This spot used to be Orlando's Cafe for many years and now under new owners and new name!…read more Slowly but surely they are revamping the space and giving the store a much needed face lift with new counters, a fresh coat of paint and such. Diego, who I think is the manager there, said while they will keep most of the popular breakfast items that Orlando's offered, like Beso sandwiches and Pinto Gallo, they will be overhauling the lunch and dinner menus and do away with some of the dishes that either didn't make sense or weren't as popular, but the tacos will stay! They will also be slowly bringing in more Peruvian dishes to the menu as well in the next few months. Happy to see that the space remains an eatery and look forward to coming back to trying the new menu items while still enjoying the signature Orlando's breakfast items still being offered.

I was really disappointed with my visit to Sabores Orange, which took over what used to be La Fonda…read moreColombiana. La Fonda was a great spot -- authentic food, warm atmosphere, and always fresh. Unfortunately, this new place doesn't live up to that standard at all. To start, there were no English menus available, which made ordering confusing. During my visit, I actually killed three flies inside the restaurant -- and there were several more buzzing around. That alone was a bad sign. The food didn't redeem the experience either. The calamari was over-fried and far from fresh. The dish with ground beef was literally ground into a dust-like texture -- completely unappetizing. The beans were cold, and the empanadas were hard, stale, and clearly re-fried; they even had an unpleasant taste. The mango juice, which I hoped would save the meal, was also a miss. Overall, it was a terrible experience from start to finish. I won't be coming back. Whatever happened between La Fonda Colombiana and Sabores Orange is truly disappointing -- the old restaurant was far better in every way.

Came up in a conversation the other day, so thought maybe I should finish it. Came here on a quiet night with some friends. My dinner mates are locals, so they have been here a handful of times. They said that service was up and down, but the steaks were always pretty solid. Therefore, most of us got some red meat. Anyway, all the steaks were cooked pretty well, though my favorite was certainly the skirt steak. Full of umami and juicy as can be, this steak was delicious. The ribeye was cut a bit too thin for me, which why we had to return it the first time due to being overcooked. The new ribeye was cooked properly. The carne asada in the Bandejo Paisa was a bit tough, but extremely flavorful. Rest of the plate was good too. We also had two seafood dishes, which were both decent. Sadly, the service didn't really match the food quality. It was mostly absent for the entire meal. Then when we returned the ribeye, the owner showed clear dismay and sarcastically pointed out that our gray colored steak was edible. Sorry, but we ordered it medium rare. We should not be receiving any attitude for a steak that had zero pink left in the center. Please adjust your attitude. Ultimately, the food is good enough for us to return. However, it's hard to support an owner who does not understand how to treat their customers.
