Marble slab ice cream is objectively worse than regular ice cream. if you're looking for overpriced…read morefad ice cream, the. I suppose this would be adequate. Why am I paying more for ice cream being smashed around on an anti-griddle? No thanks.

I've…read morebought my birthday cake at this Marble Slab Creamery every year for the last 3 years and they've been delicious every time. It's the same man who's served me every single time (I'm pretty sure he's the owner), and he's always looking for feedback on his cakes, and seems so genuinely happy when I tell him how much I love his cakes. And love his cakes, I do. I really like that their ice cream cakes are only ice cream with no actual cake/cookie layer. Some people might not like this, but I love it. I also like that they use real fruit in their cakes. I've had the Hazelnut Heaven cake (the one with the Ferrero Rocher balls on them), the Strawberries and Cream cake, and I made a custom cake. Large cakes are $39.99 taxes included. I signed up for their newsletter and get $10 off any large or slab cake for my birthday ;) The custom cake option is great. You choose an ice cream or frozen yogurt base, and you get 2 mix-ins for the price. Additional mix-ins can be added for $5 each. I got a vanilla frozen yogurt base with real pineapples and real strawberries as my mix-ins. It was so tasty! (I originally wanted the Pina Colada base, but unfortunately they didn't have it). Their specialty though is ice cream with ingredients mixed in, on a marble slab. They have lots of flavour and lots of options for mix-ins. They also have a variety of cones. They also sell ice cream sandwiches. CAA members get 15% off. The store is in a strip mall. The same strip mall as Food Basics, Kardish, and Dollar Tree. Lots of free parking.

I got one of the $7 meal deals, the 3 chicken strips one, which comes with the chicken strips, fries, a sundae and a drink. I upgraded the fries to onion rings for an additional $1.25 and it so wasn't worth it. They gave me so few onion rings. I should have just stuck with fries. Double ugh. I got the pineapple sundae and a Dr. Pepper fountain drink. I also ordered from the 2 for $5 menu and got 2 cheeseburgers for $5. I had a coupon that I got in the mail for a poutine for $2.99 (they are usually $5.49) so I got a poutine too. The chicken strips were really good. They were crispy and the meat was real chicken breast. The onion rings were ok, but like I said, not worth the added cost. They were crispy too. The sundae was good too. The pineapple sauce is not too sweet like the other flavours are. The cheeseburger was ok. The bun did not taste all that fresh to me though. It wasn't stale, but just not as soft and fluffy as I like. Also, the burger did not smell delicious. You know how burgers are supposed to smell tasty? These did not. In fact my car had no food aroma as I was driving back to my parents' place. The poutine was good, but of course the cheese curds had no squeak to them. Gravy was not overly salty, which I appreciated, but wasn't quite hot enough to melt all the cheese curds. Overall, an ok experience. I've had food at Dairy Queen plenty, but it was my parents' first time having something other than ice cream there. They enjoyed it, so I'm happy about that. They did not have to stand in the restaurant for 30 minutes like I did though, lol. This location is in a strip mall. Lots of free parking.

TL;DR: Cute shop in Orleans selling salads, rolled ice cream, crepes and bubble tea. Signature…read moreSalad was good. I enjoyed the sweet salad dressing. I stopped by Sweet n Salad to grab a salad for lunch on the way to my parents' house (they were craving Chinese food, so I grabbed some combos for them elsewhere, but I was looking for something lighter and less greasy for myself, lol). I got the Signature Salad ($15.99), but substituted the pomegranate seeds with cucumbers. The salad comes with mixed greens, quinoa, grape tomatoes, feta cheese, chicken, pumpkin seeds and Italian seasonings sprinkled on top. I asked for the dressing on the side. The default dressing is their Signature dressing, which I can best describe as a light sweet dressing. I loved that it was on the watery side and was neither too oily nor too creamy/rich. I only used about a sixth of it, but saved the rest to use on my own salads ;) The vegetables were for the most part fresh. Although a few of the lettuce pieces were browning. The chicken was lean breast meat cut into cubes. All the salad ingredients are prepped and ready and they just assemble the ingredients when you order it. There are preset salads or you can create your own with the ingredients they have. Overall the salad was tasty and the portion size was good. The price was a bit high in my opinion, but everything seems to be expensive these days. It's definitely convenient, and there aren't many places in Orleans to get quick meals that aren't greasy or deep-fried, lol. It's one of the healthier options. I'm looking forward to bringing my nieces here to try their rolled ice cream. The restaurant has some seats to dine in, but there's no table service. You order, they assemble your food, you pay, and if you want to eat in, you seat yourself and cleanup after yourself. There are a few tables outside in front of the restaurant too if you want to eat outdoors. The restaurant is in a plaza so there's lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot. (140)
