I rented a BMW X7 today at about 5:30 pm and drove it from East Boston to Roslindale. Once parked, I attempted to back out of my driveway but the steering was inoperable. The dashboard displayed multiple warning signs. I rented this vehicle using my business account to transport a few colleagues to a training on the North Shore tomorrow. It is now 8:40 pm and I'm still waiting for tow truck details. On the bright side - I was told to Uber back to the airport locating for a replacement which would be reimbursed. The only issue, is that I have to wait for the original vehicle to arrive back and they close at 12. Unacceptable for SIXT to rent a vehicle that clearly already had significant issues. Very disappointed.

I am extremely angry with Sixt and will never rent from them again. I advise anyone reading this to save yourself the energy and do the same. My disappointing story is not an isolated incident, as there are several other negative reviews with similar stories of customers being scammed with bills for pre-existing damages. I rented a car from Sixt at the Boston Airport last October that was already beat up, poorly maintained, and clearly overdue for service with maintenance lights on when it was handed to me. I reported the existing damage during my rental and was issued a claim number. There is a documented paper trail proving this. Months later, Sixt is now trying to charge me $1500 in repair fees and claiming I never reported the damage. That is completely false and feels like a blatant attempt to shift responsibility for pre-existing damage onto a new customer. Renting out damaged vehicles and then attempting to bill customers afterward is shady business practice. Shame on you, Sixt. If you rent from Sixt, document everything with photographs and be prepared to fight charges that should never be yours. I strongly recommend choosing a different rental company.

Small scratch on the car that we have not done.. they are asking $1300 for that

Unfair and scammers! I hate doing this-making bad reviews, but we are extremely frustrated! We rented the car for 5 days in Boston. We brought the car back in the same condition as we got. After 10 days we received an email stating that we damaged the car (front) and we own them $1300. When we picked up the car it was already little bit damaged in a different way (back) They found little scratch on the front and saying that we did it.. Which is totally wrong! You can see the photo for what they are asking money. And as I mentioned above after 10 days when we left the car. We looked up at Damage Appraisers and they were red flagged for being scammers!! PS location is in Boston at Logan International Airport

My bag locked in the car after we turned in the keys only to realize we forgot it.

Cost $490.23 for the car and $140 for insuring said car...after the fact....meaning I used the same card for the insurance, but not the same day. We got to the front desk, told them I'd paid already, and they told me they needed to hold $200 plus I added $71 fuel cost which is $271. I proceeded to give my wife's credit card for the hold and the fuel. When the receipt was presented to me, there was a charge of $985, needless to say after seeing the receipt, I had to change my drawers. Now, long story, short, we worried through our whole trip about that charge, because it was a new credit card and we had no idea that that was going to be the charge on the card. And I was imagining all sorts of difficulty in trying to get that money reversed. Returning the car was a piece of cake. All that was needed was to leave the keys on the dash and walk away, which is pretty cool in my book. But still, I wondered or I should say, my wife and I wondered what the disposition would be of the final bill, and we had to wait a bit to see what would happen. (Suggestion: this is a pay at the Desk rental car company, that is why there was the large charge on the second credit card, however, I'm glad I reserved it early, they seem to have had a plethora of cars there.) Will we didn't receive a final bill but a few days later my wife and I were elated when that $985 had been returned on her new credit card, so we did indeed only pay the $630 or $40 needed which I'd already paid. So, other than worrying about that major expense on one card we were relieved to see the money returned, back on the Second credit card!!! So I'd like to say kudos to Expedia and to Dollar Rent-A-Car for a somewhat nervous but happy Experience, even though it was slightly stressful. If we had had foreknowledge of that big expense being returned, we likely would've not stressed so much, that said I would recommend dollar, they treated us fairly, and pretty good!!!

We explicitly told them we didn't want to use their plate pass toll system. We disabled it according to their instructions and used our own toll pass. Two weeks later we were hit with a bill for $2.50 in tolls and $12 in convenience fee. I called to dispute it, and they want me to track down dates and times for my own pass. No thanks guys.

I walked around in circles because there were no clear directions that rerouted me to the next open Avis station. For someone from out of town not familiar with the layout and with no map of the parking lot, this was irritating. I finally checked in. The employees working the desk were great and friendly. I had to give my info all over again. I thought that was done, but it wasn't. My email and confirmation number got me nowhere. Now thinking about it, maybe I was charged twice lol. I will check when I get home. When I rented the car. I purchased insurance, and I got a quote. When I got to the desk, it was a different price, higher. They had no insurance listed for me. I got to the area where the rental cars are. The employee working the area, a lady, handed me the keys and left. I had two dents and questions. I had to flag her down. She didn't seem to want to be helpful. It was a slow day. She was on the phone on a personal call and eating inside an SUV. I drove out of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride airport road as happy as can be. That airport had me going in circles. I was driving for maybe 7 minutes when I heard a sound. I looked down, and the low oil canister sign appeared. Two minutes later, the check engine light came on. Right after that, the low gas alert came on, omg. A scary experience for a woman driving alone in a state she has never been to. I called Avis and told them about the issue. They were apologetic and had good customer service. I told them I didn't want to go back to the airport, but I would exchange it at the nearest location. I did a prayer and drove to it with the little alarms going off. They gave me another vehicle. The process was smooth. It was just time-consuming, and I am here for cork and not fun. I didn't have the time to waste.

Check-in took a long time. There was only one employee at the front desk working through a building line of incoming guests. Once past that, the valet was quick to grab our bags, get them to the room, and take care of the vehicle. If you don't have much luggage you can probably walk straight to the airport; it's not far. There's a good restaurant and bar inside and a decent spot for coffee & pastries or lite bites. When I returned the rental car, a gas station was only a couple of minutes away and the Boston rental car return center sat just past it. As soon as the car was turned in I called the Hilton front desk; they immediately sent a driver to pick me up and bring me back to the hotel.
