Paella was simple but tasty. Service left a bit to be desired. Server was largely expressionless, but communication was friendly when he was there. No one ever stopped by to see how things were going. Paying was a bit of a challenge. After finally getting my check, no one ever returned with the credit card reader. I ended up walking to the bar. Monday evening ....did not disappoint. We had a pitcher of sangria and tapas - sautéed mushrooms and tomato bread. My wife hates seafood and she loved the chicken paella. Our friend and I shared the seafood paella. It was great. The prawns are huge but after you de-shell them, not very much meat. I think they more contribute to the flavor in the rice. Staff was very attentive and worked to understand our English. Several folks eating here at 8pm so had good energy. This might be my only paella meal in my first trip to Spain. So. Very. Disappointed. This is our first meal in Barcelona and we are very disappointed. We had the cava sangria and it tasted disgusting, like medicine. The food here is dramatically overpriced so we ended up ordering pasta and pizza.. both tasted ok but still overpriced. The atmosphere and the decor is weird. Had such a great experience here as I booked this restaurant for my girlfriends birthday celebration for a party of 9 and we were treated wonderfully! I received calls beforehand as I had asked for a birthday cake and they did deliver! The restaurant is in an artsy ( gothic) neighborhood and we could tell we were with the locals which we preferred Everything we ordered was delish from the lobster paella to the chicken wings to the lamb ! Loved this place! We tried some other places and always seemed to end up back here. We were here 3 days and ate here 3 days. They were always nice and the owner(I think) gave us limoncello on the house. Paella with pasta was fantastic and all the tapas we had were excellent. Momo was our pit stop halfway through the Sandeman's free walking tour. It's a neat little tapas bar with cold beer, cold water and reasonably clean bathrooms. Plenty of space to spread out but it looked like it would be quite the hopping joint when it's filled. read more

Momo was a pleasant surprise. a lot of the great restaurants / tapas bars in barcelona are closed in August for summer vacation. there were two in the area that I was hoping to check out, and ended up being closed. so, out comes yelp! found momo, which is a nice tapas bar with a large format, and pleasant, chic decor. going in, I was a bit skeptical, as it seems a bit of a tourist trap (and not your typical authentic tapas joint). and i still think that it is a bit of a tourist trap, but an excellent one at that! the food was great and quite authentic, the ambience was happening, and it was reasonably priced. read more

We happened to walk by this place when the gentleman outside mentioned there would be live guitar music that evening, so of course we couldn't miss! We got a prime seat and ordered gazpacho (best we've ever had!), spaghetti bolognese and supreme de dorada (fish). It seemed all the servers worked collectively, as we had several people collecting dishes, grabbing us this or that and checking up on us. We were amazed at the variety of languages each spoke interchangeably to the tables surrounding us. The food was wonderful as was the entertainment. We couldn't be happier to have stumbled upon this place for one of our "date nights" in Barcelona. If you check it out, be sure to arrive at least 45 minutes before any entertainment or dinner hour. This place had amazing tapas! Even the customer services was great. A couple of things we order were the chicken wings, patron pepper, patatas braves and all were really yummy. The sangria was also delicious one of the best ones we've had in Barcelona. I hope more people write yelp reviews and try this place out. Again, everything was great! read more

Fantastic restaurant! We randomly walked by and the ambience from inside caught our eye. Looking for some authentic food, we decided to make our mid day stop here. We were so glad we did! It was small, (quaint if you will,) and very personable. Our waiter was very attentive. After we ordered paella's for our main course, he notified us that it would be a 20 min or so wait for our food, (lobster &chicken) and suggested garlic bread as an appetizer. Such a easy thing to order but it was so tasty! We had sangria while we waited and those 20 minutes were WELL worth the wait! It was our first paella in Spain, and none thereafter were quite as delicious. Thank you for welcoming us as tourists and being so kind to help us with your menus.
