What a great bar!! We wandered the alleyways and I spotted this charming place.. so we went in to have a drink. We ordered margaritas and they were so pretty! And delicious!! Great service.. friendly and never rushed to turn over a table.. loved Barcelona!

I am pretty surprised by the Yelp reviews for this restaurant! Actually, I am very very surprised by the low ball rating on Yelp. It almost makes me question my wonderful experience at this fabulous restaurant. It was one of my favorite places that I ate when I was in the gothic center. They offer a wide range of tapas. I particularly enjoyed their shrimp and mussels. Please take a look at my photos. My photos will show your their great presentation of their dishes. It's simple, yet dressed up with simple herb garnishing. I also highly recommend their pitcher of sangria. My sister and I ended with a good buzz from the tasty drink. I would say that their pitches will give you about 8 to 10 cups of sangria.

Our absolute favorite restaurant in this Gothic section of town. Our waiter was phenomenal and I am upset I can't remember his name. He made the experience even better. The ambience is so charming with the old brick walls. We ate inside toward the back. the food was excellent as was the wine. Shout out to the vegetable rolls and the monkfish

I really, really wanted to like this place. I took a picture of it to remind myself to return the next night. Unfortunately, this well decorated, fast and friendly tapas bar fell short in the food department. Ordered nachos, sea bass, padron peppers, spring rolls and pork belly. All seemed to be lacking seasoning. Nachos were actually just chips and salsa with guacamole. Have a drink here, take some pics but grab tapas elsewhere.

Decor is modern & industrial

In the heart of the Gothic district, you probably walked by this place and noted the huge copper barrels of beer on top of the bar. The decor is so inviting with the mixture of the exposed brick arches and the Edison bulbs and modern industrial lights. We were drawn in to the ambiance and open space. It is great for groups and it has plenty of seating. The service is absolutely friendly and one of the best we had experienced in Barcelona. It was attentive from start to postres. We were in the mood for fish and vegetables as we have had our fill on paella and potato. It was time for some grilled fish and vegetables. Our meal included : 1. Fried artichoke chips with foie gras drizzle. WOW - I could drink the drizzle. 2. Grilled vegetables in olive oil and romesco sauce. I loved the char flavor. 3. Grillled whole sea bass. White & flakey ! 4. Grilled salmon with potato. The middle is still sashimi grade and it was fresh and simple. 5. Tuna tartar. This seemed to be a crowd favorite as I could see this dish going to other tables. Staked on top of avocado and served with toast, it was a well balanced meal with a side salad. 6. Kare Kare - braised oxtail in peanut and vegetable sauce. I am Filipina and I was a little afraid of ordering this in Spain as it is a Filipino dish, but I was loving it. The sauce it's brothy and the meat was fall off the bone. It is tapas style so you get 2 pieces and it is delicious. Service was so attentive and spot on at every moment. They always cleared the tables to allow room for more food and our vino tinto and beer was always full. I am so glad we stumbled on this place and highly recommend it.

The ambiance note the hanging lights!

I loved the atmosphere. The lights hanging above and the super modern decor made us want to stop by. I ordered the tuna tar tar and had not complaints...it was absolutely fantastic. However, it only came with three small pieces of bread and the side salad could of used some dressing. The tuna tar tar was quite large and the tuna was awesome. My friend ordered the guacamole and literally it could of been a side dish it was super small. Why the four stars? We asked if the check could be spilt and were promptly told no. Maybe splitting the check here is not the norm, but the service could of been a bit more friendly. They had sangria on tap..so that's pretty awesome. Overall, a great spot for ambiance and food is decent, but service could use a little work. Also, they have a menu in English so that was a major pluss and made ordering alot easier!

I'm surprised that this place has only three stars. My sister and I stumbled upon this place strolling through Gothic Center. It was one of the prettiest and cutest restaurants that we saw while we were searching for a place to eat dinner. We decided to give this place a try and I was not disappointed. I would say that the price was on the pricier side, but the food and the ambiance was perfect. First of all, this was a gorgeous place. We wanted to eat our dinner outside, so we asked for a patio seat. Our seat was beautiful. You could see the dark Gothic building surrounding us. There was a gorgeous wall covered in luscious greenery on one corner. The walls were covered in lights. It was relaxing and I feel like a good use of our time in Barcelona. We got to experience Gothic Center while we ate our dinner. We ordered mussels, shrimp, and tar tare. The mussels were in a delicious sauce and the shrimps were huge. They were so flavorful and delicious. The tar tare came with a simple side salad and slices of toasted baguette for you to make your own crostini. My sister and I also ordered a pitcher of sangria which was perfect with our meal. It was enough for two of us and gave us a nice buzz for our walk back to our airbnb. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to look for a nice place to enjoy dinner one your stay in Barcelona, especially if you want to experience Gothic Center.

Grilled Octopus

Really good cocktail drinks! Had the grilled octopus and braised chicken with Padrón peppers which were flavorful.

This place is great. Menus in English, Spanish, or Catalan. Servers are all fluent in all 3 - a little frustrating if you are trying to practice your Spanish, but leads to receiving the meal you think you ordered. Friendly service, great food, and the sangria is fabulous. I'd probably rate it at 4 or 4.5 stars but the service is over the top. The food and sangria were so good I forgot to take many pictures.

Cava sangria

The cutest place and right in the Gothic district. They have a good amount of vegan/veggie options and the prices were not too bad. Could have done without ordering the eggplant, was extremely oily. Otherwise would go back just for the ambiance.

Very good patatas bravas and gazpacho. The gazpacho was incredible and you must try it. Also their tatar of salmon or tuna. It was very tasty.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. We were happy to enter the cozy La Alcoba Azul and seated by a smiling host immediately & presented with menus. The interior looks almost like a wine cellar with brick vaulted ceilings. The offerings are best described as fusion tapas but there are a few traditional bites as well. Our waiter presented us with an amuse bouché of pumpkin hummus topped with roasted pepitas on an herbed toasted baguette crisp. DELICIOUS! We confidently ordered the tomato tartare with avocado cream, basil, olive powder and rosemary olive oil caviar as well as a half order of cured Iberican meats featuring chorizo, loin, sausage and ham, an order of the hummus with black olives, parsley, pine nuts and pita triangles. All were terrific! We especially enjoyed the meats and tomato tartare. I enjoyed a red sangria that was satisfying and happened to be topped with cinnamon...a first and welcome addition for me. La Alcoba Azul is a spot we'll keep on our tapas go to list! You shouldn't hesitate to visit.

Our server, Amaya, was funny, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. He took great care of us, and every single recommendation he made was delicious. I wish I knew all the Spanish names of the dishes because everything was amazing. The highlights for us were the Bacalao -- so tender and full of flavor -- and honestly the best octopus I've ever had in my life. We also loved the soft steak with duck liver served on a slice of French baguette, the shrimp skewers, patatas, and the Spanish ham with tomato toasts. Every dish was unforgettable. On top of the incredible food, the restaurant itself has such an elegant atmosphere with beautiful décor that made the whole dining experience even more special. While all of the food was great, for me the codfish was hands-down the star of the show and probably one of the best dishes that I ate on the trip. The flavor of the sauce combined with the texture of the fish actually blew me away, and I can see why my server highly recommended this to me.
