I dined here twice while I was in Paris, the first time was better than the second time- the first visit was 5 stars, the second, 3, so I am giving it 4. The first time was with a friend, we approached the hostess stand. It was still early, but we wanted a cold beer on a hot day. Usually, they want you to eat, but she was okay with us having drinks as it was still early. We were brought to a nice table outside, and we were given menus and ordered beers. I got up to look at the seafood, and it looked incredible. When they returned with our beers, we decided to order food, our server took our orders, and we drank our very cold and refreshing beers, sitting in a beautiful garden area watching the people go by. Then the food arrived- fresh oysters, razor clams, Foie Gras, prawns and bread & butter. I don't usually eat oysters in the summer, but we were nearing September and the oysters were from the Normandy coast, cooler water, so I decided to have them- and boy, and I'm glad I did- they were excellent! As were the prawns, and the razor clams were to die for- perfectly cooked and tasty. The table next to us ordered Langoustine, and they looked incredible, but we were already full! For dessert, we ordered the Rum Baba- OMG, do good and they just give you a bottle of rum to pour away! It was delicious as well. My second visit was by myself, as I wanted ot have the Langoutine. I walked in, and nothing was available outside, so I sat inside- and I am glad I did- it was beautiful and well-appointed! Long story short, I ordered almost the same thing, but I had the Langoustine instead of the prawns, and I was sadly disappointed. They were small and one was old, the meat like paste. Everything else was good, though, but the main reason I went there the second time was a bust. I would definitely go back again, but I would make sure to check out the fresh seafood by sight before ordering. read more

A beautiful awesome day amazing people of the world, today we are in the beautiful city of lights, Paris, France. After walking around, drinking cured meats and bread while eating booze by the river. Doing some lookie-loo stuff, being mindful to people around us, we make it to the dindin portion of our trip. Just like every trip, my buddy felt strongly about us smashing down at this restaurant. Welcome to L'Auberge DAB. We opted for the set menu, 3 course meal with a half a bottle of wine and an amouse bouche drink per person. So let's get into it shall we. First thing to get out of the way are the snails. I mean, what's a trip to Paris without having their famous escargot. This plate isn't on the menu, so it's a must to ask if it is available. Wonderful garlicky buttery goodness that can get a 8.9/10 2nd on the table is the herring with the pickled veg. Great assortment of fermented items on a plate. The fish was superb, this can get an automatic 8.5/10 The Oysters are fresh AF. Great brine flavor, locally sourced and an awesome treat in my mouth. 8.5 out of 10 The eggplant caviar is also a beautiful addition to the first course. Topped with cheese, coriander and finished with lime. Easy 8.7 out of 10 For the main Event, I went with the Veal Kidney Fricasseé. That mustard sauce pairs perfectly with the delicious gamey flavour of the kidneys. Also rendered perfect medium rare id like to add. I'd give it a 9/10 The Seabass was also done perfectly. The sauce and the spinach was a stellar combination. A perfect fish that's not trying to do too much scores high in my books. 9.5/10 Then we finish off with the Vanilla Custard, The Creme Brulee and the Berry Coulis. One of my friends had a hip replacement and it was difficult to walk in this city from the parking area. There is no handicap parking. This restaurant is located right next to the hotel we stayed at (Hotel Toujours). The food is amazingly good! We ordered les huites (oysters) which was very fresh! Then the scallop risotto and sole mueniere. That Sole fish is soooo buttery that it litterally melts in your mouth. The classic French restaurant. Entrance, ambiance, staff all ooze the proverbial Parisian vibes. Menu has all the seasonal and classic winners you expect from this establishment. We were on a business dinner, but you can see it is the favorite of many locals as well. The tables were full of families of all ages and compositions of young and old. The snails and herring were just right. The seafood tray presentation as you expect in this kind of establishment. My scallops and my colleague's veal chop were cooked to perfection. The staff is courteous and silently working their way through their guests. A great ambiance. Dessert was creme brulee and also pears. So yummy. After viewing the Arc de Triumph I stopped by this place for lunch because I heard they had great seafood. It was old school, big overstuffed booths, waiters with bow ties and aprons. I had the "Crustacean plate" which was a half lobster, three large shrimp, Prawns, half a Dungeness crab (a female with row), and great bread. For dessert my waiter suggested showing me the cheese plate and I selected two soft cheeses which came with a great glass of port wine. The meal was fantastic, as was the service and ambiance. Started with the oysters which had a nice taste to them they were a combination and the mix was nice. Went on to the specially beef for two. Now this was disappointing. Had dinner here during a business trip to Paris. The food was comme ci comme ça. The steak was cooked as ordered, however, they don't really use any seasoning so it is bland in taste. The French fries on the side didn't taste very fresh either. Also, the service wasn't as quick as it should have been. This is a very expensive restaurant. My husband at at this restaurant a number of times on previous work trips. We were recently in Paris for pleasure and stopped in for lunch. First, they seat Americans upstairs. It took over an hour to get our entrees. The restaurant was relatively empty when we arrived and ordered. At the end of the meal that waiter asked if we wanted to tip. My husband asked if the bill included tip which is customary in Europe. The waiter said NO. My husband asked again and the waiter said No. My husband tipped. Upon looking at the bill later, sure enough, tip was included and my husband tipped a 2nd time. Beware of the upstairs waiters who lie about the tip being added to the bill. read more

This restaurant is f-ed up. Why? We book through phone and at the front desk they said they couldn't find us. So the waiter placed right next to the front door. WE BOOKED THE EFFING TABLE. After we sit in, it took waiter 10 minutes to give us the menu and another waiting, around 15 minutes, to order the food. Yes, the food are bad, no awful. The oyster are probably directly out from a can and the mussels tastes like death. Shrimp's head are full of goo. Right now I am waiting for the 21st century , perhaps, worst main courses to come. I have read a lot of review here and first don't be so in a hurry! you all complained about speed... it is a traditional seafood restaurant you are here for at least 4 hours if you take the seafood prestige plate! if you only take cooked plate it will be still 2 hours! yes the service is slow, yes most servers don't care you want to eat and go! you are in France in a most iconic restaurant of the area! not at a fast-food chain! this is a restaurant I have visited multiple time for the last 10 years with every trip I do to Paris...you only go there if you want seafood...its there specialty! its expensive but seafood in France is really, and I mean really expensive if good quality. That being said the service is slow, your waiter will not care for your life story and it will take 45 min in between dishes...beyond that the restaurant is superb inside (multiple level and some private room) the tables are close together but very well dress. the decor is rich and opulent. the terrace (outside) is really nice in summer or winter. (did all, from business meeting with 12 person to 2 peoples just taking a break on a Sunday) the food: I personally only eat seafood there...it is always extra fresh and yes I found some bad oysters or mussels. but they replace them... also the cook can't really taste your oysters for you! my guest either family or colleague have always had a good plate. most foreigners tend to think its under salted but they fix that easily. so in summary, manage your expectations. this will be a long dinner/lunch. it will be EXPENSIVE. first class is expensive! but you will have a great experience, great food and great memories. read more

So on a day trip to Paris my friends and I decided to go to L'Auberge Dab because one of them had previously come...let's just say it was an interesting experience... We first showed up to and the place was packed and our table of 6 girls were quickly seated outside. Looking over their menu...one of my friends and I decided we should share the big big steak. Another pair of us also ordered the same dish, the other 2 girls ordered the duck and the "big shrimp" dish. The food seemed like it took forever to be prepared...so we were given numerous bread baskets...YUM. Wasn't TOO bad and then finally our dishes came (I think it took maybe an hour or so for our food to be prepared...a bit long...but it might be normal for French standards?) Our dish was pretty good...I wish it were a little less "cooked" i asked for medium rare and it seemed more medium to me. Other than that it was good. All in all the price for the food...i'm not sure if it's my cup of tea...it was pretty expensive for what we were given. But for a nice meal with great friends it was worth it. Would I go again? Maybe...probably not...I guarantee there are way more delicious places to discover around PARIS! read more

Apps of duck foie gras (excellent) and calamari (good) came slowly but at least they came. That was the last time we saw our waiter. The structure seems different. Out waiter / captain had at least 9 tables. Tough to give good service with that. The guy in white dinner jacket (bus man?) was sorting clean silverware by the business end. One of my favorite meals in Paris. It was a bit pricey but the food was delicious. It is more of a dressy place and I felt underdressed in my day outfit. The restaurant had every table full on a Saturday night. I had the cod which was served over slaw and a great sauce. Others had the hanger steak and the duck. They were both pleased. In the beginning, there was a delicious bread basket that came with this great olive tapenade. The restaurant is so charming inside and loved the yellow/gold decor. I went to that place recently while I was in Paris and there was a MICE RUNNING CLOSE TO US!!! We told the managers about it but their excuse was because of a construction site close by and the rats were there because of that. Well, we ended up paying the bill which was about 176 euros for four people and at the end they offered us a glass of champagne as that would help something. Great meal in Paris for our family. We stayed near this restaurant and found it on our next to last day. We had a party of 6 and the four adults all went for the 39 Euro meal which included 4 courses an aperitif and wine. The two children ordered the cod and mashed potatoes, crem brullee, and a drink for only 8.50 Euros. My meal consisted of a six oysters, beef and potatoes, salad with cheese, crem brullee, and wine. Others had the duck and foi Gras. Everyone agreed it was an excellent meal. My son speaks a little French but they also were very friendly and polite speaking English. I saw other reviews complained about the time it took for dinner. We had no complaints. It took us about an hour and 45 minutes from the time we entered until we left. Granted it is probably the slow season but they were still fairly busy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant especially for a larger group as it is a good size restaurant and not tiny like many of the other cafes around. read more
