Quick, healthy, clean, nice! I'm in town for an early morning meeting, Kyle's Kitchen lived up to its excellent reviews.

Looking to try something new for dinner, the girlfriend and I decided to give Kyle's Kitchen a shot. We generally aim to like and distinguish a positive review for new places on the map, as restaurant success is a challenging operation to pull off for any new business. The Good: Kyle's kitchen is a restaurant founded with a goal of raising awareness and making a positive contributions to special needs organizations in our area. Their menu is well thought out, offers good variety and is easy to read. They're tapped into a live stream of social media that is displayed on a screen above the cashiers. The Bad: Usually when you see a line out the door, it's a good thing. This line happened to be due to slower than expected order processing time. After everyone had ordered in front of us and the crowd had dissipated from the restaurant completely, the wait continued.. From standing in line to walking out with our to-go order, we were pushing 30 minutes. It was a painful wait and my girlfriend pointed out that it seemed like we were there a lifetime. To make matters worse, the cook had prepared our order for dine-in. An honest mistake, but between them rewrapping and the 5 minute drive to our home, food was damn near cold by the time we got home to eat. I had ordered a cheesy pig burger with am extra beef patty. I think they forgot the bacon. The beef was nicely seasoned, but way over cooked. I think the cook would benefit for a class or two in residual heat because the girlfriend and I both ended up with beef patties that had resemblance of chewing on cardboard. Their social media feed seems to only display highly rated reviews, so perhaps they're not open to the productive criticism that comes from more cynical reviewers. Bottom Line: A spin off and sister company of the ever disappointing Silver Greens restaurant. More than willing to visit again to see if they've worked out the bugs of a new business, but $22 and change for two mediocre hamburgers, two fries and one fountain soda.. Followed by a painfully long wait, mistaken order and a side of disappointment. It's no Habit burger, but they sure are trying.. read more

My family and I went here for dinner. I order the ahi tuna salad and the kids has the grilled cheese and fries. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and the food came out fast. We sat outside and they had dog bowls for the doggies. Love this place, and am happy to support it knowing proceeds go to special need organizations! read more

For the price, this place is fantastic. You get simple, great food for a very reasonable price, and your money goes, in part, to help the disabled. I love the salad/burger combinations. One of my teens loves this place; the pickier one says no. But we come often, especially when we notice that they are supporting another service for the disabled. read more

I went to Kyle's Kitchen for the first time yesterday and had a wonderful time. Kyle was very welcoming and I even got my Hug!!! I had the Quinoa salad; it was excellent. I loved the atmosphere and the attentive staff. I will certainly go back and encourage everyone to give Kyle's kitchen a try. The fact that a portion of proceeds go to support a worthy cause is a bonus. read more

I am sorry to say on our third visit that we were very unhappy with our food. My Thai peanut salad had too much dressing and no peanuts. My husband's kale salad was also over dressed. My chicken breast tasted charred but burned. My grandson's kids burger was also burned and dry. As much as we want to like this place, college age students seemed to be operating the whole place including the kitchen...we won't be returning soon. read more

We started with the delicious Thai peanut salad. Garlic fries were okay. Kind of spongy like in n out burger fries. Tried 4 different burgers. Mountain climber is what I believe it was called. It was the spicy one. Just the right amount of spice for this poor lil gringo! Veggie burger was a treat. The chicken burger was cooked perfectly. Definitely a good competitor for hook and way way better than habit. If I'm in the area again I will def stop in for a burger and fries. For a great cause also. They give away to many needy families and charities and have a great business model. read more

Kyle's Burger's Bacon and Egg burger is my first of 2015 and it is so good! My father used to put fried eggs on all kinds of sandwiches when I was growing up so I knew it had to be a hit! With Silvergreens reputation I knew the taste of fresh ingredients would be all through the burger and they didn't disappoint. Next I'll try the shakes and the different lemonade drinks! Good burgers, salad, and fries. Prices are decent too. Nothing exceptional, but certainly one of the better burger places in the area.

Super disappointed in the Veggie burger, I think they microwaved a frozen one. I am vegetarian and eat allot of veggie burgers, they need a bit of char to them to bring out the flavor. It was like uncooked bean. Yuck. Veggies/Bun/Fries were great, I took out the burger and ate it meatless. bumbed because Im always looking for good vegetarian option. I wish the online takeout ordering process for this place worked better. The website says to allow 20 minutes for online orders under $50. We've ordered twice, and both times when we arrived 20 minutes later to pick up our order, it wasn't ready yet, and we had to wait another 5-10 minutes for our order to be made... To me, the point of online ordering is that it's quick, painless, and if you arrive at the time they specify, it's ready to go right away. If the order hasn't even been made, and I have to wait around, it's not any easier. I think they need to prioritize their orders better to achieve this. Maybe have a separate queue for online orders with a note specifying the exact time each order was placed so that the kitchen knows exactly when each order needs to be ready by. read more

I've gone to Kyle's Kitchen 3 times and I have to say that I am not all that impressed. This last time, I got the Klassic. The meat was thin and somehow unevenly cooked. My wife got a salad and added chicken to it. Adding chicken bumped the price by almost 50%! The prices are extremely high considering the quantity and quality. Now they say they donate a portion of each sale, it would be nice if they showed on the receipt how much was donated. What would be even better if the had on the menu how much is donated for each item. Or add something to the checkout that allows you to put in how much to donate. The staff is pleasant and friendly and the place clean and inviting. That said... I probably won't be back. read more

I just ordered 1/2 farmhouse salad with chicken bacon and avocado... There was a couple pieces of chicken... very little of everything on the salad and it costs me 11.75.... Ridiculous! Very disappointed! Very over priced! I understand they donate some of the money for a good cause but, really??? I wont be eating there again.. read more

Being a local, I had heard so much about this place for their delicious burgers and fries. Needless to say, I was excited to get there and try it out! We ordered the classic burger. Not only was it cold but the fries were cold and hard. Clearly, not fresh. I went up to tell the girl that the fries were cold so she said she'd replace them for us. No apology or anything like that- In a few minutes she came out to our table, and basically threw them on the table saying "here's your fries". Again...no apology. The "fresh fries" were also cold....and hard. Gave up and left. Very disappointed in the service and the food. I get that they donate a portion of their sales to a good cause but they're going to have to step it up a bit to get us back in there. read more

If you don't give this place 5 stars, you're either lacking a working tongue or just don't know what great food is. My girlfriend and I ate dinner here on New Year's Day. I had the ahi poke tuna on a brioche bun and she has the poke tuna salad. Both were spectacular to say the least. The food was fresh, delicious, perfectly matched (such as sprouts to add a nice crunch to the seared tuna). We also got a strawberry malt after dinner and after having worked 3 years at a Dairy Queen and living next to the best dairy in Illinois, can positively say that this was the best strawberry malt I've had in my life. Based on some unique menu items and flavor combinations I thought Kyle's Kitchen would be a great alternative to In-n-out and the Habit, but I left feeling unsatisfied with the experience. PROS - Great menu options, cool atmosphere, good service, interesting variety packed into limited menu items. Fries are the best I have had in Santa Barbara, which is why I increased the stars to 3. CONS - Portions are small for the money. I think they are trying to appeal to the socially-conscious gourmet burger-eating local, but for me, if the food doesn't live up to the hype then it falls flat. I agree with the other 2 and 3 star ratings talking about the patty sizes. The patties are about the size of In-n-out or McDonalds small burger. Given the unique burger (I got the Mountain Climber), they could have hit it out of the park if the patty were the size of Red Robin or the Habit, but instead you get a mouthful of bun and toppings and I couldn't distinguish whether I was even eating a patty on the burger. Yes, I could have added another patty for $1, but thought I would give the "base model" a try first. Here's another thought, if they only charge $1 for an additional patty, how much are they paying for that patty? $0.20? $0.30? I don't know the restaurant business, but they may want to consider buying a $1 patty and increasing the prices slightly. I would have paid $2 extra if I could get a respectable amount of beef on the burger. Bottom line, I probably won't be back unless they offer a more substantial patty to balance out the flavors within the burger. read more

We were underwhelmed. The prices are on the low side (at least, for a sit-down joint with beer), and the food itself is fine, but the portions are meager. The burger was ok, but the patty was tiny. Both the fries and the shake were good, but again: so small! Don't go hungry. It's great that some of the profits go to a good cause, so maybe go for a light lunch on a day when you're short on both cash and expectations? Otherwise go to Habit. read more

Kyle's Kitchen is a great place for a quick meal between activities. Lots of tasty food, healthy options and good value.

You've got to love a business that is so centered on giving back to the community. Beyond that, Kyle's has great, fresh food at reasonable prices and a nice local beer and wine selection. I love the Thai peanut salad and the earth burger but they have meatier selections for my husband too. If you're lucky you'll get to meet Kyle, who is an excellent host. read more

We accidentally sent our online order to the Hollister location :-( Chris took care of us and remade our order to save us a trip. Customer Service was great, our burgers were delicious and made quickly. I love that they donate proceeds to worthy causes. Came to this place by pure accident while driving through. The food was pretty great but the cause is even more amazing. We tried the mountain climber and the cheesy pig and both are great. My husband had the Oreo shake which was on point. I went with the mint cucumber lemonade. The lemonade was extremely refreshing and also tasted very fresh. I highly recommend coming here for the food but as an add on you will be supporting a great cause. read more

Came here for lunch to try it out for the first time. Didn't know what to expect... To my surprise, I was told this place was opened by the same owner as Silver Greens. Got me excited as I really miss the pesto burger. Ordered the California Chicken Club w/fries and a drink and also the jalapeño mountain climber. Service was quick as there wasn't a line. The burgers were ok for the price. The price for the combo to add fries and a drink was an addl $4 which I thought was a bit pricey. I didn't give it 5 stars because refills for lemonade were an addl $1.50 and they were $3 to begin with. WTH! read more

I love burgers. With that said, this place was good but it was not the best. In fact, I can't see myself craving this as a "must eat at" when I visit Santa Barbara. However, I fully support what Kyle's kitchen stands for and I think that makes the burger taste just a little bit better. read more

Definitely good . Had the California club , very tasty but not that filling . Its a chicken breast with guacamole onions tomatoes on their buns which are so soft . It's a simple menu and the location is very clean . The service is great . Fast friendly with no corners cut. I even saw Kyle there . read more

Disclaimer: I didn't order a beef burger. I ordered the Tuscan burger which is chicken breast, pesto, arugula, and tomato on a brioche bun ($5) and regular fries ($3). Yep people are right, the brioche bun is excellent - soft in all but crispy at the edges. I was a little disappointed at the chicken breast because it was a little thin and, yes, I knew ordering chicken breast meant dry meat - Kyle's Kitchen chicken breast wasn't an exception - but the pesto made up for most of the expectation. Nothing really to rave about. The regular fries weren't worth $3. They were limp, warm, and had a decent portion. I'm assuming everything cost the way it does since they donate to different organizations in the community. However I left feeling full and content nonetheless, I just wish it was at least $1 cheaper. I have yet to try their salads and beef burgers. I'm willing to give this place another chance. read more

A friend suggested the California Club which is a grilled chicken sandwhich. It is what I get everytime I visit now. I haven't found any of the salads very appealing. I was very turned off by the Ahi in my Body the one time I ordered it. My visit tonight promted me to write a review. Long line when first arrived moved very quickly. However there were no available tables that were clean. We had to clean our own tables and when asked for a rag the person just dropped it off at the table and watched us wipe it down ourselves. Just not something you want from a place where you eat is to have to clean up after other people. read more

This is a really great spot for a quick lunch or informal dinner. They have a varied menu with typical things like hamburgers to more interesting things such as the quinoa salad. There is patio seating or inside. You order at a counter and there is usually a line, but worth the wait. I'm giving it 5 stars just as long as you understand this is not fancy. I loved everything about this place! If you're looking for a family oriented restaurant great for both kids and adults, this is your place. They have beers and wines for adults, different types of lemonades, and several milkshakes. I especially liked the way the restaurant was designed with a chalkboard wall and colorful paintings throughout, plus the always smiling Kyle! The food was great, the service was great, and the atmosphere is great, and to top it all off you're supporting a great cause by eating here. I would much rather spend money here than at some big corporation. FYI You have to try the strawberry lemonade which is absolutely delicious!! read more

What a fantastic place to have a nice meal with my family. Love this restaurant and will continue to be a customer. The Rustic Tuscan Chicken Sandwich is so outrageously fantastic, even my 16 month old Grandson loved it and gobbled it down. The prices are amazing and on top of that the service is great! How could you not love this place with all it has to offer and on top of that you are supporting a charity. Time for more businesses to get their act together and become this type of business!
