    The charging of the card was IMMEDIATE; my rental was about 25 days away

    I needed a car and was looking around since the prices for Enterprise, Avis and Hertz were outrageous. I came across an article which mentioned Kyte AND had a promo code for $50 off, so I figured I should check it out. I was about 3.5 weeks out from the date I would meet them for pick-up, provided all the information that was needed and figured I was all set. Wrong. This is what their website says regarding a deposit (and see photo): "a deposit of $300 (and $500 for debit cards) is held starting 24 hours before your booking". Unfortunately, that was not true. Deposit was taken 3 1/2 weeks before the rental, and I was purposely trying to not use that card for any charges at that time. Note to Kyte: either fix the glitch which automatically charges right away, or fix the terms on your site!

    Just get unlimited miles if u plan to take a trip it will save u money definitely

    awesome service reliable especially love surfer drop off and return very convenient for people that work non business hours Just make sure u get unlimited miles if u plan to take a trip they provide 900 miles only if u don't But awesome service definitely would use them again

That had never happened before; nevertheless, my partner was forced to wait in the sitting area for 20 minutes while I made my way down to the location (we had planned on saving time with her picking up the car while I ran errands). When I arrived at the rental car agency, another customer service individual told us the same thing. I asked if this was a new policy -- that the corporate card necessitates the employee paying for and driving the car -- and the customer service rep was very squirrely, refusing to answer the question and say either yes (it was a new policy) or no (the policy had just previously gone un-enforced). Finally, when they proceeded through the reservation, it became apparent that the particular corporate code that my partner had applied DID NOT require me to pay for and drive the car. So she had waited 20 minutes for no reason whatsoever, with little in the way of apology from any of the people working there. We were finally led to a car, which was freshly cleaned although with only 1 bar of gas. One of the three reps we dealt with was really kind and quick, tried to get us into a car and on the road, but I was unimpressed with the service we received from the other two people there. The car itself was nice, pretty clean, handled well, and the location of the rental car agency is convenient but...just a word of caution, in case you're renting with a corporate code!

On top of the overbilling, the final price came in $220 over the online quote due to fees that weren't disclosed at booking. I also requested toll coverage, but it was never added to my plan -- meaning I'm now looking at a $10/day surcharge on top of whatever actual toll charges accumulate, with no one available at return to address it. Operationally, this location is severely understaffed. At 6am there was only one person working the counter, making check-in painfully slow. That agent also told a customer flat-out that they were lying when the customer said the upstairs counter was unstaffed and a sign directed people to the lot -- I personally saw that same sign and the same empty counter, so the customer was telling the truth. At return, there was no one available to check in the car, and it took 12 hours to receive a receipt. The self check-in process also gave no clear directions on where to pick up the vehicle afterward. Every touchpoint of this experience -- pricing transparency, staffing, customer service, billing accuracy, and return process -- fell short. I'd strongly recommend looking at other options at BOS.

My disappointing story is not an isolated incident, as there are several other negative reviews with similar stories of customers being scammed with bills for pre-existing damages. I rented a car from Sixt at the Boston Airport last October that was already beat up, poorly maintained, and clearly overdue for service with maintenance lights on when it was handed to me. I reported the existing damage during my rental and was issued a claim number. There is a documented paper trail proving this. Months later, Sixt is now trying to charge me $1500 in repair fees and claiming I never reported the damage. That is completely false and feels like a blatant attempt to shift responsibility for pre-existing damage onto a new customer. Renting out damaged vehicles and then attempting to bill customers afterward is shady business practice. Shame on you, Sixt. If you rent from Sixt, document everything with photographs and be prepared to fight charges that should never be yours. I strongly recommend choosing a different rental company.

There was $284 in hidden fees, fine, they sent us to a parking spot for our car, f4, there was another couple in that car and they had been switched around 4 times already so I went back in to the desk. They then shuffled me around to 2 more vehicles with someone else promised or in them before finally I got in a little Chrysler mini van. Pacifica 2024. The car was dirty, windshield all smudged, and only a little over a half of tank of gas, even though the paperwork said full tank. Thank God I took pictures as I started to drive of the gas gage. One hour after driving to my destination for the night, the car had a message saying to pull over safely the car would be shutting down soon, the alternator light came on, and there was a symbol saying less then 1% battery life. I had to call the state police and the rescue line for the avis line and the state police had to flood and get us to safety. The police officer was amazing and got us safely home. The tow company came to pick up the car rental and I was promised a full refund. I did not get any refund yet but even a full refund was $514 out of $591 I paid and I was sent an Uber voucher to use for Sunday on the way to airport since thats what the car was for. The Uber voucher did not work to schedule a rode or at the time I needed the ride, or an hour or 2 or 3 before. I tried for 7 hours and nothing. So not only did I get nothing from this rental it was a horrible experience. The customer service over the phone was ok but they could do nothing to change or help my situation or get me a working car. The inside desk at CT airport was a joke. Im positive I won't be the only one leaving a similar review from the same date. April 9th was a bad day for avis and to be a customer for them. I would really appreciate ALL of my money back even 6axes etc, and then at least an additional $148.00 for the ride i had to pay for to the airport that was supposed to be a Uber voucher. Such a joke. I will be reviewing until I get my refund I didn't take 7 to 10 days to pay you so please process my refund as quickly as I processed my payment.
