Steak Ranchero. Also came with corn or flour tortillas and also a small bag of chips.
Shelly S.

Have been a few times but first post. Placed an order to go for Steak Ranchero and Super Nachos with carnitas. Decided to try their Pineapple Coconut Margarita (not sure if that is the correct name or not as forgot to take a pic of the drink specials). Sat down and started to take a few sips of my drink, which tasted fabulous btw) and the waitress was already setting out food down in front of us. The restaurant was quaint and clean. They took cash but seemed better equipped to take credit cards. When we got the food back to our airbnb it was still piping hot and looked delicious. The Steak Ranchero was good but a little spicy for my dad. The nachos were really good but could have used a few more chips. They can also be shared as there was plenty for 2 people. Overall, would return and recommend. Would have given 5 stars but like I said above the nachos needed more chips.

Always a consistently grand experience! The service staff is warm and welcoming. It's seems like you've just stopped by to have a meal with cherished family members. Lots of windows allowing you to enjoy nature, wildlife and beautiful sunsets. So many great things on the menu, but enjoy the chips and fresh made verde and roja salsas. A special desert this time was a fresh made cheesecake with raspberry coulee!

Super burrito, enchiladas suizas, taco salad, chips and salsa.

During a girls weekend trip to Bodega Bay, we decided to come here because we were all craving chips and salsa. Its off the highway, not really hidden but if you blink you could miss it. There is plenty of parking. It was a Friday night and it was pretty busy for the dinner crowd, but luckily we were able to get seated right away inside. They had both indoor and outdoor options. My friends got the taco salad and the enchiladas suizas. I got the carne asada super burrito and we all shared the churros. Service was great, our food came out quickly. Our server was friendly and helpful when we asked her questions about the menu. I really loved their salsa roja that they served with the chips! The burrito was good, but nothing particular about it that made it stand out. The portion was big too with lots of fillings. My friends enjoyed their food. At the end of eating our entrees we decided to get dessert and we opted for the churros. I am not a big churro person, because normally you get the frozen and then warmed up variety, but these were authentic. It took a little while for the churros to come out because the server said that they were making them fresh, AND they were. Hot and filled with chocolate and with a serving of vanilla ice cream in the middle of the plate. They were delightful! We weren't rushed and we were able to have dinner in peace.

Service was great, food came out fast, just missing that wow factor ... Had chile Verde and a wet burrito that were both great. We were the only patrons in the restaurant which was nice. Our server was a little overbearing but delivered great service. It was probably just because we were the only people in the restaurant. Good beer selection, wish there were more specialty cocktails. Overall, cool spot on the outskirts of Bodega Bay. Will probably return during my next visit to Bodega Bay!

Fish and chips

I'm obsessed with this restaurant and frequently drive the hour + to get the crab enchiladas! There is some magic in this kitchen and the love & craft pours out of all their dishes. The fish and chips are also excellent - deep fried on a whole other level while the fish inside is so tender and juicy.

We camped at the RV park behind this restaurant and at the spur-of-the-moment laziness attack, we decided not to cook and just walk over to this joint. Now, my friends had been to this place previously, but this was my first. I wasn't all that hungry, but once the food arrived, my buddy had the mole' dish, his wife the wet burrito and I the meat quesadilla, all were good. I consider myself a competent judge of (Anglo) Mexican cuisine living in San Francisco as we have a ton of very competitive south of the border eateries of various levels and this place can hold its own against the city-folks. My only criticism is their price, they charge beyond their pay grade, but then again, they're one of the only game in town which has very few players. So, I give them three-points as this place doesn't quite agree with me in terms of food/price value. The food is very good, but it comes at a steeper price than it should. P.S. My buddy's beef mole' came with a lot of great sauce, but to harken back to the 90's, "where's the beef?"

Daman T.

skip this place. the mole poblanos and huevos rancheros we ordered were disappointing. the chicken in the mole was so dry, and the sauce was just sweet, lacking any real flavor. the huevos rancheros were also underwhelming and bland. we walked over without checking reviews and deeply regretted it -- should have stuck to the cafe next door.

3 Stars because it was both 1-star "not good" and 4-star "great" due to it being the weirdest…read moredining experience I've ever had. So let's start with the "not good" - not only was it not good - the service was so bad I couldn't even bring myself to want to tip out of pity. I try to find reasons to tip in situations such as this but I could not. Literally the last time I left a $0 tip was 20 years ago - I'm no jerk. So to start it took forever to get any attention - felt invisible - after sitting down, I basically had to all but snap my fingers and shout, "garçon!" Then it was left to random chance when and what arrived at our table. Starting with, "here's your beers, not sure which one is which." The food items did not arrive together, but staggered. One item failed to arrive entirely and when I mentioned it there was no apology it was, "well did you say anything?" My befuddled reply, "I'm saying something now?" Then I asked for a napkin along with the check with the missing item removed, and got the check and no napkin. We had to rinse our hands in our water cups then wash them in the bathroom lol. The check arrived with a place to write a gratuity and a total, which is unusual - usually you have to give them your card before you get that option and this abnormality threw me off and I never gave them my card, I just gave a tip of " :( " and put the total and signed my name and left. A few minutes later my wife realized I didn't ever hand them a card. So I called and left a message apologizing and saying I still owe them. They never called back. So the next day I entered the restaurant to pay up, and they were really nice and said they couldn't find an unpaid tab and that it probably got voided out or something. They were magnanimous and cool about it. I'm worried maybe somebody else got charged for my meal? No idea, but I can't bring myself to leave 1 star for a place that in a weird round about way comped me for $75 in food and drinks even though I didn't tip them. What a weird experience.

And even better to know the food and drinks are as great as they always were! While staying with friends in this lovely golf community, we stopped at the Links at Bodega Harbour to check it out and decided to stay for dinner. The menus offered up some tasty sounding dishes! And they did not disappoint. Three of us ordered the crab cakes while two went for the traditional hamburger and fries. Everyone was happy with their choices. Crab cakes were on point! Lots of crab with little filler. Really rich and moist served with a light sauce, which complimented them so well. Hamburgers were big and juicy with lots of crispy fries. In the beverage department, I selected the Quivira Sauvignon Blanc, which was wonderful. You rarely see this winery on restaurant wine lists, so I was quite excited. It is so delightful and perfect with crab cakes. (Menu photos of everything are included.) By the time we were finished, every seat was filled. It is a small area with maybe 7 seats at the bar and a mixture of tables and high tops rounding out the rest of the room. Very cozy. A gorgeous view of the ocean and golf course, too, as the restaurant is on the second level of the building. Casual dining at its best! Alex and his helper were working hard. Five-star customer service for sure. Shout out to them both! I highly recommend Bluewater Lounge for a place to stop where you will have quality food, a full bar, and people who strive to give the highest customer experience to everyone! Open for dining Wednesday, Thursday (live music), Friday (bingo or live trivia), Saturday, and Sunday (brunch). (It's always smart to call for specific open hours.) Parking plentiful. Did I mention they give a nice wine pour too!!! Cheers!

My friend and I wanted a short getaway from our North Bay homes, and wanted to stay by the coast…read more Despite the cost (well, seems that everything costs more now!), we had a nice time. The location is right in the central part of Bodega Bay. Note that their restaurant (The Tides) is across the busy highway. On line reservations were easy, and staff super friendly despite my calls to make changes a few times:). I had reserved a room with a patio, since I wanted to be able to open the door and sit outside to take in the bay. Rooms with patios are only on the ground floor, and we were in building 12. The room was super clean and lovely, spacious as well. No strange smells as has been mentioned, but their was a heating unit under a window, and the carpet was wet underneath it. Mentioned this to the front desk staff and immediately were offered another room. This was not really a big deal, so told them it could be addressed after our checkout. It was furnished beautifully, however the bathroom looked a bit dated but clean nonetheless. Plenty of parking in front of the building and also come covered parking spots. A small fridge was in the room, and a small coffee maker for one cup at a time. I found that running water through it enabled me to make tea. Breakfast is included with the room, and this consists of a continental breakfast (granola, muffin, fruit cup, coffee) across the street at The Tides, from 8a-11am. Not a buffet, the plate is served to you. If you want a breakfast off the menu, the breakfast voucher can be used for 25% off an ordered breakfast. We did this both days, and the food was good, standard fare. The seating area looks over the bay and very serene. In the mornings, coffee, hot water for tea are available in the lobby area. They have local newspapers each day, and the view is amazing. A nice place to wait until it is breakfast time. The coffee is average, and cools off quickly. The landscaping is amazing, and well maintained. Walkable paths between the buildings, but places to walk are sketchy along the highway. Staff were endlessly friendly, helpful and accommodating. Overall, it was a nice getaway. Our room was about $350/night, probably right for the location and amenities (pool, hot tub, fitness center). However, the rooms seemed a bit 'tired', and could use some updating in terms of the bathrooms, coffee provided (how about serving one of our great local coffees? Bella Rosa, Black Oak, etc?) We did however get a complimentary bottle of local wine with check in. Not really as lush or luxurious as other hotels in that price range. Having said all that, would still stay here again.

Opened a few windows (weather was great) and that helped some. Again, view out the now open windows was great. Place was very clean, old but nice inside, no complaints there. Free continental breakfast was pretty good. Not sure why a croissant and a muffin were needed, especially since the muffin was a bit uninspired, but can't complain about free. The granola and juice were quite good. Would I stay again, probably, but not saying I won't shop around first to see if anything else hits me better.

We have been using Bodega Harbor Inn for over 35 years and have always had exceptional customer…read moreservice from George and Steve. Our most recent experience was not great with newer employee (Gina). When we arrived on WED we were happy to get our keys to the Harbor House as it was our first time to stay in this house. We got into the house and we realized it smelled of gas. There was one burner that was taped off with do not use on the tape. It was obvious that the Inn was aware there was a problem, yet this was not taken care of properly prior to our arrival. We returned to the office to inform them with our concerns in the Harbor House. Gina let us know that she has had other guests with the same complaints but she said it had been recently serviced. She said if it made us feel better she could have the handyman come look at it again in the morning. She tried to reach the him, but there was no answer and she had to leave a message. Gina did assure us that the owners daughter had just stayed in the Harbor House with no complaints. We chose to stay the night and have the handyman check the stove in the morning. It was two days before the stove was checked so we were not able to use the heat or stove until Friday evening. The young man who worked on the stove let us know it was leaking gas because it was not fixed correctly. We also had some attitude from Gina when we tried to get 4 wash cloths and more coffee for the coffee maker. We also had to ask for toilet paper twice because we only had 2 spare rolls for 4 adults staying 5 nights (6 days). We should have been offered a discount for the 3 days we were not able to safely use the heater and stove due to the gas leak. We have decided that we will have to move on and find a new place to stay for our yearly vacation to Bodega Bay. I think things would have been handled differently had George or Steve been running the office that week. We are very lucky that the house did not blow up nor did we have poisoning due to the natural gas leak. Keeping all the windows open until it was properly serviced was difficult because it was so cold, but we are still here to share this story. Looking back on this we never should have stayed in the home but I am happy to be alive. We are just disappointed that our trip was not enjoyable and we paid extra to stay in the house when we would have had a better vacation just renting a room without these issues.

We were only staying one night, so we booked the smallest room. If we return for a longer stay, we'd probably opt for a larger room. That said, if you're in Bodega Bay, hopefully you're spending most of your time exploring rather than sitting in your room! The rooms include mini fridges and a coffee station, and the lobby has a larger coffee and tea station as well as a microwave. Parking is located right outside your room, which makes loading and unloading easy. The location is also very convenient.
