But at National, even though I made a short notice reservation, provided me exactly what I needed. My family was in town for vacation and shopping around for the best car price. The staff were super helpful on the phone, giving us various scenarios about what would be cheapest. When we picked up the car, we were out in 10 minutes. The staff was nice and super helpful. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because the voltage thing that the GPS Usually needs to run did not work, therefore we could not use a GPS and had to rely on data use from our phones. The staff are great and i would rent here again. It's located in the prudential shopping mall in the corridor on the way to the Sheraton hotel

Was told I'd have to wait until whenever the next car was returned (up to an hour). It was NOT fully charged when I received it, and added almost 2 hours to a 3 hour drive to have to charge it (each way, so added about 4 hours). I was told I could drop off within 10% of battery that I received it at, I did, the receipt states it. and was still charged $8. It's almost impossible to return at the exact battery %. The steering wheel was ripped and car not fully clean on the inside. Nobody offered to show me how to drive a Tesla. I have done after-hours drop off at this location in the past two months, was told I could do it again, and pulled up at night and the gate was closed and I could not get in. I had to pay $50 to park the car overnight and add returning it to my schedule the next morning. The woman the next day was the meanest customer service representative and had no sympathy and would not do anything about it. Never renting from this location again.

Our first SIXT rental started reasonably well but ended with a serious after-hours return failure…read moreat Boston Logan. At pickup, the app only showed a small Subaru hatchback despite our SUV reservation, but the counter representative was helpful and got our family into a Volvo XC40. The real problem came at about 4:30 a.m. when we returned the vehicle. The SIXT return entrance was blocked, an alarm was sounding, and there was no SIXT staff available. I called customer service, and after they were unable to reach the branch, I was told to leave the vehicle on a public street with the keys inside, take a photo, and walk away. We refused to do that. My wife ultimately found Hertz employees inside the garage who helped us figure out a safer place to leave the car. The entire situation took more than 45 minutes and we barely made our flight despite building in extra time. Other SIXT customers were arriving and dealing with the same issue. To SIXT's credit, Senior Branch Manager Jazz Hernandez later gave us an excellent response, acknowledged the failure, and escalated it internally. Unfortunately, SIXT then followed that with a $10 "goodwill" voucher, which felt almost comically out of proportion to what happened. After I pushed back, they increased it to $100. We were also billed $31.98 in administrative fees on just $5.95 in tolls. After another round of emails, SIXT eventually refunded those fees. So the final outcome was better than the initial experience, and some employees handled things well. But the lack of after-hours support, the instruction to abandon a vehicle with the keys inside, and the amount of effort required to get basic issues corrected made the overall experience far more stressful than it should have been.

Just repeated generic emails asking for my insurance information (which I provided when I rented the car) without responding to my inquiry. Now that I have researched how aggressive/lopsided their damage claim process is and the apparent lawsuits related to it, I will never use this company again and do not recommend it.

So glad I did--it was a smooth experience from start to finish! I arrived right when they opened at 8am on a time crunch to make it to a 9:30am job interview- I was a little nervous about timing since I'd heard stories of other customers needing to head to the airport, but nope the location was right at Government Center! Dianne was a breeze to work with--she explained everything clearly, from paying for a toll pass (I brought my own E-Zpass, phew!) to making sure I filled up the gas tank and brought back the receipt, or else I'd face an extra charge. Bill in the garage was friendly and efficient when I picked up and dropped off the car/keys. When I returned the car, Dianne asked how my job interview went and was genuinely sweet and supportive. It's those little things that make a difference! All in all, my Budget/Avis rental for 4-5 hours was seamless, hassle-free, and dare I say pleasant hahaha! Would absolutely rent from them again.

And than I approach and her colleague, who says that he is "not going to contact anyone, you just can't do that with a debit card". Do not trust this company and their employees. I got to the area where the rental cars are. The employee working the area, a lady, handed me the keys and left. I had two dents and questions. I had to flag her down. She didn't seem to want to be helpful. It was a slow day. She was on the phone on a personal call and eating inside an SUV. I drove out of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride airport road as happy as can be. That airport had me going in circles. I was driving for maybe 7 minutes when I heard a sound. I looked down, and the low oil canister sign appeared. Two minutes later, the check engine light came on. Right after that, the low gas alert came on, omg. A scary experience for a woman driving alone in a state she has never been to. I called Avis and told them about the issue. They were apologetic and had good customer service. I told them I didn't want to go back to the airport, but I would exchange it at the nearest location. I did a prayer and drove to it with the little alarms going off. They gave me another vehicle. The process was smooth. It was just time-consuming, and I am here for cork and not fun. I didn't have the time to waste.
