    *Yellow Fin Tuna Crudo

I wanted to like Field and Vine so much... I just felt like the food was overpriced for what it was. The portions were also a bit small. The flavor was lacking in the appetizer (the crudo?) and the sausage dish. The swordfish was definitely the best dish - perfectly cooked and flavorful. The ingredients were very fresh and high quality but we were underwhelmed unfortunately. I loved the ambiance and service. Both were impressive.

Had a bit of a tough time deciding if this was going to be a 3 or 4 star review, but I need to settle on a 3. Ambiance was really nice here and service was good as well, but can't say it was great which is okay. The part that dropped off the extra star for me was the food ultimately. It was pretty good, but idk, maybe I just had higher expectations. The beef tartare just had too many greens in it. I see what they were trying to do, but the ball was dropped. They also had a steak special and for the price you pay for it, definitely not justified. Tho the portion wasn't the issue, the steak was incredibly chewy and wasn't good. The taste was flat. If I had to say which item stood out the most in terms of taste and being different, it had to be the house pickles. Oh... and just skip the desserts.

Love this place! The restaurant is super cute and covered with plants. I thought about asking for some pointers about keeping houseplants alive but decided instead to focus on the menu. They serve beer and wine, no cocktails, but I loved the glass of red I tried (enough to order a second glass). Upon reading the menu, I didn't feel super excited; however every single dish hit the mark. The beef tartare is a must-try along with the cast iron cornbread. I feel like with my meals in the boston area it is rare to be obsessed with every item we order, but here is an exception. The flavors were well balanced on every single dish and I loved them all. The service was wonderful as well. Our server was incredible kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend Field & Vine

Farm to table vibes with great plant/natural decor! It's an intimate small plates restaurant that recommended 2 plates per person. We tried the Tuna Carpaccio (5/5 creative with beets too), Scallion Cheddar Cornbread (5/5 their signature), Kale Salad (4/5), King Oyster Mushrooms (5/5 great flavors), Bavette Steak (5/5), Carrots (5/5), Grilled Fish Collar (5/5 and also interesting flavors), and the Duck (4/5). For dessert, we tried the Miso Apple Cake (the table favorite), Chocolate Pot de Crème, and Dark Chocolate Sorbet. The one thing is that this place is a bit particular. They're quite strict on arrival time (part of our party was going to be 5 minutes late) and ordering (had to be all at once), and this came across a bit off putting. The food was good though, and it was still an overall great meal!

Came here for an anniversary dinner and it was a nice spot to celebrate, but didn't wow us. We had the beef tartare, scallion cornbread, charred cabbage, pork sausage, mushrooms, tuna collar special and the ice-cream sandwich. I was looking forward to the beef tartare but we didn't end up getting much beef, it was hiding under a bunch of greens (see pic) and we each got about 2 bites worth. My favorites were the scallion cornbread and the tuna collar special. The collar was cooked perfectly - so tender and a good sized portion, it was the most memorable part of the meal me. Sausage and mushrooms were okay. The cabbage had good flavor, but it was hard to cut with the very dull knife provided (this was true for all the knives - they were all strangely dull) and the dressing became a watery mess within a min of it being dropped at the table. The icecream sandwich also left a lot to be desired, the macaron shell just came off as sort of a stale texture, but the lemony flavor was nice. I did like the glass of sauv blanc with the meal - it was refreshing and had a lovely minerality to it. As for service, the server was attentive and prompt without being invasive, and the food runners staggered the plates nicely over the course of the meal. Ambiance is nice with an upscale but casual farmhouse meets mid century modern vibe- the vine decor is unique. Overall I enjoyed my time at the restaurant but it was not a stand out in terms of innovative farm to table offerings.

Cute place & very friendly service. Our fave bartender works here so we had to check it out. We had the tuna carpaccio (amazing), the beef tartare and the pork loin. Absolutely loved the tuna! We heard the couple next to us order the beef tartare without the peanuts and wondered why! The tartare is good but the taste was completely overpowered by the peanuts. Great tip for our next visit. The pork was plain and I wouldn't order it again. Gratuity is automatically included (20%) and there is a kitchen appreciation fee as well. I think we will definitely be back for the tuna/drinks but I would skip dinner.

Top 4 in the city. It seems silly to split hairs when parsing the elite restaurants in and around Boston. Field & Vine is one of them. There have been a spat of disgruntled yelpers spouting off about F&V. Pay them no mind. The Parisienne Gnocci is spectacular. It's still the only restaurant around that serves tomatoes for $19 and you finish wanting more . . . And then there's the Sweet Corn Habanero Ice Cream. I ate four scoops. FOUR!

A literal hidden gem inside an alley, Field and Vine is worth discovering. A bright green door leads you inside where you are greeted by a wall of plants and natural decor. Overall vibe was romantic and intimate in a small, cozy setting. The food is high quality and filling. The veggie dishes impress just as much as the main protein courses. They are sizable portions meant to be shared. Our favorites were the tuna carpaccio, cornbread, cavatelli, and cabbage. Who knew you could make a grilled cabbage so delicious?! The garlic and mushroom combo with the cavatelli was magical. We had great service and left happy and full. For a nice dinner of 5 dishes and a glass of wine, our bill was only $150 which was very reasonable. Perfect spot for date night or meeting another couple out.

Ambiance & decor was a 12/10. Best in Boston on god. We went with my mom who is a crazy plant lady and she was in love with all the plants and arrangements. So many details. Wow. Oh! The food! Food was great #f2t #farmtotable. The cabbage was surprisingly the star of the night! It's charred in a brown butter on this garlicky cream boy oh boy. Can't wait to go back.

I came here for a special seafood tasting menu. It's all unique items so I won't break them down. But every dish was amazing and full of flavors. Their bread/flatbread is awesome too. The staff there are among the friendliest I have experienced at a restaurant, which is saying a lot. I will def come here again and try out the regular menu and highly recommend everyone to try this place out 5/5

I don't even know what to say (proceeds to say). Food was beyond what we expected, ambiance was great, service was super nice. Was a bit expensive but totally worth it. Highly recommend everything.

Second time coming here. Unbelievable food, service, ambiance = 10/10 Had the orange wine to pair with my meal. For food: Started with the oysters and ceviche, next we're the crispy beets and the cornbread, next was the warm cheese and Brussels sprouts, and lastly was the swordfish. For dessert: We had the rosemary and almond cake The menu is quite strange as it pairs things that typically would not be paired together. However, when you try it, you're left in awe and a "why have we not tried this before" experience. The plates are small but meant to share. Do not underestimate the size because it will fill you up! For our party of four, a serving of 8-10 dishes were recommended. My favorite part of this restaurant is that the menu is seasonal and they use fresh ingredients. It's guaranteed that you'll have a different meal every time you come!

We arrived early for our 5:30 reservation and were seated right away. Service was outstanding. Roque was attentive, polished, and genuinely five-star throughout the evening. Complimentary warm bread with delicious butter arrived right away--always appreciated. We started with an espresso martini--smooth, well-balanced, and expertly executed, with rich espresso flavor, a subtle touch of sweetness, and a velvety, creamy foam. The roasted beet and goat cheese salad was fresh and nicely dressed, and the Jr. Captain (crispy shrimp, calamari, and haddock) was perfectly prepared. For mains, I had the crab custard haddock with mushrooms on the side--rich, flavorful, and cooked just right. My husband ordered the Faroe Island salmon with mashed potatoes and garlic sticky rice, and everything on his plate was equally well prepared. Every dish was thoughtfully executed--you can truly taste the quality. We left completely satisfied--great food, exceptional service, and a beautiful setting. It's the kind of place that reminds you why you love dining out--we'll definitely be back.

There's plenty of bike parking by the beer yard. It was a nice day so we wanted to sit outside and have a few beers in the Hog Island beer garden. Service was great. They were getting prepared for the busy season training some folks, and everyone was very friendly and hospitable. The beer garden itself was a huge grassy area with plenty of seating, a mix of picnic tables and regular tables with chairs. Despite it being right by the woods it didn't seem too buggy which was really nice. After hanging out a bit we decided to get dinner there. We were able to order food right at the beer garden and pick it up at the take out window. The food was awesome! We got a bowl of clam chowder, loaded tater tots, and the Rt 6 bacon cheeseburger with a side of greens. First, they're not messing around when they say 'loaded' tots! Some places put a sad little drizzle of cheese sauce on top, but theirs were thoroughly covered with a delicious beer cheese sauce, fresh bacon, and scallions. The clam chowder was great! Not too thick, lots of clams and clam flavor. And the burger was amazing! A nice, thick, juicy patty that was perfectly cooked, a really fresh brioche style bun with lots of flavorful toppings. We walked through the restaurant itself to use the bathroom and it seemed like they had a lot of seating, a nice bar, and a patio area. The only bathrooms being inside the restaurant was a little annoying, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they'll have some port-o-potties by the beer yard come the full fledged busy season. Overall a really nice time and we look forward to returning!

The oysters were fresh and briney, a highlight of our meal, being so close to the ocean. The rest of the meal was just OK. Located in the lobby of the Cardiovascular Center at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Natural Foods Cafe is a case-study on how not to run a cafe in a busy hospital. I'm not going to spend much time on the food. It's fine. Lot's of sandwiches and salads from which to choose. The problem with Natural Foods Cafe is the service. Rarely opening on time, the staff do not seem to be concerned about following any sort of schedule. Many patients' family members and the hospital staff have schedules to keep and need to be able to get breakfast and lunch in a timely fashion. That can't happen when Natural Foods Cafe remains closed 10 minutes after it is supposed to open. Similarly, as people line-up in front of the counter to order, staff members continue to talk to each other and do anything other than attend to the needs of customers. Same story at the cash register, the staff often are doing something else (putting away stock or arranging displays) and have their backs to the customers who are lining up at the register. Customers will routinely wait up to five minute to get noticed. I've just stopped going to Natural Foods Cafe. It's just not worth it. The Hospital cafeteria does a fine job and is much more attentive to the customers.
