Tonight was a busy Friday night at La Fiesta. We sat in a booth a bit removed from the boisterous atmosphere. There were birthday celebrations going on and it can be overwhelmingly loud, depending on where you're seated. Chips and salsa- especially the salsa - were delicious. We both also enjoyed a House Margarita - decent. (An upgraded Margarita could run $25, so stuck with the House.) My friend enjoyed her Beef Quesadilla Supreme. I had ordered a "Popeye Quesadilla" with cheese and spinach, plus added grilled chicken. Both meals looked delicious when they were served. When I took my first bite, the entree wasn't very warm, but worst of all was overly salty and greasy. When our server checked on us, I told him the chicken was too salty for my taste. I'm not sure if there was a language barrier but he turned and left us to tend to other tables. I tried to move the chicken out of the quesadilla and focus on the spinach, black beans, and guacamole. Unfortunately, the strong smokey salty greasy taste of the chicken permeated the rest of the quesadilla. When our server came to ask if I wanted a box for the meal I had partially eaten, I again told him that the meal wasn't to my liking but that he could box it up for my friend- in case her son might eat it. At this point, our server motioned for the manager. I explained the situation and the manager quickly picked up my plate and said he would have it remade; I agreed as long as it was only cheese and spinach without the chicken. It was served and I took a bite; it was good and not salty. However, we were ready to leave so I asked our server for a box to take it home. I appreciated the manager's actions at the end of our meal so that I can look forward to good leftovers tomorrow. However, it was too late to save me from a truly horrible meal tonight. I enjoyed the upbeat atmosphere and catching up with my friend. I will note that the outdoor patio was packed and there was festive music playing. It would be difficult to have conversations but seemed that people were enjoying themselves. Personally, I will take a break from La Fiesta, but may find myself back there at some point. read more

Friday night date night and did not get out of the house for dinner until about 8pm. La Fiesta is a popular Mexican restaurant, and tonight was no different. We didn't have to wait very long before we were seated. Our table was in one of the back rooms of the restaurant. Noise level was excessive. Atmosphere - one-man live music for entertainment. Most walls have some type of artwork. Service - seems to be done by team work and everyone worked well together. Food - I was spoiled by a lot of authentic Mexican food when I resided in Southern California for over 2 decades. Our food was good (Boss Burrito with crab meat, shredded cheese substituted for cheese sauce, and a side of beans instead of sour cream salad. Also had Seafood Enchiladas with crabmeat). Had nice flavor and the Boss Burrito will probably get me through 2 - 3 meals. Fair price for quantity. read more

This place is honestly overrated. I grew up in toledo and have been to this location through all the changes. Went in for the first time in years and was excited because I remember loving it in the early 2000's when it was under a different name. Also apparently they took their good food with them The decor is great and the place was clean which is why I didn't give this a 1 star. The waiters were nice but I was disappointed as it was my birthday dinner and we stayed this several times and they didn't say happy birthday or offer a desert (I ordered one and was charged so maybe they don't do this like other restaurants ‍). They also didn't ask or bring any refills which is always a big red flag for customer service for me personally. The salsa was great but the chips taste like cardboard and were cold. The chicken was dry and flavorless as was the steak in the tacos. I asked for veggies with my meal and it consists or mostly green peppers and onion. Usually most restaurants I have been to its carrots, broccoli, onion, garlic and zucchini or something similar. Just was overall disappointed with our experience. read more

My son and i ate at La Fiesta a couple weeks ago. We were courteously and immediately seated and given menus. Our servers brought our drinks, tortilla chips (made there) and salsa quickly. The menu is huge and includes a lunch and a dinner menu. I ordered shrimp street tacos with rice beans, which came with salad and crema. My son ordered the beef burrito. Our food came quickly, very hot (which I love). We were both so hungry i didn't have time to take photos and my son ate all of his and the rest of mine, when i was full. Prices were reasonable, food was good and the decor was wonderful, brightly painted and full of Mexican art. They do serve drinks but we ordered sodas. read more

Unfortunately we will not be returning to this establishment. It was one of our favorites when it was el Camino and we thought it got even better when it became la fiesta! Well that ship has sailed, we were so disappointed. When seated we kept getting a stinky smell, kinda smelled like mildew and throw up. I think they use the same rag over and over cleaning the menus off and that's what smelled. The smell went away once the menus were gone. I got fajitas (mixed, steak and chicken) they were just disgusting. I ate a few but the flavor was not good almost like no seasoning. My boyfriend had his usual avacado chimichangas and said they were ok not as good as they used to be. After how the foods gone downhill we will not return. read more

COVID doesn't play any role in this review. Ordered Fajitas Especiales and there was ZERO especial about this dish. It's now called La Fiesta (new sign posted outside as well) and there's one in Maumee, OH as well. Atmosphere was very nice inside. Clean, lots of indoor seating (outdoor as well when the weather permits), and neatly decorated. Food was excellent and we got a seafood spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer. The house chips and salsa are excellent as well and definitely homemade. I had the spicy carnitas meal which was fabulous and so fresh! So many wonderful things on the menu and can't wait to go back and give them a try. Only complaint was it was a little slow for it being lunch time with what appeared to be plenty of servers and support staff. Our waitress however was very friendly and the great food, atmosphere, and kind staff made up for the slight wait. read more

Awesome food on Cinco De Mayo! We got take out to celebrate Cinco De Mayo and it didn't disappoint. Between the pile of tacos and the beef chimichanga no one was left hungry at my house. We had several "to-go" margaritas as well- delicious and boozy and much needed. Our food was ready quickly and the staff super friendly when we picked up. Now that this place is "La Fiesta" i will update my review! Patio is still the best in town. Now the food is actually amazing! I have been here multiple times since the new owners have taken over and everything has improved...from the food, to the margaritas, to the inside, to how they treat you. It's very much a welcoming environment and they clearly want everyone to have a good time. If i have one complaint, it's the live music. I enjoy live music occasionally, but it seems to be ALL the time and is always extremely loud. It's hard to have a conversation without shouting. And it's usually not music you'd associate with a Mexican restaurant, or music you'd necessarily want to hear when you are out trying to have a happy, good time...it's often depressing/downer music (think purple rain, nothing else matters, journey, etc), not fun/happy/party music. If you are sitting within 200 feet of the music, forget trying to have any conversation of any kind...often the waitstaff can barely hear you order. read more

Great spot for margs and queso! Came here with friends for Monday night margs and they were delicious and boozy. They had several flavors and Monday nights they have discounted rates. Stopped in at El Camino with a friend for lunch. Neither of us had been here in years. Wait staff was quick and got the drink order fast, and chips and salsa came quick. Unfortunately that was the best part of our visit. My friend ordered a Budweiser and got a Bud Lite; he sent it back. The salsa with the chips had no taste. The carnitas I ordered had no taste. My friends burrito had unidentifiable meat, with no taste. Luckily the refried beans were good. Nothing else was. The locals like to come here for the patio, the scantily clad 20-something' locals on the patio, and the strong margaritas. If you are coming for the food, don't. From what my cousin told me the white queso that we ordered to eat with the free chips and salsa they provide (always a plus when Mexican Restaurants do this and that's why they get the 3rd star) use to taste better. I got the Chimichanga, which USE TO BE much bigger. The tacos I didn't try, but the chili relleno with beef was yummy. I never order Chili Rellenos, but I did enjoy the sauce they used; therefore that was the best I tried out of everything. The green hot sauce was really scrumptious too! Mix this with your salsa and you got a kick in there! I enjoy my food spicy, add a jalapeno...and that makes all the difference. read more

The drinks are OK, but if you do not specify what Tequila you want they will use El Toro. Great place for meeting on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This was our first visit to El Camino Real. My husband and I recently moved to the Toledo area and have been talking about trying this place since we moved here. It always looks busy so we figured that was a good thing. When we got here there was a wait. We were told 10-15 minutes but we actually waited for over 30 minutes for a table. The restaurant was only about half full. I'm not too sure why we waited that long. Our server made it to our table in a decent amount of time but had zero personality. We ordered right away. I ordered a beef chimichanga and my husband ordered beef taquitos. Now my husband is a picky eater and had asked if there were any onions or anything in them. She said it was just the beef. When he got his food, there was green peppers in with the meat. Not a huge deal but you should really know your product. The rest of the food was just okay. Nothing memorable. My biggest complaint was the actual service. Our server didn't have much of a personality. She sat at a table that was next to us and kept asking the hostess if they were still on a wait. She also sat on her phone while we both needed refills and boxes. We were not a priority to her. All in all was anything horrible? No. It wasn't much of anything. Nothing memorable. What the heck is not to love. This is one of my favorite places to slide into when coming to Toledo for a visit. Its always clean and a party atmosphere as soon as the weather breaks. The parking lot is inviting and the sizzling smell of meat on the grill hits once you hit the door. The chicken and shrimp fahita-sans the beef-we ordered, although heavy on the green pepper and onion was good and the margarita is always a nice side. They have good food, good drinks, and good attmosphere. It is in my opinion the number one place to be in the summer with a nice air conditioned indoors and beautiful patio. You can expect a party on the patio if its a nice night I'm the summer. Of course there's free chips and salsa but the best thing is the number of flavored margaritas. There is an inside bar and outside bar which is a good location for mingling during the summer or winter. The only negative I have about this place is it can become rowdy but they complement that with police officers and security. It is the best bar & restaurant in Toledo. read more
