Service and drinks are great, the food is mediocre. The Potato pancakes taste like tortillas with sauce (out the can) on top. The meat balls taste like they come frozen and they are served with the same sauce (out the can). The ribeye was cooked to perfection and the side salad was fresh and delicious. The corn salad was also delicious.

I went to La Brasa last week at 124 Broadway, Somerville, MA. This spot features a wide variety of elevated dishes from around the world For appetizers we had the beet salad which had beets, fennel, apple, and mustard. We also had the elote which is Mexican street corn and flautas which were fried tortillas with meat inside. Finally, for apps we had the deviled eggs which had onion and chipotle aioli. For main dishes we had the squid ink pasta. This pasta was so fresh and homemade (so if you like the taste of fish this one is for you!) For dessert we had the banana pudding with ice cream. This had a great balance of sweetness. Would order this again! My personal favorites we had were the the street corn and the deviled eggs. Each dish was elevated in such a way that you just wanted to eat more and more of it! This is the perfect spot to meet a friend or have a nice date. The ambiance is classy and romantic check it out if you are in the area! Affordability: 6/10 Ambiance: 8/10 Food: 8/10

Beautiful atmosphere. It's a shame the food and service didn't match up. It took way too long for the server to take our drink order considering we were the only table. She continued to be lackluster. The shiitake mushroom crepe, flautas and arancini were overcooked. The highlights of the meal were the shrimp pupusa and Mexican street corn. Both delicious.

Honestly the food best experience. Me and my bf went for the Wednes-date thing and it was so much fun! We got a 3 course meal that was chosen by the chef and dollar oysters!!! Our server was super nice and explained all the interesting dishes, sauces, and how to eat oysters. So much fun!

The vibe here was great. I loved all the plants everywhere. They had a modified menu do to COVID so somethings that I really wanted to try were not available. My friend and I both had the burning passion to drink and it was delicious! I really enjoyed the burnt tortilla seasoning salt rim - it sounds weird but it was good, had a little spicy kick to it. The table shared the guac, it was very smooth and creamy and had a strong lime flavor. I really enjoyed it - it was new and exciting for guac. I had the veggie quesadilla for dinner - heirloom corn tortilla, cauliflower, poblano chili, cheddar cheese - it was good. It felt like it had meat in it, but it didn't. I liked it.

You walk in and are immediately welcomed with the warm smell of the wood oven, cool greenery and cozy decorations! This paired with $1 oyster special was exactly what we needed on a cold fall day. The food and service were excellent, and we stayed and dined for quite some time. My favorites were the lamb tostada and the tacos for appetizers. The swordfish and the duck entrees were amazing- served in a creamy sauce and mole sauce respectively, and very nicely arranged! Great decor and atmosphere and great food!

They were serving a half rack of ribs special, served with mac and cheese, cornbread, and onion rings. I mean what can I say--everything was absolutely delicious. One of the best mac n cheeses I've had. Cornbread was blueberry and delicious. Ribs?? Yum. The sauce on top was sweet and the ribs fell off the bone. Onion rings were delicious. Yup--good choice coming here. While sadly this dish is not one of their regular menu items, it still showed me the quality of food this place produces. I did mention to our server that this dish should be rotated onto their menu (please!!) The ambiance is intimate and perfect for a date night or special occasion. The couple next to us was actually celebrating their anniversary and they had a handwritten card on the table waiting for them, it's these little touches that go a long way. Plus the food at the tables around us looked delicious. I will be back to try their official menu, but was thoroughly impressed and left dreaming about the mac n cheese.

They do a unique, fusion-y variety of small plates that are great to share with friends and family. Service is wonderful. Their menu often changes, but there are a few things that are consistent. Their infamous black sea cornbread deserves all the hype. The avocado muhammara is excellent and creamy, paired well with the burrata. Love their harissa barbecue duck skewer. The fried chicken that comes around during the night is also solid. Other dishes that I love that I'm not sure are year-round: Asian pear salad, scallop crisp, and lentil nachos. I think Sarma can be a bit inconsistent at times. I've had very salty brussels sprouts and pastitsio before.

I kept checking daily for cancelations and signing up and after a few missed opening, I was lucky to snatch a reservation that opened up due to cancellation. This was a restaurant that my husband had wanted to try so I was diligently checking for cancelation before his surgery. We were so lucky to go just before he had surgery with the children. The restaurant does not have parking, however there is street parking. The vibe was lively and the staff were amazing during our visit. We tried a number of dishes but hands down my two favorite was the Black Sea cornbread and the fried chicken. I would totally order these again in a subsequent visit. You can let the waitress who serve you know that you want the fried chicken as it is not on the menu for ordering. The children enjoyed their lamb kothe sliders. We tried the warm gyro bread and the avocado muhummara. I think for a first time, it was worth getting. If visiting a second time, I would try something else though. Same for the octopus souvlaki, would try only once. The Tunisian brik tacos, which has tuna, was slightly on the salty side. We actually didn't finish this as well as the Brussels sprout bravas. Key takeaway, book a reservation but also check back for cancellations because they do turn up and you can sign up for emails to be notified of cancellations. Service and atmosphere are great. The cornbread and fried chicken are musts!!! See my pictures.

Having walked past it many times, I expected the interior to be very dark inside, but it was actually mostly white and bright, very classy but not what I was expecting. They brought us to our table and I had a cute chair for my purse. We each got a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, and ordered a half dozen oysters. Oysters were fresh and we liked the plating. They also served us warm bread with a sea salt truffle butter I believe. It was yummy! They did charge for seconds of bread so we opted out. We each ordered the Thursday night prime rib special. This special wasn't on the physical menu, but we saw it advertised on the tablet in our hotel room. It came with these delicious glazed carrots and a mashed potato. The prime rib was excellent, and paired in the horseradish sauce, delicious! A large piece of meat and cooked to perfection. I ordered mine medium which was awesome, just the perfect amount of tenderness. After finishing our dinner, we were quite full, so we didn't order a dessert. However, since we were celebrating, they also gave us a mini treat which was nice. We were surprised to see how popular this spot was for groups, and ongoers at the Casino dressed more casually. Of course this is fine dining in the Boston area so the prices reflect that. I will say the food was very good and the service was too. Often I go to fancy restaurants and feel I did not get my moneys worth, but at Rare Steakhouse, I did.
