    Fire-Roasted Street Bowl with chicken
    Susan S.

I was here for a book club luncheon discussion. It was my first time here although I was really looking forward to it based on the recommendation of someone in our group who had previously dined here. Upon entering the restaurant, I was a bit disappointed because it somehow didn't have a warm welcoming ambiance to me. I could see where it could have a cool vibe in warmer weather as there is an outdoor patio and garage doors that can open up the front of the restaurant. As it was December, it was just a basic restaurant without a lot of frills. The outside actually looked more inviting than the inside. I found my party and we had several tables pushed together to accommodate the seven of us. So far, everything is okay as we perused the menu, which offered a variety of selections- including build your own salads and tacos. There were also a number of tacos and bowls. Each entree also provides the number of calories. I ordered a fire southwest chicken bowl which came with rice, black beans, corn, lettuce, white meat chicken, pico de gallo, cheese and a southwest flavored creamy dressing. (See the picture of the bowl below.) I also ordered a side of guacamole which came in a small plastic container that seemed as if it had been setting for a while- didn't seem freshly scooped. The bowl wasn't anything horrible but definitely nothing I'll crave. I couldn't find the chicken at first because it was buried under other layers of ingredients. I didn't eat the rice because it didn't seem to be flavored. The portion was pretty generous. However, it came in a cardboard bowl with plastic silverware- which struck me as odd because it's not a fast food restaurant. We ordered from a server who waited on our table and entrees were brought out to us. Just seemed that washable bowls and silverware would have been more appropriate. Also, don't think about ordering coffee or herbal tea as it's not available. At least water was served in a glass. I think it matters what one orders as to how this restaurant is rated. One person at our table ordered a plate of nachos and the portion was both huge and looked delicious. A couple of people ordered tacos that they found too spicy. One person mentioned it to our server and it was promptly replaced. The person who had been there before ordered two make your own tacos and enjoyed them. I think it's best to order any sauces on the side to determine how spicy and whether or not it's something you like. I had ordered my bowl exactly as it came and was stuck with the seasoned sauce that wasn't too spicy but wasn't really a match for my taste preferences. I think if I ever found myself back at Condado that I would build my own entree and order sauce on the side- and that's my recommendation for anyone else new to this restaurant. I would try it again but wouldn't make a point of running back. I did note that the restaurant passed its health inspection with a score of 100%, which is commendable, so my rating is simply based on my personal experience.

Their tacos still hit the spot! Tonight, Condado managed to convert my "Chipotle Rice Bowl" loving friend into a Condado "Build Your Own Rice Bowl" lover. I had my normal taco -- Braised n Confused. And, experienced their seasonal Baja Taco which was delicious but, a bit too spicy for this wimpy foodie. The service was great! The updated wall-art or graffitied walls and trying the new menu items are always an amazing conversation starter especially for first time dates. They also opened another location in the Rossford/Perrysburg area.

I really do not understand the negative reviews. We come here often and have always had great service and food. I'm so over everyone saying "it's not authentic"... who cares!?!? The margaritas are delicious. The tacos and nachos are always fresh and delicious. Service is always friendly. They also have a dog friendly patio which is an enormous plus for us.

I've never heard of this place before but I was so excited to meet my girlfriends here! They have such a great menu and the margaritas aren't too bad either I had no idea that this was a chain, but I was very impressed. The guacamole was a must try!

I guess you could call Condado a Mexican restaurant if you want to, but it's more like a really large hipster taco truck with inside seating and no wheels. Did I hear someone say "Hipster vibe?" Yes, Condado has a hipster vibe. From the music to the decor to the waitstaff, this place, like an incessantly shrieking harpy, screams 'hipster!' Take that as you will; personally, I'm a'ight wit it. Candado is open, bright, colorful, noisy, and, when the garage doors are up, airy. It's a pretty fun place. The food is good. It's expensive, and I have some mixed feelings about it, but overall, it works out well. One reviewer felt that it's as though Condado "grabbed every left over from the fridge and threw it on a tortilla." Actually, yeah. Kinda, maybe. Some of the flavor combos did seem pretty random, and not particularly well thought out, IMHO. I'll admit right now: I wasn't adventurous with my ordering; I got the "pepperoni and cheese," so to speak. That is, I tried a traditional chorizo taco (3 bucks), and both types of steak tacos (5 bucks each). The chorizo was solid, but certainly nothing special. It was average sized, and it needed some zest. The steak tacos were both served double-decker style with a flour soft shell, and a hard corn shell...I liked this...I appreciated the increased structural integrity! Both steak tacos were good, and a little larger than expected. What would be nice (and maybe they have this already) if Condado offered some sauce (red, verde, mango habenero, whatever) to add on top...just in case you're the kind of person who like things extra picante. Next time (and there WILL indeed be a next time), I plan to be more ballsy in my choice of tacos. The beer selection is pretty average. I didn't try any of the margs, or mixed drinks, but their descriptions sounded pretty damned legit. Any place that uses Mezcal in a marg is my kind of place. I'll come back sometime when I'm not on the clock. The service was friendly, and the speed of service was great, but I know this place gets crowded and things slow down in the evening. For now, 4 stars.

    Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. same.

My favorite spot in Toledo for hipster stoner tacos. If you haven't tried Condado, what are you waiting for? It's AMAZING! You can build your own or choose from an amazing assortment of tacos already built for you! The margaritas are tasty and strong, the chips and salsa is on point! The staff is super friendly. There is even a rewards system- I usually get $5 off every visit!

With a menu riddled with references to marijuana, it all makes complete sense when your food arrives. Offering flavors and spices a little more intense than your traditional Mexican restaurant, with a surprising amount of heat and options to build your own tacos or salads, it's clear this food is made specifically for people with the munchies.

Totally recommend this place! I came on a Saturday night with some friends. The wait was about 1.5hrs. We took a trip to Target next door and just chatted for a bit. It was expected with the weekend nights. No biggie! Tacos were HUGE! I tried 4 different ones and they were all so delicious! We also ordered flights of margaritas! Drinks weren't strong, but I didn't mind it :) The restaurant was so upbeat and fun! I love the loud music and artwork on the walls. Reminds me of restaurants back in California. I would recommend this place to everyone I know visiting the Toledo area!

My sister-in-law and I shared a fried burrito with Al Pastor in it. The shit was fire! They make their own hot sauces in house. The waitress brought a creamy habanero sauce to the table that was still warm. Mad respect for that. It was delicious, but hot as hell. This place is a 12 year-old boys dream. It has such a cool nacho Libre vibe. I would've given it five stars except for a few small details. I really wish you could give 4.5. It just wasn't quite at that five star level. For me a five star level means all the food is executed. Well, the service is impeccable, the place is clean, and it's a good overall experience. There was nothing bad about this by any means. But it just wasn't quite five stars. The queso is not good. It has a decent flavor, but it is super watery. I also don't like that none of their giant burritos come automatically with rice and beans. If I am ordering a $14 burrito even if it's huge, it should really come with rice and beans. Also, I wish they had a few more appetizer options like Mexican street corn. While they did have some nachos, a few basic dips and some Ramen, I just feel like they could do a little more on the appetizer front. My sister-in-law and I split a burrito and usually what I would do is get an appetizer for us to share as well and there just wasn't anything. I will argue to the death. That queso is not an appetizer. It is a condiment. A delicious condiment. Like I said... 4.5 stars for this place the waitress was very helpful. I also wish you could mix and match three tacos for $12 or something like that and I also wish they had some happy hour drink specials.

3.5-ish For starters, the name of this restaurant (according…read moreto its own sign) is Taqueria Carnales, not Carnales Taqueria (as listed on Yelp). Anyway, this is a place for people who enjoy highly flavored and spicy food. Seriously, ask them to go easy on the jalapenos if you aren't up for spicy. I ordered everything as is for my first visit for takeout and enjoyed it but it was on the edge of too spicy for me, (chicken grande burrito) without actually crossing the line.Very much crossed the line with the shrimp tacos, imo. I ordered the following: Menudo Soup (made from cow's stomach); Shrimp Tacos and a Chicken Burrito Grande. The estimated prep time was 15 minutes and the food was ready on time. It's a cute, small restaurant that is very clean. While you could choose to dine in, I didn't see anyone eating there and it appears that most of their business is carryout. Upon arriving home, I found that the Menudo Soup had spilled inside the plastic bag. Not too big a deal. The other entrees were packed in styrofoam containers. The burrito was wrapped in paper and foil. My mom had the Menudo Soup and said it was good. She had one of the three shrimp tacos and said it was okay but that she wouldn't crave them. The avocado slices looked very fresh. My mom loves spicy food but she commented that the soup and tacos were very spicy. As for my chicken burrito, it was unexpectedly spicy in a mostly good way. The burrito was stuffed with everything inside - guacamole, rice, chicken, refried beans (very little), cheese and jalapeno peppers. It was a delicious combo but I would have preferred the individual ingredients to be separate. The biggest problem, however, was that the foil wrap made it difficult to cut into the burrito without also cutting into the foil. I think it's more of a "me" issue that might not bother anyone else. Overall, I would order from this restaurant again. The quality is definitely way above Taco Bell, but it's not quite fast food even though it's next to a Subway. Also, I asked if their refried beans were made with lard and I was assured they were vegetarian. If I hadn't seen so many positive reviews on Yelp, I wouldn't have known to check out this spot, but would encourage you to try it too for high quality, authentic Mexican cuisine! EDIT/UPDATE: I tried one of the shrimp tacos that my mom left in the fridge. OMG, it was super spicy to the point of giving me hiccups. Plus, the spiciness seemed to come from a creamy cheese sauce added to the shrimp tacos after they were cooked. I can understand why my mom wouldn't crave them and I would never order them myself. Based on your personal preference for spiciness, let this give you an idea of the level of spiciness that could be added to your food unless you request your dish to be less spicy. Recommend with caveat re spiciness.
