Barcelona Pizza
Mathias Z.

Service was absolutely fabulous--attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaged. Food came out quickly, and the overall vibe of the restaurant is eclectic and interesting. Now to the food and beverage side. The menu offers wine only, which isn't ideal, but I understand that's a choice every owner has to make. The meatballs were clearly pre-made and then reheated in the Marsala sauce. They were overly salty, and the sauce itself lacked balance it leaned heavily acidic, almost vinegary, without the richness you'd expect. The "Barcelona" pizza was solid, but again, shortcuts were noticeable. The crust was clearly pre-made. I appreciated the heat, but overall the flavor profile was fairly flat.Best thing I had was freshly baked bread it was fresh and tasty. Overall, great service and atmosphere, but the food execution didn't quite live up to it.

Bread and oil is always a win

As soon as you enter La Diosa, you leave Lubbock. It's an old school gorgeous charm that takes you to a different place! While everyone around me was drinking their popular sangria, I opted for a bottle of sparkling rosè for about $35, and it was great. A great brunch choice! Worthy tapas: - Sylvana's Queso: The fresh garlic pieces mixed with sweet onion and artichoke hearts blended nicely for a strong taste. You can easily pick out the artichoke chunks to eat if someone at your table doesn't want them. - Risotto mí Lalita: Mushroom risotto for the win!! It's also closer to a regular meal size than tapas, so it's plenty to eat. - Sliced baguette: You cannot go wrong with this bread and oil combo. - Padrón peppers: Shishito peppers were grilled nicely and not spicy. They were too easy to eat!! Make a reservation online and go try it! They sell McPherson wines, and it was fun to eat here then go across the street to visit the McPherson tasting room as well. Their individual private restrooms are nice too. It's nice to see unique places like this in Lubbock!

A friend recommended this Tapas restaurant because he graduated from Tech & we really enjoyed it! We were a bit concerned getting here because coming from Houston, downtown was very quiet but once we came in, it is a beautiful place with a warm ambiance! We loved the live music, although they do charge $3.10 per person for the music but it all goes to the musicians, the sangria was great & all the tapas & dessert were great! My favorite was the Margherita pizza! I would definitely recommend it!

Perfect 5th band was incredible! I hope to see them again next time we go! Service was great and we were seated by the band as we had requested. We love live music while we dine. The atmosphere was eclectic, and it was like leaving Lubbock for an hour! $5 cover fee with 100% going to the band was welcomed! It's good to see local restaurants supporting the community. They also heavily support the winery across the street which is great! A bit over priced for mediocre tapas, but we knew it was going to be pricey before we left and it's fairly well-known that the more pretentious the food is, the less you get of it. $12-$18x4 (the amount they recommend you get for 2) for 2 people is steep and the quality just wasn't up there for me. We had the meatballs, escargot, and Classico caprese. I found the meatballs a bit bready 2/5, I only ate about 1/4 of one meatball. My husband gave them a 5/5, and devoured the rest. My husband gave the escargot 5/5, they were buttery and garlicky. I did not partake, lol. I loved the caprese but it was a tad over seasoned with pepper. I'd give 4/5. This is what I ate as my only dish, nothing else really appealed, but again, I knew this ahead of time after researching the menu. The Crème Brûlée was disappointing. Usually my favourite dessert, theirs was watery and slightly clumpy. I forced down about 1/4 of it and passed it over to my husband who, unprompted, gave the same critique. It was not the buttery-smooth, melt in your mouth experience I am used to. I give it a 2/5. The sparkling sangria was good, but half the glass was ice so you either have to chug it or drink it watered down. I prefer to savor my drink during the course of the meal and it just became water about halfway through. It would get a 4/5 if not for the ice. 1/5 because of the ice. My husband had the red sangria and finished it, 3/5 for him. He was turned off by the lime in it, wishing they'd used something else or just more orange. He also felt the ice was too much and made it watery. I took a small sip and went back to my drink, lol. I'm picky with my alcohol, 1/5 for me. I probably won't be chomping at the bit to go back, but my husband will probably want to go again. We'll probably just watch their live music list and go back now and then if there's a band we like playing. I'll definitely request no ice in my drink next time, lol.

This was our first time eating at La Diosa. The food was amazing and very fresh, the service was phenomenal, and the environment was extremely fun. Overall, it made for a wonderful evening. The only thing I would add is that they do charge a per person live music fee on the weekend that was not disclosed prior to receiving the bill. While we didn't mind paying it because the music did add to the overall experience of the restaurant, letting the customers know prior to dining would be suggested in my opinion.

Crème brûlé

Such a cute restaurant and everything was amazing! They also have some artwork and decor available for sale. One of my favorite places now!

My friend wanted to try this tapas place in Lubbock after we spent the day wine tasting. It was super quirky and gave off antique/vintage store vibes. We ordered the roasted potatoes, paella, empanadas, bruschetta, and meatballs. The least impressive dish was the potatoes, didn't have much flavor. The most impressive dish was the paella which was jam packed with different textures and colors. Everything was beautifully plated and very pleasing to the eye. The tables were tiny here and close together. When we got up to go to the ladies room we had to squeeze thru just to get there. The three of us had no elbow room or table room for all our dishes. Over all, good food experience and great service. Our waitress was from Amarillo which is where my friend lives and very friendly to us.

Absolutely stunned that I've never been here before. This truly is Lubbock's hidden gem. The atmosphere, service, and food were all phenomenal. It didn't feel like we were in Lubbock. This is a place where you eat multiple tapas, basically a series of shareable appetizers. They were all delicious and paired well with the wine. I want to emphasize how wonderful our waitress was. I'm wishing that I could remember her name, so that she could get the credit she deserves. Who would've thought that a beautiful restaurant with fresh, flavorful food just happened to be behind some of Lubbock's main college kid Thursday night go to's such as the Library and Kongs. Don't let the location steer you away, you won't even feel like you're in Lubbock. This is now on my Lubbock top 3 must try restaurants. I definitely recommend trying Sylvanna's Queso. It had a nice kick to it and a perfect blend of cheese and artichoke. The Margherita pizza wasn't the best I've ever had, but the flavor was wonderful. I can't wait to try more!

This is a great place for an afternoon drink and snack. A very relaxed chill vibe with jazz music playing in the background. My Porto Tonico (gin & tonic) drink was refreshing and had a slight sweetness to it that I liked. My wife liked her sparkling sangria. Sylvana's queso was well flavored with just a touch of heat from the diced jalapeños. Keeana our server was superb.

This place is definitely a hidden gem. Wasn't really sure what I wanted for dinner and came across this spot especially wanting to eat light and something different. Food was great just as the service was from Farron. She was so welcoming and a pleasure meeting. I was just amazed with my experience here. Nothing but good food, service, and even the music. Learned from Farron that they have live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. You will not be disappointed if you visit this spot.

We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. Fully intended to post pictures as the plates came out to show how well it was all presented, however as they came out I was so excited to try them that I forgot to take the picture until I had taken a bite. This place delivered on quality, taste, environment and options! Wine was good as well. Had the sangria out of obligation based on what our friends told us. It's as good as I've ever had but I'm just not a sangria fan. The other 4 wines we tried were all awesome. Our server was awesome, he helped us pace our courses over the two hours we spent there with plates coming out within 5-10 minutes of us ordering them. We had a great dining experience here and look forward to another evening there to try the plates we didn't have this time.

Very good brunch! Reminds me of uptown Dallas eateries! Sadly only open for brunch the first Sunday of the month but worth it. Bring a date!
