Lumi was so helpful and nice during our time there. It was my friends birthday and Lumi was also taking pictures for us. She never showed any hint of apprehension at all, totally the opposite. We ordered the duck liver pate, foie gras which came with toasted rye bread. The duck was creamy and delicious. We also ordered the paella seafood. They bring it near the table and a waiter will place it on the plate with ample amounts of shrimps, clams, mussels and calamari. I believe the rice may have some octopus ink with the darker color and green peas. Bithbof us devoured our paella. The truffle chocolate balls were silky and chocolaty. It was a perfect evening to dine around. Met also the owner, i believe his name was Juan Carlos. He was a very humble and fracious guy with a big smile on his face. The whole dish was flavorful and satisfied like a warm blanket on a freezing night! The young lady waitperson was so friendly and we laughed as we tried to communicate with each other (she with no English and me with no Spanish). After we were stuffed to the gills, she brought us a complimentary plate of 4 pieces of olive oil cake and two glasses of a very tart brightly colored yellow liqueur that my friend said had a definite kick. When I told our waitperson that I don't drink alcohol, she brought me a glass of the same fruity base liquid sans the alcohol, which I found to be very tart and very pleasing on the palate! When I finished it, the young lady offered me more, but there was no way for me to fit anything else into my completely full satisfied belly! This place might look touristy with the menu posted at the door and its plastic covered menu inside, but the food and staff are wonderful. Don't let your prejudices keep you from enoying the amazing place. Might be a bit pricier, too, since it's close to the plaza and hotels, but it's worth it! The green beans, haricot verts, were beautifully prepared with a great grilled flavor and texture. A wonderful meal on many levels. Then dessert, the Dali cheesecake, was a work of art, really. A pair of red Dali lips, creamy rich light velvety smooth and delicious. A great end to an excellent meal. We decided to visit Llamber a tapas restaurant on the outskirt of Park de la Ciutadella. The restaurant has a light and airy ambiance, the tables are decently spaced for a more private conversation. We then started with a bottle of Spanish Rosé together with some tapas to share. We had the patitas, black pearl oyster served with rock salt and mignonette and the chef's take on a Spanish bao bun. We found the pork belly flavorful and crispy and blended well with the bun, in hindsight we should have ordered one for each. For our main entree, I ordered paella with seared tuna while my partner chose Entrocôte served with shishito peppers and fries. We found all the dishes simply epicurean and the waiters took time to describe everything on the menu. It was well plated and the dishes came in a timely fashion and everything went well with the wine choice. We felt that we were looked after throughout the stages of the dinner. With great customer service and quality of food, this place is recommended whenever you are visiting the beautiful city of Barcelona.

Since we had dinner plans for later in the evening, we went with a couple of tapas and gin-based cocktails. Para comer, we had the croquetes, tartar de remolatxa, bunyols de bacallà, and everything was pretty awesome. If I had to order our dishes from the best to good, it would go the bunyols, tartar, and the croquetes. Overall, the service was pretty good. One weird part of our experience: the restaurant had outdoor seating, but we were told that all of the tables were reserved so we had to eat indoors. That was not a problem. My concern was that in the entire time that we were dining (about an hour or so), we did not see a single person use any of the tables.
