Prosciutto and mushroom pizza at L'Insalada

Great place for a quick light lunch next to Vatican City. We were able to get a table outside right away next to the very busy Vatican City. And if there is not a table available, there are a few other places just like this one in the immediate area. My wife and I shared a prosciutto and mushroom pizza. The crust was very thin, the sauce was delicious, the cheese was plentiful and they did NOT skimp on the toppings. I got a beer and my wife drank tap water. Cute traditional Roman dining room inside and clean restrooms. Delicious light lunch! Love this place!

Wasn't my favorite spot in Rome, but was convenient to where we were staying. I decided to get the crab meat salad and it was just very bland. That could be because they only use oil and balsamic vinegar as their dressings. It was a nice switch from the normal pizza and pasta that we were eating every day for the 4 months we lived there. However, If I ever go back I would probably go for the pasta

Pollo Romano / Román chicken very very amazing!

Finally! A place with amazing food, large portions, and doesn't charge you an arm and a leg!!! The price is great! The food is very very good and looks worthy of a picture/post! They re very creative here, artistic, and don't sacrifice flavor or price in doing so! I highly recommend the Roman chicken! Italian salad, and veal pizza! I have been traveling across Italy for the past week and have come across many ok tasting foods that are small, tasteless, and very expensive... coming from L.A. I must say I'm used to big portions with a lot of flavor for a decent price, Italy has not been able to meet this criteria, except this place! This place will hook you up! I'm so thankful for passing by and giving it a shot! It says a lot when you see the place packed with actual Italians eating here! -That's actually what sold me-, anywhere you go, if the locals pack the place, it's cause it's actually good! Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!

After days of pasta I really needed some greens. A friend recommended this place. The salad I ordered was quite large and delicious. I would recommend the Pellegrino (Pioneer) salad for anyone who doesn't mind a little fruit in their salad. Another at my table ordered the risotto/shrimp special. If you are squeamish do not order this. There was only one shrimp and it was boiled whole then laid atop the risotto, head legs and all other body parts. The house wine was 2 euro and I was amazed that it was cheaper than the soda or bottle of sparkling water we ordered. Total meal was relatively inexpensive compared to many other overpriced restaurants in town. A great value and tasty food.

This is the Best Place to eat in Rome! They give you huge servings. Don't waste your time at other places! This place is very inexpensive and they serve delicious food. It's a family business so they are very friendly. Best service in Rome!

One of our group ate here last time she visited several years ago and loved it. We are carrying on the tradition. Everyone wanted a break from pasta and wanted to try some chicken. It was delicious. Three chicken breast were served with a small side salad and fries. The chicken had a nice crisp outer layer but it was moist and juicy inside. I got the mixed greens salad. Our server indicated that it was as small but I said I still wanted it for my lunch meal. It was perfect. Lots of fresh veggies. Olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette for dressing. Nice and light for lunch. The inside was so cute as well. Sidewalk cafe tables. Indoor seating with the nice people watching window view. Bright and cheery. Great stop.

Always a great sign for the traveler weary of touristy spots. Location is amazing; 5 minute walk to St. Peter's. We had the marinara and diavola. Both were fantastic. The salami was super thin and well seasoned. The garlic and oregano on the Marinara were perfect. The house white wine was delicious and reasonably priced. For dessert we shared the chocolate profiterole (amazing) and I had the iced tea (sweet but not too sweet). We sat inside due to the noise and heat outside. Even without AC it was very comfortable in early September. 100% recommend you eat here if in the area.
