Excellent food and phenomenal service. My husband and I have passed this place for a few years and kept saying "we have to try it". Finally did and so glad we did. The salads were so fresh, food hot as though straight from the oven. We ordered the cabaña platter. The server looked at us like we were crazy because there's a lot on the platter. Tried a bit of everything and packed the rest to take home. Yummy. My husband ordered the combination taco and enchilada & I had the enchiladas blancas. Both dishes were delicious. I didn't get many photos of this place, but I should have. I dropped by for lunch with some friends and it was really good. Unfortunately, I hadn't seen the friends for some time and we got to talking, and you can probably guess what happened. The service was great. I had the chili verde burrito. It was good sized and filling. The pork was tender and the sauce flavorful, but not overly hot. They bring 4 types of complementary salsa of different spice levels. All were excellent. We love trying New Mexican food spots. They serve good portions and the flavor was good. You get bean dip and chips as soon as you are seated. Good flavor on the bean dip, May have some chorizo in it. My boyfriend got a chimichanga with chicken and I got a #9, taco and tamale combo plate with rice and beans. Beans were really good, I liked my crunchy taco. The tamale was quite dry though, not my favorite. I actually really loved the Italian dressing, which might be house made and it had bay leaves in it. It has been awhile since I last reviewed La Cabaña. This place is a locals favorite and is very busy on the weekends with bikers and others passing through town. We started out with complementary Chips, salsa, and bean dip. The chips were hot and fresh. The red salsa is spicy but not too hot and the bean dip is fantastic! I usually order Modello Negro on tap. But today, they didn't have it on tap. So I ordered it in a bottle. Not nearly as good as getting a frozen mug of draft beer. So I took away one star for that. They have a great menu and a few breakfast items. My wife ordered the La Cabaña omelet which was made perfectly and comes with rice & beans. I ordered the Carnitas burrito (Ala carte). Which was fantastic as usual. It's loaded with carnitas and doesn't have the rice and bean fillers that some restaurants use. The service was prompt, friendly and professional. Our server was attentive without being too obtrusive. We usually sit in the bar that has large comfortable booths and is perfect for a group. Overall, a fantastic meal. read more

On a Tuesday afternoon came up and took a little motorcycle ride through the canyon to get to la cabana. We opted to eat outside as it was nice and shaded and there wasn't anyone out there so we had the whole patio to ourselves. Our waiter came out relatively quick and got our drink order down and then came back to grab our food order. There wasn't many options on the menu for me, but since we came around brunch hour I got the omelet with avocado (can't remember the name that it was called) but I was happy they were still serving breakfast. Now this omelet was loaded with avocado all the way through, lots of cheese and a thick fluffy egg covered in red sauce. After a long drive from Arizona and parking our RV for the night, we headed into town to grab some grub for a late lunch/early dinner. We stumbled upon La Cabana Restaurant, a Mexican joint that seemed pretty typical but had some interesting dishes to try. When we walked in, the staff greeted us with big smiles and quickly showed us to our seats. They took our drink orders and gave us some time to check out the menu. They had a simple menu for kids that our little ones were happy with. While we were deciding what to order, the staff brought us free chips with a spicy salsa, a mild one for the kids, and this unexpected but amazing cheese and bean dip. We loved the dip so much that we asked for extra bowls to enjoy before, during, and after our meal. Besides the kids' meals, we ordered the Enchiladas Rancheras, Chicken Caesar Salad, and Camarones La Cabana. My wife got the enchiladas and she devoured them. They were packed with flavor and she couldn't find a single thing to complain about. Our 10-year-old went for the chicken Caesar salad, which came in a crispy taco bowl with fresh lettuce, grilled chicken, and Caesar dressing on the side. The chicken was the highlight--marinated and grilled to perfection, giving the classic salad a tasty Latin twist. Before my meal arrived, I started off with their albondigas soup, which was warm and comforting. If it were colder out, I would've been content ordering just a whole bowl of it. For my main course, I went for the camarones (shrimp) and was pleasantly surprised! Usually, when something is "bacon-wrapped," it's just for show and doesn't add much to the dish. But this was different. The bacon was cooked crispy and wrapped around the shrimp, without overpowering it. Each bite was a delight, especially with the rice and corn that came with it. The portions were generous, so I took the rest home and it was still just as satisfying. The whole family left La Cabana Restaurant happy and full. It was a great find, introducing us to unique dishes and exciting new flavors--a real treat after a long and tiring day. read more
