After a short uber ride we were pleasantly surprised by the cool decor, ambiance and service. We immediately noticed the BBQ tower - decided we had to give it a try. Not disappointed-- it was delicious - so much variety cooked to perfection! Cool sauces like espresso BBQ and hot sauce were zippy and flavourful. I had the Caesar, one in our group had the turkey burger, another brisket and the tower shared by 2. All were very good. In fact one of our BBQ aficionados said the food was better than famous Dallas based Terry Blacks! Our server was on the ball and friendly. I agree with some of the other reviews, this is a must-eat place in Toronto.

The restaurant itself is beautiful with very high ceilings yet still felt cozy. We were given a table for two situated the very end of a long couch that had a high arm rest. Hubby sat in a chair directly across from me. We ordered the roasted pear salad to start. It was good albeit a bit overdressed & I didn't find much gorgonzola in it. For the main, we had the pitmaster platter which consists of pork ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork, fried chicken and cheddar jalapeño sausage accompanied with French fries and pickles. We also ordered the jalapeño cheddar cornbread and collard greens. Unfortunately, both the brisket and ribs wasn't tender enough to have a melt in your mouth experience. It was a bit dry which was unfortunate since the flavors were delicious. The pulled pork & sausage was good with the fried chicken being our favorite out of the meats. Both sides were fantastic! My dining experience could have been better. The high arm rest was in my way from cutting into my food. I had to sit on an angle to avoid this. The meat platter was half covering our plates... while the table for 4 beside us sat empty for the entire time. With a bit more attention to the temperature of the meat & the comfort of the dining guests, this place could be so much better. We had several people ask us afterwards if we would recommend the restaurant & sadly, we cannot at this time.

4.5/5 Fantastic experience at Ricky + Olivia!!!…read more First of all, there's so much space than you would expect initially walking in. We were seated along the side of the back dining area, with a solid view of the bar and kitchen. Some of my favourites were the carrot + ice cream, steak tartare, and burger. Everything felt quite innovative, whether it was a twist on the typical ingredients, or a fusion of different dishes. There is a distinct path that Ricky & Olivia are carving out for themselves, and I think you'd be pleasantly surprised by any dish. Service was lovely, and the ambience was perfect for date night or a small group dinner. Such an east end gem!

One of my friends is pescatarian and we ordered everything on the menu that she could have, plus the burger. They also have a great wine list and some by the glass options. I got the sparkling brut and it was perfect with the meal. For food we ordered the carrots+ice cream, Caesar salad, burger, fish, and turnip cakes. The carrot+ice cream dish was such a unique and great way to start the meal. The bay leaf ice cream wasn't overly sweet and paired perfectly with the carrot. The Caesar salad was fresh and tasty. The turnip cakes had chili crisp on them and had a nice little kick to them. The burger was a double patty and good, but nothing exceptional. The fish was very flavorful with the leeks and char sui glaze. Service was amazing and it served was so friendly and got roped into some of our conversations lol. The only disappointment was the bread pudding. It had potatoes on it, instead of a fruit. And although they tell you that you won't be able to notice, you can. The potato is still pretty firm and I just didn't love the texture or flavor. The bread pudding itself was good otherwise. Overall, I would definitely come back again.

This is an elevated North American tavern. The building was built in 1910 with a wood-dominated…read morevibe. It has since been renovated by the new owners, making it elegant, but keeping the same vibe. The restaurant serves pork chops, steaks, fish, and elevated comfort food. It can seat 130 diners. There is a wood fire grill in the open kitchen; yes i saw them stoking the fire with wood pieces. There is a large selection of signature cocktails, wines, and beers. The menu changes seasonally. Most of the mains are served solo; ie, not garnished. You would have to order shareable sides. The Pork Chop was recommended by the server as the most garnished, do I ordered that. We came there on 2025-06-19 to celebrate my Birthday Dinner. The food was amazing and worth returning to try more of the menu. They do have a kids menu too. We ordered the following: 1. Lychee Grapefruit Highball ($15). Soju, soho lychee, soda, grapefruit, Thai basil, NICE ice. 2. Macaroni & Cheese ($22). With aged cheddar. From kids menu. 3. French Fries ($10). Garlic mayonnaise. 4. Shrimp Toast ($22). BC side stripe shrimp, sesame, apple sweet & sour sauce. 5. Lasagna ($30). Beef bolognese, risotta bechemel, basil. 6. Pasture Raised Pork Chop ($34). 12 ounces, sherry, capers & mustard. 7. Crispy Brussel Sprouts ($12),. Sweet chili, sesame seeds. 8. Sticky Toffee Pudding with Ice Cream ($14). All the food was excellent, and worth the price. The NICE Ice is shipped in from a company that makes perfectly translucent ice. They boil it to be free of impurities, then put the boiled water into a mold to freeze. The Shrimp Toast was crunchy on the outside and the apple sweet & sour sauce was excellent. The Lasagna was great. Even my son loved it. The Pork Chop was perfectly cooked. There might have been 10% fat pieces and the charred bits were divine. The combination sherry and capers was a great idea. The Brussel Sprouts were not too bitter, and tasted great with the sweet chili sauce; it wasn't spicy. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was so moist. The amount toffee sauce was just right, and the vanilla ice cream was the perfect accompaniment. There is music playing in the background. There is a small private dining room downstairs. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are two male and two female and one gender-neutral family washroom, all downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid and free neighbourhood street parking. There are three high chairs for little children. Review 2025-114

Happened to walk into this interesting food court, The Grange. Among various different food stands…read morein this food court, I was most impressed by the longest line-up of Helena's Magic Kitchen. In spite of its long line-up, the serving speed was fast and efficient. Menu is simple. Food is appetisingly visible. Thus easy to order. I quickly searched their popular items with my phone, and decided that I should try Sheppard's pie. But it sold out just in front of me.... it was still 12:30! Oh NO! Now I had to choose alternate main dish very quickly, and this Stuffed Chicken Breast caught my eye... and ordered. I made it Combo of $10.75 (one main, one warm side, two cold sides). As a side, I initially wanted pierogies (which also has a good reputation) as a warm side dish, but I accidentally chose potato pancake which irresistibly looked so good (with sour cream) today, which made me ineligible for getting pierogies. Next time! For the two cold sides, I chose potato salad and barley salad. The spinach stuffed chicken breast was very impressive and I loved it! The round football shape and the size was 1.5 x my fist. The spinach stuffing inside was plenty, flavourful and super savoury, but not greasy. It was wrapped by thin, yet juicy tender chicken breast. Ask for mushroom gravy for this, as the flavor perfects it. The potato pancake was thick, super crispy outside, and tender & chewy inside. Juicy. Cooked/tasted fresh. Although it is a bit greasy side, I thought I can come back to buy this one alone - as it is filling and addictive. The two cold sides were good, not outstanding but good companion for the heavier main. Next time, I want to come earlier to try Sheppard's pie. Also want to try their pierogies - I could not order it today as I was so attracted by the potato pancake, which disqualified me from adding it in today's lunch combo lol. $10.75 combo with this quality and volume is blessing! Thus star 5.
