March 18, 2022 @7:50 pm. My experience was horrible Please do not support this establishment. Never in my life have I felt so disrespected. First I was in Dover Delaware for business. I came to this place as it was recommended by my hotel agent where I stayed. When I arrived, I waited in front of the make shift wait station for someone to arrive. I was the first and only person in line. then another patron entered the building with her young son. At this time a host came over stood directly in front of me and asked who is next, she looked over my shoulder grab two menu's and escorted the White American lady and her son to a table. Im in shock now. I was under the assumption first come first serve. I watched her escort, seated and begin to take there order. Then another person came over and asked have I been helped. I told the next host what had just happened. I then asked for an manager, I was told he was busy. At this point I am officially done. Then a man stood in front of me and stated he was the manager. I proceed to tell him of what had happened. His response was it is busy maybe she did not see you. I told him I was standing face to face with the host how can she not see an 190lb. Black male. The manager then ask, well, do I still want to order. I asked him, Is someone else I can speak to or an number call, he then told me he was the Owner. But, I thought you were the supervisor/manager. I am in disbelief at this point. I stated to him, is this how you treat your customers, and he actually told me yes this how he treats his customer. I'm gonna assume just African American Customers. PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT! I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS BUT YELP WOULD NOT ALLOW ME. read more

This should be the only review you read: If you want an authentic Mexican food experience, don't go here. The service is just fine, the ambiance is so-so, but this is a FOOD review and the food here is just bad. We got the chimichangas and they were nasty. The chicken inside was waterlogged, almost like they used canned chicken or something. The flavors were so bland. To make matters worse, the cheese on top was clearly orange cheese whiz from a jar. Now cheese whiz at home is one thing, but at a Mexican restaurant? All bad. My boyfriend ordered a side of mole to try to add flavor (we love mole), but before we could even order they urged us to sample it first because, "Some people don't like it". Huge red flag! They were busy when we arrived. Luckily, I made a reservation. Our server was very nice and efficient. I ordered the scorpion margarita and it was very good with a Tajin rim. Yummy! It also came in a shaker that they brought to the table. I also got the pineapple fajitas with shrimp. They were good but they could have been hotter. Recently stumbled upon this restaurant in the Dover area. The restaurant is located in an area that does not have a lot of restaurants in this part of the Dover area. I have seen quite a few restaurants in this exact location over the past several years. A decent restaurant near the Air force Base. This restaurant will likely make it (as opposed to its predecessors). They seem to have a great dinner crowd and the food is good. It is not a 4 or 5 star restaurant. The main reasons are due to staff and drinks. The staff is a hit or a miss. My first visit, the service was so bad that We were almost going to just leave. The waitress brought the appetizers and main courses out at the same time. It was simply a disaster!!!! Our second visit was much better. The waiter was very nice and did a solid job. The drinks are good, however for the price you wouldn't think they would use so much ice in the margarita's. Over half of the glass had ice. This is not good value nor good for a new restaurant in this area. Give your customers value for the dollar being spent. The food is good, but will not knock your socks off. In my most recent visit, I ordered Tilapia with refried beans. It was good, but nothing to write home about. There are better authentic Mexican restaurants in the Dover area and I do not feel that this restaurant (at this point) measures up to their competitors. Non Bon Appetit! read more

I liked it. Very Clean and they have updated a few things from the previous restaurants which were in this location. We came on a Sunday morning right after it opened so didn't have any wait. I had nachos and loved them. My husband had fajaitas and loved them. Server was prompt and friendly. They said there is a wait on weekend evenings. Very fresh!! Highly recommended!! We were simply passing through and wanted lunch. The margaritas looked wonderful and they had a lot of tequila options! But alas, we did not get to try any. I must say the past two time I've been back I'm not sure if it's under new management,but my chips were cold service sucked to be honest servers were slow to busy chatting instead of taken 8 min to bring my waters. Rice portion was disrespectful and over all just did not think it was worth $60 last night. I had to ask for a bag for my food to go my street corn was cold my date asked for flour tortillas an got corn! Have not seen the owners son lately Ceasar but I had to call him immediately because when I also served there it was an absolutely NO an would never of happened on his watch especially the little things!! A Friday night for them usually was most definitely slow so something has definitely changed there but over all they need to tighten up because this is not working an I enjoy coming there after a long day of work to have great service an be able to relax. AMAZING! La Hacienda is amazing! I've been going to the Bay Road location for Taco Tuesday for several months and never disappointed! The wait staff treats you like family. No matter how busy they get, the food is always hot, the order is always right, and the staff is on top of everything. The last several weeks management has even checked on the table which I don't recall from before. I highly recommend La Hacienda for reasonably price family dining. read more

Muy delicioso! Went with 2 small kids and ordered perfect meals for them : chicken quesadilla meal and 1taco meal. The rice is fluffy and flavorful, refried beans were yummy. The chicken was NOT dry or soggy, just perfect flavor and texture. Husband had chorizo tacos, Devine, good portion. The 2 salsas with chips are great. This is your usual Tex mex restaurant. Everything taste the same. For someone who knows Mexican food-this is not. The salsas are watered down and have no flavor or heat. The only thing we like is the corn cake and the elote and that's not enough to visit. read more

I'm sorry I haven't tried this place sooner. Their food is very good! I especially enjoyed the ceviche. They don't skimp on the fish or veggies and it was extremely fresh. Their carnitas enchiladas are also well done. Generously filled, plenty of sauce, and the sauce has just enough of a spicy kick to it where you can still taste the food. Their rice is perfectly cooked. The sopapillas we had for dessert weren't like the traditional pastries, more like fried tortilla strips, but were still very good. Overall, very pleased! I will definitely be ordering from La Hacienda again in the future. read more

My family had takeout from La Hacienda and it was great. The chimichangas were stuffed with chicken, the chips and guac were fresh and delicious, and the selection of sides was hard to choose from. Me gusto mucho. Service is friendly and fast here, and I love that they bring you out chips and dip straight away. Some of the waitstaff seem to be a bit confused by the menu and could do with a crash course in Mexican food, since I need explanations myself sometimes. The lunch specials are exceptional - for as low as 7 bucks you can get a two or three item combo with sides. The corn cake is AMAZEBALLS. Although you technically have a choice of sides with most meals, you really MUST select this one as at least one of them. I've only tried about half the menu so far and my favorites are the crispy tacos and the tostadas. Really great pico de gallo also a bonus. The last time I was here I indulged in a strawberry frutarita - HUGE, and delicious. Like a candy smoothie melting your brain. Delightful. read more

I am so excited that this restaurant is SO close to my home. We will probably be here one a week. Prices are great and food is great. I was surprised how busy it was when we visited last night. My only complaint would be how long it took the server to come to our table to introduce himself and take our drink order. It was about 15min and we had to ask for someone to come over BUT it's completely understandable with NEW staff and being as busy as they were. The food was exceptional and made up for that :-) We started with complimentary chips and salsa...by far the best and most fresh salsa I have had hands down! I ordered the queso dip, also very very good and the cup for $3.99 was more than enough! For my entree I ordered the fajita burrito. It was so yummy! I ordered mine with chicken although it seemed it was a mixture of meats so you may want to clarify that. It came with spanish rice and a side. I chose the Corn Cake....I'm drooling just saying the name :-) You cannot beat all that food for $10.99 and I took half home! The other people in our large party had... the shrimp tacos, great flavor but could use more shrimp... Carnitas, again very good but may have sat a little too long waiting for the other good to be ready as the neat was a little dry. And also the pick three with enchilada, tamal and chili relleno, all of which was spectacular! I hope you all give this place a chance! I live in Dover and was trying to decide what I wanted for lunch . I drove thru town and finally I decided on this place . I'm so glad I did . I ordered the chicken fajita and boy was it tasty . You can tell everything is made to order and can taste the freshness l the service was excellent and they were busy on this Friday afternoon . This must be popular since they were full with military folks eating lunch. Parking is brood, fast service and not to mention great bar . This will now be my go to place when I crave Mexican food . Not good. Just not good or authentic Mexican food. Jesus, I went there yesterday and I thought I was getting poisoned. We ordered a shrimp cocktail, and y'all no lie we got a cold ass shrimp stew ! The shrimp was inside cold sauce, and there was sliced avocado inside the sauce and they just gave us chips to eat it with. Ummmm I thought we ordered a shrimp cocktail ! We had an event catered today for our business and are blown away by the level of service and of course the food. With little notice they were able to accommodate every one of our needs and provide an excellent meal for over 100 of my associates. I like the inside of the restaurant and they have a good size bar. It is very busy, but it doesn't seem crowded. As I said the place is busy, so the service was a little slow. The chips with the free chips and salsa are nothing special, but the verde salsa was great. It is a little spicy though. The menu has all the staple Mexican food options and kids menu is good. We started with the Dip Sampler appetizer. All of the dips were great. I especially loved both cheese dips. My daughter loved the bean dip. I got the beef chimichanga, Mexican rice, and corn cake.
