In our haste to drive to the beach, we left our picnic lunch at home on the kitchen table! Oh well, we had to grab a bite to eat and fortunately found casual family-run La Bodeguita on Highway One in Bodega Bay. I ordered a grilled chicken enchilada (hold the cheese and sour cream) with a side of rice (which was savory and one of the highlights). The sauce tasted homemade with just the right amount of heat (my glasses steamed up half-way, which is my personal scoville scale)! My dining partner had the beef/chicken fajita burrito, which could have served three hungry people! He found it quite tasty and will be having the leftovers for dinner tonight! Every time we order out, they say the food will be ready in 15 minutes. Every time we show up to pick up the food, we seem to wait in line to pay. After we pay and tip, they then begin to prepare the food. The past two times, the food is Luke warm, and fairly flavorless. EXCELLENT burritos; i mean really good. The Carne Asada Super Burrito is everything you would expect and want; i highly recommend getting it wet; the orange sauce is quite good. I'm reliably told the Mar y Tierra is excellent as well, but can't bring myself to pass on a chance to get the Carne Asada. Chicken Flautas are good as well. read more

I am going to go out on a limb and say this Mexican restaurant was the best restaurant we tried in Bodega Bay. I had the Mar y Tierra burrito which was huge and tasty. We were staying at the Bodega RV park and decided to try La Bodeguita. We were so glad we did. My son had the super burrito. My wife had a shrimp taco and I had the crab enchilada. All of our dinners were delicious. Service could not been any better. We have eaten at many Mexican restaurants in the north bay and I would fate this one as one of the best. I'm sure that if this restaurant was located in Petaluma or Santa Rosa you would have to wait for a table. Can't wait to go back. read more

4.5 stars. Cute little place and great for scratching that Mexican food itch. You get one basket of chips with your order. The chips were not my favorite that's the only reason I would knock them half a point. Service was excellent. Attentive but not overly so. I got the vegetarian burrito no cheese. It was HUGE so I took half back to the hotel. The ranchero sauce was mild but full of flavor! Highly recommend. My husband got the streets tacos: pastor, carnitas and shredded chicken. Not just "good enough for the area". This place is straight up GOOD mexican food. We went here because we were staying at the nearby Bodega Bay RV Park. We are from Oakland/Berkeley where we have access to excellent Mexican food and honestly this place is just as good. What makes it unique is the seafood. My goodness: the crab enchiladas, shrimp enchiladas, fish burritos, fish tacos, super nachos, and even their house-made clam chowder is fantastic. Clam chowder from a Mexican restaurant? It is rare that I bother to leave reviews anymore. Most of what I want to say has been said already. But in the case of this restaurant, I want to make sure that everyone knows that the Grilled Fish a La Veracruzana is really worth the cost of the dish. The fish is Tilapia, it is a generous portion, and the sauce is really tasty. Plenty of capers and jalapeño peppers. I didn't see any olives. Now that I think about it. The beans and rice are solid. There's a pile of lettuce and salsa on the side that served its purpose--good counter to the other textures and flavors. My older kid got the enchiladas Suizas and the green sauce was great. And the smaller kid got a kids enchilada and some beans and rice (not on the menu) which worked well. Setting is great--we sat outside. Highly recommend. read more

I've grown up in CA, spend a significant amount of time in MX, and have a Mexican wife, so I've had my share of Mexican food. With that experience I am pleased to say La Bodeguita is delicious. Their mole was delightful, carnitas moist, and combo fajitas plentiful. I was also impressed with their flan. The only improvement I'd Suggest is different chips. This is a family business with a fairly small operation, so plan to relax with a cervesa & enjoy the experience. If you're in a hurry go find a Taco Bell. read more

My husband and I stopped at La Bodeguita on our way home from spending all day at a beach along Bodega Bay. I really wanted to give this place four stars, because the tortilla chips were stale and seeing them fill the chip bin with tortilla chips that were stored in a cardboard box seemed somewhat odd. Other than that, our burritos were fabulous, their salsa was excellent, and service was very friendly and prompt. I feel that knocking a star off for tortilla chips would be unfair and undeserving because we went there for the burritos that we were craving all day (and they were delicious), now if we would have paid for the chips or ordered nachos, this would be a different type of review. ;) We do recommend this place, we've been there twice, and we will be happy to return. read more

This is 100% hands down my go to spot for Mexican and I even a burger sometimes. They are so quick and friendly, helpful and it's super clean! Love this spot! I love their pastor in mine, but I also love it veggie or with chicken. I took some photos of their menu and the clam chowder is actually not bad. This wouldn't be my top choice for clam chowder in bodg a though, but bravo! The interior is wood, wood tables and chairs, a little fancy for Bodega...I was surprised the first time I came in. From the outside, you wouldn't guess how sweet it is inside! Giant windows to look out and beautiful flowers line the side.
