Although I do recognize this practice is on trend with many restaurants, I really have to do better remembering to bring cash here. Also they'd do better at offering more options for green sauce. It was my first time trying the Tallarin Verde (green pasta) and it's absolutely delicious. I did add a little seasoning, but that was a personal preference. It is delicious as it is. You know how sometimes you see a photo of something & you KNOW it's going to be good. Because you're a foodie & you just know... yeah, this was that. And they give a good portion for $15. This place was pretty good, not the best one I've ever tried, but it definitely satisfied my cravings! The portion is generous, and it comes with papa and choclo, just like back home. The person who answered the phone and handed me the food was very nice and efficient. They have plenty of seating inside, and the place seemed very clean. Parking is difficult since it is on a regular street in Newark so you have to manage with street parking. Overall, if I'm ever craving Peruvian food as I leave my office, this is the place I'll be going to, as I'm excited to try the rest of their dishes!

It used to be called Cejas and for a while now it's Garcia, the food still gives me that same taste of home. I was born in Ecuador and still have family there, so getting to eat here always brings me right back home. Everything tastes so authentic and delicious! I usually order the same thing because when you find something you love, why mess with it? Haha My go-to is the Bollo de Pescado, and it never disappoints. They also have some really good lunch deals during the week, which makes it a great option for a weekday meal. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so it can get packed, especially during busy times, and they don't take reservations. But honestly, it's worth the wait. A few things to know: parking can be a little challenging, but I can usually find metered parking or a spot a block or two away. Also, paying cash is a little cheaper than paying by credit card, so keep that in mind. There's also a small unisex restroom available. When I lived in New Jersey, I would sometimes order ahead and take the food home. Now that I live in Florida, whenever I'm back in the area, I always try to make my way here for a little taste of home. Authentic, comforting, and full of Ecuadorian flavor, definitely worth a visit if you're craving a real taste of Ecuador!

FISHER'S CAFE is quintessential North Arlington…read more Nestled on Park Ridge Drive just steps from Ridge Road, this very local eatery caters to North Arlington seniors for breakfast and lunch like no other establishment in the community. While more entrenched places like the Arlington Diner or The Stack have been around longer, FISHER'S CAFE is all about North Arlington as many of their patrons are in walking distance versus driving. They have a great menu and a friendly staff and ownership that truly values and respects their customers. I have always believed that food is secondary when patronizing a restaurant or cafe. What people seek is friendship and being recognized for their business. In my mind, Fisher's Cafe means friendship! I am visiting from out of town but lived in North Arlington years ago when this location was known as Buff's Luncheonette. FISHER'S has transformed the location and has created a real trust with their loyal customers. I had French Toast today with Orange Juice, water and a Hot Tea. The service is friendly, quick and food is good. I enjoy coming here during the holidays because of the decorations that make the environment festive and fun. FISHER'S CAFE is a must for any North Arlington resident because it is a place they can call their own! FISHER'S CAFE: Highly Recommend!

Fishers Cafe reminds me of the perfect quaint breakfast spot in a Hallmark or Lifetime Christmas…read moremovie. This place is decorated from head to toe for Christmas, if not for the food just stop by to look at the interior. The windows have huge displays of Santa's and reindeer and the bar area is filled with nutcrackers. It really is a beautiful sight. Unfortunately, most of the 3 stars I'm giving them is because of their awesome decorations. The food was very lacking for me. My friend and I stopped in for breakfast because the place we originally had in mind was closed on Mondays. We were seated right away and I have to say they had some pretty great breakfast specials. The prices are incredibly reasonable. She got an omelette and rye toast. The omelette was fantastic but the home fries tasted like pork to me and weren't cooked enough. They also didn't have much flavor at all. I decided to try the stuffed French toast. It wasn't stuffed at all, rather blotted with a tiny spot of sweetened cream cheese in between what looked like regular toast. The strawberries were frozen so they arrived mushy on the plate and the nuts it was served with were stale and from a can. I definitely wouldn't suggest trying the French toast, stick to pancakes or waffles. There's tons of parking, it's located right next to a Walgreens. During the holidays I'd say definitely stop in to check out the Christmas decorations but it's not a place I'd go back to just for the food.
