Tucked away tiny few table sit down/ take out South American food.Cool off the grid feeling lunch spot yet in the village of Greenport. Could easily pass by, easy to miss. This is in the same center as a popular Deli and Pizza place but around the other side facing the main road, but tucked back and small. Interesting sodas, but went for a Corona with lime which they have in the back. So ask for it! Tried the Papusa's, mixed was best. Tried a burrito also. This seems to be Salvadorian. A little blander than a tex/ mex style. Came with hot sauce, sour cream and a small iceberg salad. Warm friendly people, and a nice change from standard choices out here.

fried chicken, rice and beans with salad and comes w/tortillas.

Only spanish food around and it was delicious. However given how small the place is and that the small menu options are written on a wall (no physical menus) I was disappointed when I asked for the rice and beans to be substituted for cassava which was also on the menu so I had to settle for the rice and beans. Not much customer service. (Ambiance gives working men on breaks, who you might get offered free beer from)

I'd never had Salvadoran food, but saw this spot had a lot of great reviews on Yelp, and it was around the corner from where we were... so we decided to stop by for takeout! The short: 2 awesome women serving up yummy, homemade-feeling food. The longer: this spot is no frills (cash only, styrofoam plates, a couple of tables inside) but has been crowded every time we've walked by. The woman at the counter was so nice! We ordered basically one of everything for 6 people. The food was all SO fresh, and the place is super affordable. The fried chicken, fried fish and pupusas were unbelievably good. I'd never had a pupusa, but I'm pretty sure that cheese pupusa puts all quesadillas to shame. Cheesy. Deliciousness. We will definitely be back- super glad Greenport has this gem!

This place is the best hole in the wall. It's literally hidden between dental practices and other small offices in a cluster of strip mall about a block away from the pier. The menu is hand written on a white board directly below the service counter. If you don't see anyone at the counter, don't despair. Just look for that little bell. Ding! If you have not tried pupusa before, I would highly recommend it here. It's basically hand made corn tortilla with different types of filling inside. You can hear the ladies making them by hand in the kitchen by that "pat pat pat" sound they make from working with the cornmeal dough. You know that's as legit as it gets! Also tried the fried fish, which was very reasonably priced. The portion was huge and it came with rice and salad. It was fried pretty crispy. I would have perhaps like is a little less, but overall still good. This fish is probably good enough to share with another person, unless you're greedy... Like me... Their quesadilla was also pretty decent. It was filled with plenty of meat and cheese. However, if I have to choose again between order the quesadilla versus the pupusa, I would've just ordered a couple more pupusas and skipped the quesadilla. Once you finished eating (there's a good chance you won't be able to finish all of it), don't forget to hit the pier and walk it all off!

    All of this for $18.50

This little gem was pretty hard to find, even with directions. Glad we kept looking. Got two papusa's, one quesadilla with rice and beans, one horchata and a fruit punch for $18.50z. Only wish they put prices on their menu. Couldn't help but feel like I got up-charged for being a gringo. Their food is amazing and different from anything I have ever tried before.

    Fajita Platter

My husband and I came here after a work event and after searching yelp we found this place. We were pleased with how delicious and authentic the food tasted. The pupusas were super cheesy and delicious and my husband's fajita platter was incredible. The natural juices were also on point!!!!!

Great pupusas! Fast service. I went back the next day after having it the first time. Very small but cozy space.

Excellent, fresh food, authentic and down to earth. A local spot for hard working people. Best value in a 50 mile radius.

They're served with a cabbage slaw, tomato sauce and some spicy pickled jalapeños and carrots. The slaw gives it a nice crunch and the tomato sauce is nice and sweet to counter the saltiness of the cheese. My favorite is probably the loroco, which reminds me of broccoli and cheese but different. The corn dough outside is nicely charred but soft on the inside. It's not dry at all, even with the chicken filling. I paid 6 bucks for all of that. I probably will definitely order take out again. It was very fast and the girl spoke fluent English. The prices on the steak plates seem reasonable so I may try that the next time. The decor is sort of sad but the food is bomb.

These are usually the best places. The place looks ruined down, but don't let it detract you. This place is good. The order was a typical carne asarda platter with a salad rice refried beans. I have to tell you it was delicious and for 9 bucks it could feed two, but I found myself eating the entire plate. Top it off with a nice passion fruit fresh juice and this was a great meal. If your in the mood for a home cooked meal for a great price give this joint a try. Thanks
