Conveniently located next to the hotsy totsy this taco truck has won awards and they deserved even more flowers. I was surprised there was no line as my friend mentioned there can be a line and the price of the taco. I ordered 3 tacos- carne asada, carnitas and language from the lady. She asked if I wanted everything on it so I said yes. She also asked if I was paying cash or card. Guess it would cost more with card. Tacos came out fast on a paper plate. The lady asked if I wanted salsa, I said yes. She gave me what I think is a salsa verde. I had taken the tacos to go eat at home. I noticed that the tacos came with a lemon instead of a lime. The tacos all had onions, parsley and maybe some salsa on top. The radishes were dry. The lengua seemed to have the most flavor than the other two. The carnitas had a couple dry pieces of meat but with some added salsa it was better. The carne asada was fine, could have a little more flavor. This taco truck will not break your wallet.

I waited in line about 10 minutes and 40 more minutes passed before my number was called. I could see four people in the kitchen, one cashier. Seating is all outside. Three tables for 8, about a dozen bar seats along the patio on the street and three more tables in the parking lot. Less seating if it's raining. All three tables of 8 received their food, finished and left before my order was ready. I saw a catering order picked up too. So patience needed. Ordering ahead is the way to go. I love fresh aqua fresca and they had pineapple, jimaica, melon and horchata. I added a slice of lime to my melon and it was tasty. I ordered a quesataco birrila and it was tasty. The crispy cheese added a nice touch however it softened once steamed under the foiled plate. One of the ways I compare Mexican restaurants is by a straight up bean and cheese burrito - and unfortunately one bite was all I took of this one. The beans had a strange flavor to them, fishy almost. If I'm in the area, I'd go back for the tacos, try a keto taco with the fried cheese shell, order ahead, get another aqua fresca and skip the burritos next time, however wouldn't make a special trip.

The setting and drinks are the reasons I'd consider returning, rather than the food itself.

Both were excellent and paired very well with their salsa. Carne asada was cooked and cut perfectly, and tasted much better than when I had it in burritos in the past. Al pastor is very authentic and tastes better than most you can find in the area. Generous amount of onions (and some pineapple for the pastor). I really really enjoyed this, and I'm happy to have this option here in my neighborhood. Only negative is that their tortillas seem to collapse under the general sauciness. I usually prefer to have my salsa on the side, so maybe that's on me. Came out to about $15 for the three tacos which is pretty pricey. However, you do get some chips and salsa for free, and the quality of the food is pretty high. I'm reasonably happy to pay this price to support a nice establishment in my community. The place is clean and recently renovated, with a fairly friendly staff willing to accommodate customizations and requests. I will probably start coming here a lot more regularly after this most recent visit!

We ordered the steak golden burrito and crunch wrap supreme with chicken. Both were delicious and hit the spot. Definitely a strong fusion between Mexican and afghan. Ordering online was easy, but parking was a nightmare, and the place was packed that day. There were a few red flags from the start that I initially brushed off. My order was supposed to be ready by a specific time, yet it came out 30 MINUTES LATE. Then, once we got in the car, we realized they had given us someone else's order. We took it back, and the response was surprisingly rude considering the mix-up wasn't even our fault?? I was genuinely confused. The cook was actually the only person who was kind and understanding about the situation, and even he got yelled at by the guy packing the orders, who was being passive-aggressive toward us in the first place. Definitely not a good look. Now, onto the food. The burrito was good and packed with flavor, but the sauce they add is a bit excessive. It makes the whole thing super soggy and ridiculously messy to eat. I also paid extra to add shrimp, only to find that there was barely any in the burrito. Same goes for the guac I paid extra for. There was so little that I couldn't even taste it, which was pretty disappointing. The chips and salsa were good, though! The fries could've used more time in the fryer because they were floppy rather than crispy and golden. Overall, the food was decent, but the service really brought the experience down. I wanted a good, authentic Mexican burrito, and while the flavor was there, this fusion spot just didn't fully satisfy the craving. I'll stick to the traditional Mexican burrito spots next time.

Drink-wise, they have beer/wine and yummy sangria. So of course we went with a pitcher of the sangria :) The portions were large and ample. Food was solid. I came here with a bunch of coworkers and the one visiting from Houston was elated to come here. I'm ashamed that despite being a Cal alum back in the day, I've never heard of this place. The restaurant is huge, with patio and indoor seating. You order and pay first at the counter, which also sports a full bar. Food comes out pretty quick from a hidden kitchen. Overall, very solid lunch for me, so 4 stars. Standouts: 1. I love their nachos - extra thick and very crunchy compared to most places. The chip is sturdy enough to hold all the salsa you want. The salsa also sticks very well - must be surface tension, LOL. 2. Speaking of salsa, the salsa verde with tomatillo is excellent. My coworker joked that he wanted to smuggle a few bottles in his luggage. 3. For drinks, the Horchata is excellent - rice-based drink that's bot overly sweet and has nice aromatic herb aroma. 4. My main entree was the Enchilada Mole Poblano chicken. Huge dish and they really lay on the sauce. Great flavors overall in the mole. Shredded chicken filling a wee bit on the dry side. 5. One cool feature is that they have a separate food stand next to the main restaurant for take-out orders. The prices are actually very reasonable, and I can see how the restaurant has thrived for decades. We were lucky to find street parking but I did some free parking lots a short walk away.
