Oh my gosh! The best pizza I've ever had! The crust was thin with the right amount of toppings. I had the sundried tomatoes and pesto pizza. It was absolutely amazing! My hubby has the sausage and mushroom pizza. He wasn't sure if he would like it. He's the guy who likes a lot of toppings. He enjoyed his pizza as well. I decided to eat at La Gallina Bianca on my first night in Rome during my May 2024 trip, as it was only a short walk from my hotel. Being tired after a long day of travel and arriving in the city later into the evening, I wanted a safe and reliable gluten-free option. The fact they're open until 11 pm was also quite useful, with many restaurants nearby closing earlier. The location is good as it's just on a side street, a short walk away from Termini Station. The interior is similar to most restaurants I found in the city, and the staff were friendly, they had good knowledge about gluten-free and could speak English to communicate with me. I ordered a gluten-free Margherita pizza, as I mainly wanted something light and tasty but there was a long wait for the food. They weren't busy at the time I visited, and there was only one other table who were already eating their food at the time which makes me confused at the length of time I had to wait. My food ended up taking a good half an hour or possibly longer to arrive, at this point my guest had received and finished her regular pizza. The staff apologised and mentioned this is because the gluten-free takes longer... but it just seemed way too excessive. I ended up staying beyond the 11 pm closing time and was eating at the same time as the staff members as they were going home. I didn't feel rushed out but I did feel uncomfortable as they had begun to close up and clean and I was just sat there munching away. My pizza was fine, it wasn't the best I had during my trip, but it was nice, given it was late at night and right by my hotel it was a relief. Pricing again was average/competitive. 3* - My experience didn't stand out in general, but the pizza was fine and my dietary needs were catered for. The long wait for food was a huge bummer though and I would be unlikely to return here in the future unless the same situation arose of being tired and staying at the Doubletree nearby. read more

This restaurant was about two blocks away from where I was staying and was recommended by the hotel staff. I enjoyed delicious cacio e pepe pasta and diavola pizza. Both were excellent and my review is only based on the food. Unfortunately, this is one of those restaurants that chooses to charge needless fees that make tourists feel ripped off because they in addition to a food charge also charge an additional fee for service and a per- person fee?!? At the time we entered the restaurant they were half empty. After a few minutes they sat us and then ignored us. The waitress past us multiple times. Even cleared off the table next to us. At first we patiently waited then tried getting her attention. Realized she was completely ignoring us (it was blatantly obvious) so we left. Terrible service!!!! No one came over to offer water or even just to say that it would be a few minutes. After reading reviews to try to understand what we just experienced we learned that they discriminate towards tourist. This restaurant was a 5 minute walk from our hotel. I found it on my Find Me Gluten Free app. They will make everything on the menu gluten free. Pizza crust is a tough one and they nailed it. Stopped in for lunch on a holiday as many businesses were closed; we were happy to have an alter to the hotel restaurant. We were a large group and although it is usually a hassle to get separate checks, the staff was able to accommodate us. I had the pear and Gorgonzola salad. Delicious the dressing was mildly sweet but oh so refreshing. We also tried the Boscailoa pizza which was a nice alternative to the traditional tomato sauce pizzas we usually get at home. As everyone else here they charged us for 20% service which I'M HAPPY to pay for SERVICE. Our bill was 59 Euros and they added 12 Euros as a tip. Again happy to pay 20% for service - server did not give us water, did not check on us, did NOTHING - we were left with empty glasses with no water - wine was below what it usually is poured at restaurants - then they charged us 3€ for bread we never got which we paid -as I hate arguing for stuff-. As many other reviewer's have stated there is a 20% cover charge automatically added to every bill which make some people very upset. As long as you know this ahead of time that's OK. However in Europe this is rare and only because they cater to tourists. You can get the same quality food at a much cheaper price without a cover charge anywhere in the city. read more

I was very disappointed with the service. The owners son needs to start his career doing dishes like everyone else. He looked past my daughter and I who were waiting to be seated and immediately seated a family that just came through the door. When we questioned him - he told us to wait. Then had someone else seat us- while he went behind the counter to smoke his Vape pen - so unprofessional. The older gentleman (Mosafa)was running everywhere- providing wonderful customer service- trying to clean up the Son's mess. I had a hair in my salad and the Son didn't want to remove it from my bill - as if I was untrustworthy- I will never return. Hmmm, where to start... I attended this joke of a restaurant with a group of over 15 people. Like any respectable guests we called well in advance to reserve space for our large group. When we arrived the table was set and all was surprisingly well. That didn't last long. One of the girls found a long piece of hair in her carbonara (not angel hair, looked to be from the angry counter lady). The wine was subpar and the food was a notch above hospital food. My lasagna looked like baby formal thrice blended with day old mozzarella. After a long and painstaking meal, the waiter placed 3 large bottles of water on the table. We knew this was a trap to charge us for them, so we left them untouched. Time to settle up comes around and whattaya know, three extra bottles of water magically slipped onto the bill. We are dumb Americans but not that dumb. Getting scammed out of 9 euros was not on my agenda that day. I explained to the clerk that the 3 waters were left unopened and untouched. The waiter then came running in a panic claiming blasphemy. He cleared the table in a flash and insisted that the three liters had been emptied by our crew of aquatics. We came here just as they were opening and were seated right away. We decided on what we wanted quickly but it took quite some time for our order to reach our table. As it was taking a while, the server brought us bread and as my fiancée asked for butter, he said "there is oil and balsamic" and walked away muttering something in Italian. Seemed a bit weird if you ask me. The food shortly arrived after. I had the lasagna which was good but the onion rings I ordered on the side as an appetizer (which came with the meal) were quite greasy. My fiancée ordered the grilled veggies which were drowned in olive oil and completely saturated. They apply a 20% service charge to the bill which is not worth the quality of service they provide. As we were walking out, we noticed there were some veggies for what appeared to be a buffet which were all drowning in olive oil. Hmm. Alright so far perhaps. I see the service fee is 6 euros bruh wtf is that. Of course the water taste like shit. The cups and fork knife were clean but the plate looked like somebody was already eating in it. While looking around I could see every body in the room which was very unpleasant. The chairs and the decorations make me feel like I'm on a farm. Perhaps I'm picky but do you want to eat in a chicken barn. Have already waited 15 minutes no clue if the food is ready or not. Second night decided to go in for dinner. Ordered pizza and again it was great. Ordered pasta and dessert and was very disappointed. When I stepped to the cashier to pay I saw the 20% service charge. Nowhere in Rome was I charged a tip. We ate at Alessio a much more expensive restaurant right around the corner and was not charged a service (tip) fee. Would not recommend eating in. We ate here on our first day in Rome as it was close to the hotel and recommended by the Fordor's guide. The pizza was pretty good and we really enjoyed it at the time.
