Oh my gosh! The best pizza I've ever had! The crust was thin with the right amount of toppings. I had the sundried tomatoes and pesto pizza. It was absolutely amazing! My hubby has the sausage and mushroom pizza. He wasn't sure if he would like it. He's the guy who likes a lot of toppings. He enjoyed his pizza as well. I will definitely go back when I'm visiting Rome again. The service was exceptional. Greeted and seated as soon as we walked in the door. It a small place and busy. Make a reservation if you can.

I decided to eat at La Gallina Bianca on my first night in Rome during my May 2024 trip, as it was only a short walk from my hotel. Being tired after a long day of travel and arriving in the city later into the evening, I wanted a safe and reliable gluten-free option. The fact they're open until 11 pm was also quite useful, with many restaurants nearby closing earlier. The location is good as it's just on a side street, a short walk away from Termini Station. The interior is similar to most restaurants I found in the city, and the staff were friendly, they had good knowledge about gluten-free and could speak English to communicate with me. I ordered a gluten-free Margherita pizza, as I mainly wanted something light and tasty but there was a long wait for the food. They weren't busy at the time I visited, and there was only one other table who were already eating their food at the time which makes me confused at the length of time I had to wait. My food ended up taking a good half an hour or possibly longer to arrive, at this point my guest had received and finished her regular pizza. The staff apologised and mentioned this is because the gluten-free takes longer... but it just seemed way too excessive. I ended up staying beyond the 11 pm closing time and was eating at the same time as the staff members as they were going home. I didn't feel rushed out but I did feel uncomfortable as they had begun to close up and clean and I was just sat there munching away. My pizza was fine, it wasn't the best I had during my trip, but it was nice, given it was late at night and right by my hotel it was a relief. Pricing again was average/competitive. 3* - My experience didn't stand out in general, but the pizza was fine and my dietary needs were catered for. The long wait for food was a huge bummer though and I would be unlikely to return here in the future unless the same situation arose of being tired and staying at the Doubletree nearby.

This restaurant was about two blocks away from where I was staying and was recommended by the hotel staff. I enjoyed delicious cacio e pepe pasta and diavola pizza. Both were excellent and my review is only based on the food. Unfortunately, this is one of those restaurants that chooses to charge needless fees that make tourists feel ripped off because they in addition to a food charge also charge an additional fee for service and a per- person fee?!? If unnecessary charges on your bill make you angry then do yourself a favor by not eating here.

Massive Tourist TRAP! and SCAM! This place: 1) charge a 20% service fee, 2) charged for Tap Water and 3) charged coperto (which is also a service fee) And I didn't even get bread! Even in the United States all charges are listed in the menu, so my fellow Americans if you still decide to go here you go here make sure, you ask them about the fees.

My family and I had just arrived into Rome around lunchtime and were starving and stumbled across this place near our hotel. It was wonderful! The bread was tasty, along with the prosciutto and ham appetizer, which was a nice and light starter with good flavor. I got the La Classica Carbonara which was very good. Definitely would recommend for an awesome casual lunch spot.

Good restaurant. From out of town and was 1st pizza we had. Thought service was good and prompt. Thought food was very good but not great for being in Rome. Would eat there again

The service was good. Our server Michael was very attentive, but my steak was not so tender. The atmosphere was very much like home.

Although the pizza is good, the service fee is 6 euro, which is the highest fee I got in Italy.

I am not sure what the building was, must've been a theater of some sort. It looked like a pantheon and was nicely illuminated. We didn't actually have any food just gelato. The waitress who was taking care of the tables outside pointed to a specific table where we could sit it to have the ice cream. I felt like she was doing me a favor by allowing me to sit there, She kept coming over to ask us if we needed anything. I had an ice cream and no menu, it was obvious I didn't need anything. I know it was her being rude because I saw her doing the same to another couple who was enjoying ice cream as well. They were not busy, soso it's not like we were hogging up the tables. I didn't appreciate her attitude.

It wasn't expensive and it was in a great location (right across from our hotel). We were waited on fairly quickly. There were quite a few options to choose from. I ended up getting the chicken and chips/fries. It was rotisserie chicken with great seasoning and the fry chips were good too. It came with a little sauce too that was tasty. My friend got a huge steak and fry chips too. She ate every bit of it. The waiter was really nice, he checked on us in between cleaning up and taking orders at the counter. This place isn't what you would typically think to eat while in Rome but it was good for us to break up the food week with something a little different (borderline fast foodish). I would go back to a Johnny Gallo.

We anticipated crowds and a wait, but there was actually no wait at lunch time and there were actually quite a few open tables. That was a bit of a concern at first (because a line and crowd usually means the place is good), but as I saw (and smelled) food coming out my concerns dissipated! Unfortunately our waiter wasn't able to identify another customer's pasta dish for us, but it all worked out in the end because I ended up loving our choices. We got the carbonara, which was cheesy and tasty,...Everything you want a creamy pasta to be! Pasta is al dente, felt so fresh and if you're from America, you're gonna love this because I felt the difference immediately. The meatballs were soft and tasty. We loved the chicory and potatoes! Those potatoes were so good I would choose them over fries (omg so American I know). I got the Mimi's spritz, which tasted like a Aperol spritz. One of my favorite spritz's of the trip! It's true what they say about Italian ingredients, and the price point is great. I tried some of my friend's Italian soda called Chinotto Neri, it's like a cola but less sweet but still tasty and refreshing. Mimi is a dependable pasta spot, with plenty of menu options for pasta and beverages. If I had more time in Rome I would have certainly returned especially given that they have several locations in the city. Highly recommended!

By this point in our trip we've gotten decent in ordering food in Italian so he was impressed and super friendly, even taught me how to pronounce one word properly which I really appreciated. I tried to express my appreciation in my limited vocab but our meal was peppered with a lot of exaggerated gestures, hand motions and big smiles on both ends, and this to me was the height of Italian warmth and welcome. The food was incredible, we ordered a half liter of red, fried zucchini blossoms to share, cacio e pepe, Amatrciana pasta with tiramisu to boot. The fried zucchini blossoms I've had before but never like this, usually just cream filled but this actually had a bit of anchovy flavor to it which was interesting. The cacio e pepe was incredibly simple but rich a nice complement to the Amatriciana which cut the richness with the acidity of the tomato sauce. The bacon was insanely crunchy in the pasta too which added another dimension in the dish, we had Amatriciana pasta nonstop in Rome but Il Duca's was the absolute best. The tiramisu was also incredible, incomparable to what I've had in the US, so rich and creamy with a ton of dark depth with the espresso.
