1$ oysters yay! Besides that nay! Decided to order a bunch of oysters because the price is right so why the heck not. The person who Shucked them is a pro A+. I will be back just for oysters without a doubt. Now let's get in to the actual menu, the shrimp tempura is your basic shrimp tempura these however were heavily battered and extremely greasy, the dipping sauce wasn't good either reminded me of a milky soya sauce that should be changed asap. Then there was the beef tattaki which was bland and missing salt. The grilled octopus salad was meh and the lamb ravioli was actually just buttery dumplings with a ginger sauce they were ok but wouldn't order it again, and last but not least the mini burgers they were way over cooked and bland, needs a pickle and some mayo. The place is beyond expensive after being handed a 200 $ bill i just laughed to myself there's way better places that this money could of been blown this place not so much. Strictly a oyster spot, and a drink spot other then that it's a pass.

The dumplings were super fresh tasting and flavorful. I was tempered to get a 2nd order but wanted to save room for others options. The mac & cheese was divine. Again very flavorful with a creamy bechemel sauce as the base. I didn't want it to end. American hip hop was Playing to create the vibe and the front two tables are great when it's warm to have that outdoor element. Overall I was pleasantly surprised! Give it a try!

I was so excited as this was my first choice for their Lobster and Gravy Poutine with Homemade Tater toys. When I had arrived they were fully booked with reservations for the evening. I was not happy with the price and portion of the poutine. It came with very little lobster and 5 homemade tater tots. It tasted amazingly though. As well when they are cooking it does smell a bit fishy throughout the night with the seafood. But with a small place that is to be expected. Throughout the night the service wasn't that great as often I needed water throughout the meal. There is also only one bathroom that is shared between men and woman. So you are left waiting if it's busy. Overall good tasting food but too small of a portion and pricey. I could also suggest more visits to the table by the waitstaff it's a small place and there were many staff to help.

We were a group of 3 and got a reservation very last minute. We went for the 1$ oysters and I have to say the oysters were meaty and tasty. Very worth it. Since we were a small group we got to try many different plates. However the tapas were a bit disappointing. We had the salmon belly. The lamb dumplings. The salmon tartar which everybody says is amazing in their reviews - I personally thought it was just o.k. We also had the Mac and cheese cochon , the crab bites. And we had the filet mignon poutine which our waiter said was his favorite. I didn't find anything special about it at all. And the tapas are quite pricy!! All tapas were pretty boring except the salmon belly which was phenomenal!!! Our waiter was extremely polite and super friendly. The service was good. I would only go back for 1$ oysters and the salmon belly. we also tried the churros for desert and they were very good although not the best I've had - the chef was not very generous with the dulce de lèche sauce. I had to ask twice to bring me more. For 3 people the bill came out to 240$ including tip which included a bottle of wine and 2 beers.

Tapas bar with an Asian twist... Love it! General Tao's Poutine is a must try. Dynamic staff and very accommodating owner. The location is small but good enough to sit a group of 20-25 at the same table If you are looking for a private party. Reservation is recommended on weekends.

I loved the mojito with fresh strawberry and lichee! We ordered the octopus salad, the crab bites on tortilla, the pork belly, the frog legs and the macaroni and cheese with duck asian style. Although the octopus salad was a bit too salty, the flavours and textures were very good. The crab on tortilla were good, but needed some acidity to balance the creaminess. The pork belly was just amazing! It melted in my mouth and the seasoning was perfect! The frog legs were bland and, therefore, very disappointing. The macaroni and cheese was served last. It was good, but we were almost full so it was way too rich for us. The service was very good and the staff is friendly. However, the prices are slightly expensive for the neighborhood. For eg, 12$ for the mojito before tax and tips. Overall, I would still recommend the restaurant for their drinks and pork belly dish.

Overall good experience! Oyster are to die for especially when they are 1$!!! Waiters were nice as well

We ordered 8 tapas for 4 girls like the waitor suggested. It was way too much. 6 wouldve been perfect. So, the food started off really yummy - crab bites, beef filet mignon, salmon and octopus salad (if im not mistaken). Then went downhill with the frog legs, chicken bites and mac n cheese. It wasnt so bad but the first 4, i loved! Service is great and staff is super friendly.

They serve everything tapas style here meaning small plates that you share with others. Even the bowls are a little smaller portioned, a little harder to share. However I think the hot appetizers like the takoyaki (octopus balls), okonomiyaki (japanese omelette/pancake), and the karage (fried chicken) are the must tries! They are super beginner friendly options that taste super good! Lots of umami flavor and they are perfectly sized and portioned for sharing. I also enjoyed their mocktail drinks. The three in the photo are the three that they have. They are all green haha. I really liked the matcha one, it just tastes like a matcha latte but better! All the items came out one by one, and were nicely timed. Once we finished an item another came out! Although they were kind of busy I think they did a great job at service. The ambiance is also amazing, I love the indoor decor.

The vibes are casual, the waiters joke and talk in a more hang out way, and there's no rush to eat and move. They recommend the group meal offering and I can report that it is a TON of food and definitely all their best items. Our colleagues that shared it were the happiest, though they admit they could never hear what was delivered and they are blindly with no reference. I had skewers that I quite enjoyed, though one had enough cheese to last me a week, some of the best edamame (everyone wanted some), and a helping of rice due to my gluten free needs. The cocktails were really something special, definitely a menu you want to drink through. I wanted to love Biirū, but I do admit the reviews around the meal experience and communication from the waiters was fairly accurate. I don't think a few of us would've come here with our allergies had it not been a work dinner. Their understanding of celiac disease was low, like sure I could eat the soy sauce and not react right now, but I will later and that shouldn't be a risk a business presents. Further, we had to confirm 4 times that one dish was made on its own pan due to a severe anaphylactic allergy. The staff don't seem to speak to one another, so the delivery of food was horrible with parts going to one end when they belonged elsewhere.

I was poutine-curious but was unsure about the foie gras gravy. Andrew ordered the poutine with the duck confit. He loved it and said it was among the best poutine he has had. I went for the traditional mussels as Andrew said this is a thing to get in Montreal, they will do it well. He was right, the bowl was huge and the mussels and sauce were excellent. The only thing I would change is I like a baguette with mussels more than fries so if that is an available substitution I would be all in. Followed by duck confit poutine with foie grau gravy - perfectly cooked and a lovely intro to poutine in general. Decent wine and beer selection. Would recommend with the expectation to receive very lax service.

The service was friendly but they seemed short staffed that night. We were trying to refill our water glasses but it took a while since I couldn't find any waiter or waitress around. Now let's start with the food: Focaccia: 5/5 bread was warm, toasty and tasty but the dip was the highlight Leeks with smoked mackerel, mustard, tobikko: (2.5/5) too creamy with a hint of mackerel and leeks Calamari chou-fleur, asian pear, chili beurre blanc: (2/5) very soupy and too much cream and not flavorful Black cod miso sauce, daikon, kale: (2.5/5) cod was tender but my bite had too much miso on it. It was extremely salty and not well balanced Beef tartare with mushrooms, Asiago: (1/5) mushy texture and way too much Asiago cheese. Flank steak with burnt chili salsa, szechuan pepper sauce, pickled peppers: (2/5) steak was not tender at all and the sauce was overwhelming Fried sea bass with bok choy, soya, nuoc mam (3/5): presentation was great but too many bones with too little meat. Flavor was good and I enjoyed the warm crispy fish with the Vietnamese style salad Overall, my special dinner was disappointing. I felt like the main ingredient never shined and their cheese or cream or sauce were just too overpowering. I really wanted to like Cadet but it fell short of my expectations.

I had the most amazing meal here. Genuinely the BEST beef tartare i've ever had in my life, it was chopped perfectly and flavor wise just absolute perfection. Rich, cheesy but still fresh and the beef flavor was present and well seasoned. Focaccia was great as well, the grill flavor really stuck with me and was a perfect touch of crunch and flavor. I enjoyed my leeks as well, i've never had them prepared this way so it was a unique touch. Their cocktails were good with some nice twists on classics, I got the oolong old fashion which was a pretty classic old fashion with a slight tea after taste. the highlight of the meal though was the desert . it was brûlée bananas with a chocolate cheesecake and omg that was the best touch to the meal ever. we got the wine pairing with it as well and they went together like bread and butter. the wine was sweet but had a fruitier taste to counteract the richness of the banana and chocolate. it was the most delightful experience and wasn't a bank breaker either. service here was attentive and amazing, extremely friendly and informative. the ambiance was on the fancier side, with darker lighting. during my time in montreal, this restaurant easily took home my favorite.

We were in Montreal for several days and decided to go casual on our anniversary and we were craving Mexican food. We made a reservation as the place is crazy busy. We arrived, had to wait a few minutes before we were seated. The hostess looked up our reservation and seated us without saying anything to us. We took our seats and looked at drinks before looking at the menu. Our server took awhile to come to our table, took our drink order and an appetizer order and left. The drinks finally came out along with the chips and guacamole and we decided to make our decision on dinner. We waited, and waited, and waited about 40 minutes for our server to come back to take our dinner order. She was fairly nice, but rushed. Again, we waited and waited and waited for our dinners. We were enjoyed the food, it was flavorful, seasoned well, and really filled our craving for Mexican food. After we finished our dinner, again we waited, waited, and waited for our server to come back to our table. She never checked on us as to how we were enjoying our food. She brought the check, we paid, stood to leave and she said thank you as my husband handed the check back to her. He quickly mentioned it was our anniversary, she stopped and asked if we would want to sit back down and she would bring us a dessert. It was nice to offer, but she could have learned this if she would have taken a moment to talk to us. We didn't need a long conversation, just to feel welcome, and we felt in the way as they were busy. We thanked her, but we didn't want to spend an hour waiting for a dessert, so we graciously declined and left. It really is a shame. If the service was better, and the food came out quickly, they could turn tables quicker. I don't know if they are short staffed, but it really was disappointing.
