely nice enough for a quality "get dressed up a bit" date night. I usually wear a dress when we go. I believe there's a cancellation fee, so definitely make a reservation, but it's worth it. Also, I saw someone complain that the staff "knows nothing about wine." It's BYOB. They only serve one in-house wine. This isn't that ultra-posh, high-end wine-service kind of place, and that's totally fine. They do what they do extremely well!
