From the mango margaritas to the guac, this place ROCKS. Sit out on the patio and enjoy the food and service. These guys are spot on with everything. I'm writing this review because the bartender/drink waiter took the hair off my lemon wedge when I showed him the hair and he told the so called Manger/our waiter there was no hair. This was the second lemon wedge on two separate drinks that had small black hair on it on our party's drinks. My family and I ate here on September 3 around 4pm. We ordered our drinks. My daughter noticed a black hair on her lemon wedge on her glass of water so the drink waiter/bartender replaced the water. Later during our meal I notice a small piece of black hair on my lemon wedge on my glass of Cadillac margarita with an upgrade of Patron when we were finishing up our food and drinks I noticed a small black hair on my lemon wedge. I showed the bartender who was our drink waiter. He looked at the lemon wedge as he picked the hair off and said he didn't see anything. I asked for the manager and he pointed to our waiter who I knew was not the manager and the waiter/bartender said there was no hair on the lemon and I said it was hair. By this time my son in law had already paid the check. I did not want a refund just an apology and an offer of another drink. But I got nothing but deception from the bartender/waiter and a look of confusion from the waiter/manger. I end this review with the food was good read more

We stopped here on our way home. My husband had the Chili Relleno combo plate and I had the enchiladas and the meals were good. The server was excellent and the entire staff was attentive. The salads were so fresh, food hot as though straight from the oven. We ordered the cabaña platter. The server looked at us like we were crazy because there's a lot on the platter. I didn't get many photos of this place, but I should have. I dropped by for lunch with some friends and it was really good. Unfortunately, I hadn't seen the friends for some time and we got to talking, and you can probably guess what happened. The service was great. I had the chili verde burrito. It was good sized and filling. The pork was tender and the sauce flavorful, but not overly hot. They bring 4 types of complementary salsa of different spice levels. All were excellent. I went to this restaurant pre pandemic and food and atmosphere was always great. I took my daughter and grandkids here today June 25, 3026 and was surprised the place was nearly empty but I now see why . I order a $21.00 chicken burrito . What I received was a huge scoop of refried beans , tiny pieces of chicken that you couldn't even taste, nor feel, due to all the refried beans, wrapped up in a soggy tortilla. and on a plate with more refried beans and very plain/tasteless Mexican rice. I voiced my complaint to the head waiter who told me that's just the way it is. Never offered to change it out. I then opened up my burrito , took the soggy tortilla off , and attempted to it as is. It was like eating a load of canned refried beans. Not acceptable by any measure. I asked the waiter if I could please get a different dish. He argued with me, said no one else has ever complained about the burrito before. I showed him my plate with the burrito opened up. I showed him the soggy tortilla, the filling the consisted of almost all refried beans, and the tiny pieces of chicken. He continued to argue with me. He finally said he'd go talk to his boss, then came back and said, ok what do you want I asked him for the menu, chose a tostada to go which was less expensive, and I still got charged for the more expensive burrito I didn't touch. My daughter ordered a child's plate with a cheese enchilada to share between her 2 children. The only thing they touched was a little bit of the beans. They didn't like the rice (they normally like rice) and spit out their first bite of their enchilada and both proclaimed they didn't like it. (They normally like that as well. I tasted it to see if it was the enchilada that was the problem or the kids were just being fussy. It was the enchilada. Tasted like a soggy tortilla with red sauce poured on it. After having such a difficult time changing mine out I just paid for theirs and said nothing about it. My daughter ordered chicken taquitos which she said were ok but store bought would have been just as good Never again will I be back. Sad, because I used to really like this place. Home-made food is starting to surpass restaurant food by far now, especially for the prices they are charging. It used to be a treat to eat out. Not so much now. read more

Been stopping off at La Cabaña for many years on the way back from Tehachapi or some outing in the desert, and it has never disappointed. Even made a number of trips from the SFV just to have dinner here. The Albondigas Soup is the best!! The only problem is that after chips, salsa and soup, along with a beer of two, it doesn't leave much room for anything else. Everything that I have tried there has always been delicious, and those that I have had repeatedly always remain consistently good, like the Albondigas Soup. The staff has always been welcoming and attentive, and I have never had any kind of issue whatsoever. It has been awhile since I last reviewed La Cabaña. This place is a locals favorite and is very busy on the weekends with bikers and others passing through town. We started out with complementary Chips, salsa, and bean dip. The chips were hot and fresh. The red salsa is spicy but not too hot and the bean dip is fantastic! I usually order Modello Negro on tap. But today, they didn't have it on tap. So I ordered it in a bottle. Not nearly as good as getting a frozen mug of draft beer. So I took away one star for that. They have a great menu and a few breakfast items. My wife ordered the La Cabaña omelet which was made perfectly and comes with rice & beans. I ordered the Carnitas burrito (Ala carte). Which was fantastic as usual. It's loaded with carnitas and doesn't have the rice and bean fillers that some restaurants use. The service was prompt, friendly and professional. Our server was attentive without being too obtrusive. We usually sit in the bar that has large comfortable booths and is perfect for a group. Overall, a fantastic meal. read more

We love trying New Mexican food spots. They serve good portions and the flavor was good. You get bean dip and chips as soon as you are seated. Good flavor on the bean dip, May have some chorizo in it. My boyfriend got a chimichanga with chicken and I got a #9, taco and tamale combo plate with rice and beans. Beans were really good, I liked my crunchy taco. The tamale was quite dry though, not my favorite. I actually really loved the Italian dressing, which might be house made and it had bay leaves in it. On a Tuesday afternoon came up and took a little motorcycle ride through the canyon to get to la cabana. We opted to eat outside as it was nice and shaded and there wasn't anyone out there so we had the whole patio to ourselves. Our waiter came out relatively quick and got our drink order down and then came back to grab our food order. There wasn't many options on the menu for me, but since we came around brunch hour I got the omelet with avocado (can't remember the name that it was called) but I was happy they were still serving breakfast. Now this omelet was loaded with avocado all the way through, lots of cheese and a thick fluffy egg covered in red sauce. It was very filling and so were the chips and salsa and bean dip they had before we got our meal. Service was excellent, food was good and it was a great time with some friends! read more
