Even though I am allergic to Shel
L'Atlas is without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Paris!
Why, you ask?
The ambiance, the food, the location, the entertainment, the service, the hours it is open and the FOOD! (I know I listed food twice :-)
A special thanks to the manager Julien for creating a special dining experience and a special staff including Fabien, and Timothee!
Rue de Buci is simply the best street in the Saint-Germain district... and Saint-Germain is simply the most authentically "French" district left in central Paris... The Champs de Elysees, Painters Square and even the venerable Les Deux Magots have been so overrun by tourists that you barely hear any French being spoken... If you want to go to Paris to meet the French people, hear the beauty of French being spoken and experience the Joie de Vivre of the French people, you need to have breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert on Rue de Buci!!! And, L'Atlas is my choice for that dinner!
What to order?
French Onion Soup... rich, dark and smothered with cheese!
Fried Calamari-Maybe the best I have ever had anywhere in the world!
French Fries... yum!
Grilled Octopus-Perfect!
Grilled Salmon-crispy on the outside and moist on the inside
Beef Bourguignon teaming with mushrooms & onions topped with Foie Gras served with amazing mashed potatoes... this is undoubtedly the best single main course I have had in my over than 30 trips to Paris!!!
For dessert, the Tart Tartin is the perfect choice!
Did I mention the street entertainers that add a never ending flow of music and dance to the dinning experience? read more
