I finally made it there today, but ended up getting take out, so didn't actually get to eat in the bus after all. The food was ok but overpriced in my opinion. I had the cheeseburger combo ($10.75) which was a cheeseburger, small fries and a can of pop. The cheeseburger was pretty small. However, you can add toppings like fried mushrooms and fried onions for free. I got both those and also lettuce and tomatoes (also free). The burger tasted good, it was just really small. The fries are also a small portion and I felt they were just ok. They smelled really good, but didn't really taste like anything special to me. However, they may have gotten soft during my drive since they were in a covered container. Maybe they were crispier when fresh. I will give this place another chance by eating there next time, so I can taste how the food is when it's freshly made. I like that the bun is plain and doesn't have seeds on it. I got the regular bun, but they also have gluten-free buns. The staff working there were nice. And I had to say the whole double decker bus thing I find really cool.

The Steak Tacos are my absolute fav! I order my steak medium-rare then I add queso fresco, avocado, fire roasted salsa, crema and pickled onions. Did I mention that all toppings are free?! That's right - even cheese and avocado! That's pretty rare to find these days! Also worth mentioning are the Beer Battered Fish Tacos at La Ha. My hubby always orders them because he loves them so much. They're made perfectly every single time. We've also tried their Agua de Sandía and Horchata - both were excellent! If you're in the mood for always fresh and always delicious tacos, you need to check out this place! Note: La Ha Tacos also recently introduced new menu items like their Nachos, Taco Salad and Queso Cheese in case you prefer something other than Tacos.

This food truck is located in a car wash parking lot in Orleans, with not a whole lot of parking. We arrived during lunch, around 11:50. Big mistake, I guess? There were maybe 5 people in line, so we decided to wait it out. It could not be that long right? The hubby waited in line while I waited in the car. It took him about 10 minutes to place his order. I believe it was somewhere around 12:09 where he came back to the car and said it would probably be around 15-20 minutes for the food. I contemplated him driving us back home and then him heading back for the food but we decided to just wait it out in case it was ready earlier than expected. I've never been to this place before, and did not do much research beforehand, but if I knew this place is known for the long wait times, I most likely would have skipped coming here, or just ordered online, which a lot of people were doing. That may have caused a back log of orders. Online orders, telephone orders and in person orders for a small food truck, with 3 people working....that is a lot of pressure, and it kind of screws over the customers placing orders in person. Fast forward to a screaming toddler, a person waiting in their car eyeing me for our parking spot (for 20 minutes...eyeroll), and a very slow food truck, we FINALLY got our tacos at 12:45pm. On to the food...everything is made in house, from the chips to the toppings. All platters come with 3 tacos, side of chips and salsa. You are able to add additional free toppings to your tacos like salsa, cabbage, avocado, ect. I am kicking myself in the butt for not doing so. I ordered the fish tacos, and the hubby ordered the pork. He noted that his pork was pretty dry and wish he added salsa to his tacos. Although, he did say they were good (but again, not wait 45 minutes good). My fish tacos were pretty flavorful, but I ran into the same problem with them being dry. The first taco I found the fish on the drier and chewier side. The other two were fine. It came topped with a crema sauce so that helped a bit.The chips were really good, and addicting. Their salsa that came with the chips was awesome and a pretty nice portion. The tacos itself are about 3 bites. The tacos were good, but waiting 45 minutes at a food truck is inexcusable, and left a sour taste in my mouth. I would not rush back, but this place is not a write off, because the tacos were good. Do yourself a favor and call in your order.

So my husband and I were going to be in Bells Corners running some errands, so I suggested we grab some lunch at Ad Mare. Ad Mare is a food truck that I heard great things about. Once upon a time it was parked in Downtown Ottawa, but since the Covid-19 Pandemic started, it's now parked at the Kichesippi Brewery. There are picnic tables outside, and I believe you can bring their food into the brewery to eat inside if you are drinking at the brewery. We opted to eat in our car (which, for the record, I did long before the Pandemic. Come to think of it, eating in my car, washing my hands ALL THE TIME, not liking it when strangers get too close to me, I was like that before the Pandemic. I never wore a mask though, but truth be told, I see a lot of advantages to mask-wearing, apart from the prevention of respiratory infections, like it shields more of my face from UV radiation #youthfulskinforever, and makes me less recognizable #lovebeingincognito, lol. I am totally digressing here, apologies). Ok, back to the food. I love that it was in a cardboard container (I hate styrofoam) lined with waxed paper. The fries were good chip wagon fries. The coleslaw was oil and vinegar based, which I much prefer over the mayonnaise based ones. It had a significant amount of pepper in it, which I liked, but it made it spicer than I anticipated. We got the 2 piece platter ($13.50) to share and it was more than enough food. The pieces of fish were a good size and like I said at the start of the review, they were delicious. We got tartar sauce and ketchup (not enough ketchup for my liking, but I'm a ketchup fiend with my fries, haha). I waited in the car while my husband bought the food, so can't comment on customer service, but the wait wasn't too long. There's free parking in the brewery parking lot, but not too much of it. We had no problems finding a spot on our rainy autumn visit, but I can imagine on a nice summer day, there may be parking struggles.

A 3 piece could feed a small family for $25. Beware that taxes are extra. The location is right on the brewery patio (beer sold inside) and they will bring it to your table inside or outside. Parking is difficult but the building has always had this problem, being sandwiched between a railroad and a small ravine!

So I was thrilled when I heard that they would be providing the food for one of our work functions. They came on site, so the food was freshly made to order. I had the falafel sandwich and a fattouch salad. The falafels in the sandwich were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. So delicious. It also had tomatoes, radishes, pickles, parsley and tahini, all wrapped in a pita. Easily one of the best falafel I've had in Ottawa. My only complaint is that it was a bit on the small side. Ok for small appetites, but likely too small for average to large appetites, and I definitely fall into the latter category, haha. The fattouch salad had romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, parsley, and radishes, all tossed in an oil and vinegar dressing with sumac. I think they usually have pita chips, but mine didn't have any :( It was a little overdressed for my liking, but I like very little dressing on my salad. Service was relatively quick and was friendly. Not sure when I'll be in their usual neighbourhood next, but when I am, I'll need to grab another falafel sandwich ;)

My mom and I love Middle Eastern pastries, so I stopped by to pick up a few items on my way to my parents house. Some of their items are sold by weight and some by the piece. I got a piece of Shaabiyat (triangle shaped pastry made of phyllo stuffed with custard) for $2. I also got a piece of shredded phyllo Kunafa, a piece of semolina Kunafa, and a piece of cake layered with ashta cream and pistachio nuts. These 3 pastries were $23/kg and it cost me $12.65 for all 3 pieces. The Shaabiyat was quite sweet, but I still enjoy it, while every thing else was perfect for me, so much less sweet than at other bakeries. I loved it! My parents felt the other pastries were not sweet enough for them, but they just poured some of the honey syrup that came with the pastries on it and felt it was perfect. I love how you can control the amount of sweetness. Everything was delicious. I will be coming here for all my Middle Eastern pastries from now on. The lady serving me was very friendly. Part way through, a man came to the front and advised me that the piece of cake I ordered was from yesterday and he can get me a fresh one. Oh yes, please! Also they had some freshly baked Shaabiyat at the back and they would bring that tray out. Nice! I was so thrilled to be getting fresh items (I came on a Saturday morning). The lady also gave me a sample of their baklava while I was waiting. They did not have any Znoud El Sit while I was there, but hopefully next time, as this is my favourite Middle Eastern pastry. I am so glad that I discovered this place! It's in the Plaza on Vanguard at Tenth Line. Same plaza as Li's Fusion, Ali Baba Bakery and Chocolat Favoris. Lots of free parking.
