Went in to try something new, food was prepared well and the service was prompt. Not necessarily the friendliest but by no means rude, just not talkative. All is served on disposable tableware and the drinks are bottled but the food seems to be straight up authentic. Unassuming building for sure but worth a stop for some variety. read more

Still the best in town! Had lunch here today with one of my employees and she agreed that everything was perfect. Do not go anywhere else for your Mediterranean food. Manara is still the best. read more

Don't let this exterior scare you away here. We stopped by for an early lunch and wasn't sure if they were open or closed. I'm so glad I walked up and tried the door, because they were open and the food was delicious! I feel like they do quite a bit of takeout, but there were 4 other tables with people when we left. We ordered the hummus - it was creamy and perfect with warm hummus. I got the falafel wrap - it was HUGE. My stepdad got the gyro plate. The gyro meat was incredible. If I went back, I would definitely get the gyro wrap. Service was quick and kind, this was probably my favorite meal while in Lubbock. read more

Manara Cafe - Hummus - Mediterranean Near Me - Lubbock, Texas

When you walk in, you are greeted by warm vibes, beautiful arabic singing, and several displayed large jars of real mediterranean olives. This place is proud of its heritage and its food reflects the authentic, homely hospitality of its founders. Every time we come here, we are stunned by the freshness and wonderful taste. The chicken shawarma wrap is juicy, delicious, and not too heavy. Hummus sides we've tried before come also with bountiful pita bread and olive oil. This is the best legit mediterranean food option in Lubbock. Definitely check it out! read more

Very friendly service, and the best chicken shawarma--SO delicious! Also, the hummus is outstanding!

I would post a picture of the food I received yesterday but I devoured it before taking a picture even crossed my mind. The lamb gyro was tender and bursting with flavor. Truly divine. I'm surprised it was so quiet on a Saturday afternoon so I highly recommend you visit for the lovely ambiance and excellent service. Truly, the man who helped me was informative and fast. read more

The hummus was great. I'll be getting that again. But the food is great. People keep talking about the owner. He's just a grouch, lower your expectations for friendliness because the food has been worth it for me. But grouchy old men don't bother me. They know our world is all backwards. read more

I only get it to go since their hours are limited, but they are great at to go hours, and the rice is so good!

Great price, great portions, great food! My husband and I tried out this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant and were blown away! The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. First, we ordered the hummus. It was a generous amount and came with plenty of pita bread. It was delicious! I then ordered the chicken shawarma wrap with a side of fries and my husband ordered the beef/lamb gyro with a side of saffron rice. We both absolutely loved all the food and can't wait to go back! read more

Manara Cafe - Chicken Shawarma with fries and beef/lamb gyro with saffron rice. - Mediterranean Near Me - Lubbock, Texas

The gyro and babaganoush were really good. The place was simple and silverware is disposable, so all bare bones but good food.

We came in at 7:05 because online it says they're open until 8pm, but they're door said they close at 7. Thankfully, the man who was working took our order anyways! He was very nice and the food didn't take very long to be prepared. This was my husbands first time trying Mediterranean/Lebanese food and we both really enjoyed the chicken shawarma plate. He loved the sauce that came with the shawarma, but wasn't a fan of the falafel. I felt like the falafel was okay, but my only other experience having it was while in the Middle East and it tasted different. The consistency was great though, it was just seasoned different than I expected. Overall, we really enjoyed the food and we'll definitely be ordering from here again! read more

Great food and great service. We tried this restaurant for the first time one afternoon, and then proceeded to eat there 3 more times in the next two weeks. The food is super fresh and authentic. Love the chicken kabob, saffron rice and pita bread. Have heard great things about the veggie platter as well. read more

After trying out this place, it quickly became one of my favorites. They serve delicious food at reasonable prices and the portion sizes are large. The service is really nice and the food comes out pretty quickly. I love the Babba Ghanoush, a roasted eggplant dip. The texture is very smooth and the flavor is smoky with a hint of eggplant. My favorite entrees are the chicken shawarma and the kafta kabob. The meats are very tender and flavorful, and they give you a lot of it. The entrees also come with saffron rice and it is delicious. It's good enough to eat on its own because it is cooked with spices and has a nice cinnamon and nutmeg flavor. The dishes also come with a large serving of pita bread which goes well with all of the meats and dips. If you want to try a nice Mediterranean restaurant, you should try coming here. The food is great and filling, especially for the low prices. read more

Love this place! After moving from Chicago, it's been hard to find authentic, clean, fresh food at a mom-and-pop restaurant. The food here is not only delicious, but it's truly authentic. This is by far my favorite restaurant in Lubbock. It's hard to find authentic Lebanese/Mediterranean food in Lubbock, but this place has it. The owner is very kind and is always quick and efficient. I've been here many times and am never disappointed! The food is fantastic and the service is pretty good for a family run restaurant. Normally I get the chicken shawarma platter but today I tried the chicken shawarma pita sandwich. It was still AMAZING! The sauce you get with it is to die for!! For appetizers we had done hummus, babaganoush, and falafel. I really liked the falafel. The hummus wasn't very flavorful in my opinion. The food here is always great and will keep coming back! read more

Delicious! I love Greek food and this nice little shop had great food! Friendly staff as well!

I love this place so much. The owner is an absolutely lovely person. Every menu item is incredible, however, the falafel as well as the chicken shawarma are worth all of your money. That being said, everything is super reasonably priced. Oh the saffron rice is really special as well. All other rice is inferior. Don't waste another meal out on sad fast food or a chain restaurant. This is one of the best spots in town. read more

I had the Vegetable Platter with hummus, falafel, Baba ghanoush, dolmas, salad, and pita. It was affordable at $7.99. For the price, it was just fine. I appreciated that the owner served me. I arrived at around 1:35pm. Their posted hours for Friday say that they close at 2pm. However, they really close their seating area at 1:30pm. They serve takeout only from 1:30pm - 2pm on Friday. read more

We are from Clovis and we have no place there that offers this type of menu. We had the chicken shawarma and lamb gyro plate which was amazing. Even the simple salad they serve with the meal was great. We found a great hidden gem to enjoy our craving of Mediterranean food. Please stop you won't regret it. read more

If you didn't know this place was here you would drive past. Very authentic food. No frills , small tables, basic setup. The doblas were very tasty, lots of olive oil, lemon and garlic. The only reason for a 4 star is the beef and lamb gyro plate (maybe it should he described differently) I thought j would be getting hunks of lamb and beef, what you get is lamb and beef ground together and served on the plate in bite size pieces. While extremely tasty it just was not what was expected. The parking is not great and most likely have to park in the back. Great food for something different read more
