The Mezzaluna Escargot has enough garlic butter to keep me in heavenly bliss for the rest of the night. The Santo Burillo braised pork tenderloins and New Zealand Lamb Pops made my sweetheart have to close his eyes and simply melt into the taste. While the Marina gulf shrimp were large and tasty, we were more impressed by everything else we had. The reviews about the slow-ish Kitchen are on point. That's the only small dissatisfier. I was in town for work and wanted to experience a fun restaurant that was not a chain restaurant. I found a great time and great food at La Diosa Cellars! One of my absolute favorite places to visit in Lubbock! You often forget that you are in Lubbock when you are there. Our table always gets a bottle (or 3) of their signature sangria and start off with an order of the Rebecca. Beyond that, we have all tried something different every time we have been there, and I have not eaten anything there that I didn't love. Keep in mind that it is tapa sized portions, so it is not massive, Texas sized portions. Just ensure that you manage your expectations. A nice, quaint spot with a lot of character in decor. Came here on a Saturday night with some girlfriends and had an enjoyable meal and experience. They have a variety of tapas (small plates) so there is something for everyone. We started off with a pitcher of sangria ($18) which was refreshing and tasty. We also ordered the Besitos y Jalapeños ($12) which is pretty much shrimp with jalapeños, cheese and bacon. Delicious and had the perfect amount of spice! The Albondigas de Madrid ($12), better known as the meatballs, were also super tender and juicy but had sort of a funky spice that I wasn't a big fan of. I probably could've done without this dish. We also ordered the Santo Burillo ($13), which was a pork tenderloin dish marinated in a garlic whiskey and brandy sauce. The meat itself was super flavorful and melted in your mouth. The Barcelona pizza ($12) had chicken on garlic spread with sun dried tomatoes, onions, and lots of cheese. Delicious, but way too greasy. Finally, the best thing we did order was the Dos Tacos Papasitos($13), two tacos with pork belly, jalapeño, and their homemade cabbage slaw. So. Good. Order this and you won't regret it! Portion sizes were small as hell, which is usual in an OUTWARDLY upper-class establishment but there was NO flavor OR fillingness in neither myself nor my partner's dish. Complimentary bread was good. My dish, the pizza with crushed beans, had non consistent temperature (ingredients heated unevenly); flavor was good BUT the dish was made to order and took 90 minutes to get to me... long after I'd watched my partner suffer through her meal. My partner's dish, the sardine entree, had no flavor to bring out the fish (use salt here), which ended up turning it to a soup of dilute fish bodies. In addition, the portion size (4 fish) was laughable considering sardine cans cost less than $5, and hold about 2-4 portioned sardines. The waiter was quick to do his job, but seemed almost over bearing and sometimes rude reaching over and blatantly cutting off or not noticing the persons in my dinner party. His control of the dishes to table were unsanitary as he sometimes touched the food with his hand that I have no way of knowing where it's been. In the 90 minute wait for my food, they brought 4 complimentary plates of food, 1 savory and 3 dessert. The savory dish was great, but the three desserts were stale, flavorless and DRY. It was obvious that these were an overflow of desserts they needed to get rid of. The drink ware was not fit into the budget, as it held less than adequate hold volumes of liquid, making it laborious and tedious to constantly keep filling up the water cup. Lastly, the sangria was basically alcoholic Capri sun. It was an enjoyable look and flavor to compliment the atmosphere but it was obvious that bc of the location, they overcharged and under performed. Very disappointed. read more

These little fish melted in your mouth, so tender and tasty. If you like seafood AT ALL, order these and don't share :) The drinks. I enjoyed the Aperol Spritz and the Bella Rioja. After 4 years of wanting to try this restaurant, I left pretty disappointed. The food was better then most restaurants around Lubbock. I recommend the risotto it was great. Now where they lagged was customer service.... our server checked on us twice in a span of over two hours and at that we flagged him. Went here for dinner on Saturday night for my friend's birthday. They were able to seat all 9 of us within a couple minutes, which was great. The restaurant was surprisingly not very busy at 7pm on a Saturday night; but I'm not complaining! We ordered Sylvana's Queso, which was actually very tasty. It had amazing flavor and I loved the pico de gallo on top. Sangria is a must at La Diosa! For dinner, I ordered the Barcelona pizza since I wanted something a bit heavier than their small plates. It was a personal pizza, good for one person. Next time I'll probably do a family style tapas dinner with my friends. Came back the next morning for Sunday brunch, which happens once a month on the first Sunday! TOTALLY WORTH IT. This is a pretty eclectic place with art work adorning the walls. Everything we ate was really flavorful. My only complain was I called for a reservation and told them I needed a high chair and they didn't mention it being a problem. When we got there they didn't have any. I have one we could have brought that folds out and fits on a chair. Kids are allowed but it's not really a good place for children. The only only complaint was our waiter disappeared for some time after our food was delivered. We would have ordered dessert but by the time he came back we were ready for the check. Love La Diosa. I have been for brunch, lunch, dinner, and night time sangria. All have been outstanding. For brunch I got the Croissanti it is an open-faced toasted croissant topped with Serrano, ham, Prosciutto, Havarti and Gouda cheese, sweetened with jalapeño pepper jam and topped with two baked eggs. It was so yummy and the perfect amount. Their Sangria is something they are famous for in Lubbock. On Tuesdays pitchers are only $10. It is the perfect combo of fruit, wine and sprite. It isn't too sweet either. You can also request less or no sprite to customize it to your likings. The Marina is so creamy and delicious and the perfect tapa. It is lime marinated large tailed shrimp, bursting with aromas of smoked paprika, saffron, parsley, and butter and broiled. The Angelina is my all time favorite appetizer there. It is a plate of small baguette toasts beneath a savory fresh goat cheese spread topped with a Spanish style onion marmalade, broiled and finished with prosciutto crisps. It is always perfectly crispy and they flavors compliment each other so so well. The dos tacos papasitos has seared pork belly glazed in a cocktail of mango, tequila, and jalapeño, served with homemade cabbage slaw over warm tortillas. This is the perfect entree to share after indulging in a bottle of wine and a tapa or two.....or three :) The atmosphere of La Diosa is really the huge cherry on top of the experience. The lighting is perfectly glowy. The interior is very quaint and has a mediterranean touch. This is the most perfect place to go for any reason. Last week some friends & I went to a highly rated locally own restaurant called La Diosa La Diosa Cellars . Had a fabulous experience & enjoyed ourselves. The next day I noticed my card had been charged over the authorization amount. I called Saturday & Tuesday to try to get the issue resolved & was told "I don't have any answers for you" "I don't have the authority to do anything" and they would get back to me. FIVE DAYS.... For the manager to call me back & tell me she couldn't help the fact she was out of town & it wasn't their intention to keep my $8.00. OK, at this point it's not about the $8.00. It's the principle! We spent almost $200 in there and tipped our waitress $31. I let her know that I feel that the situation had been mishandled in my opinion & basically I feel that they don't even care... After a brief hold she said all she was going to offer me was my $8 refund. I would've had better customer service at McDonalds! I'm not trying to get free stuff or anything like that but they really don't seem to care about the inconvenience or going above & beyond for their customers. Decor is on point. We walked into a very well decorated spanish inspired space with comfortable looking couches and tables. We ordered: 1. Snails - One of my favorite dishes of the night.
