I've been going to Kyle's since they opened in 2014. I love their burgers. I love their story behind the restaurant. I don't live in Santa Barbara so I only get to Kyle's when I'm in town (3-4 times a year). And this is always my go-to spot. The experience today was amazing in terms of the food. My Mountain Climber was perfect! I'm boring and usually this is the only one I get, but that's because of how good it is. I feel like their patties have gotten bigger since I was last here. No complaints about the service, and no complaints about the ambiance. I always love sitting in the booth and playing the quiz game that's on the surrounding monitors. One thing to note is that if you're ordering on the app, it doesn't seem to always include the seasonal specials. When I arrived at the store (after ordering online) there were some in-house specials that looked particular interesting that I'd have been interested in. I went in split on whether I wanted a burger or chicken sandwich. To my delight, they had these big pictures promoting sliders! Sounded like a great idea. So I got a combo with a crispy chicken slider and avocado burger slider. Well, one of the biggest disappointments I've had in a while. They were thin and microscopic, with huge pieces of bread dwarfing its contents. Nothing like the little fat and juicy sliders in the picture... The chicken was the thinnest piece of chicken I've ever seen. Like literally, a chicken McNugget at McDonalds is thicker. And the beef patty, I couldn't even see it on the slider. It was a tiny little medallion that barely took up half the surface area of the piece of bread. The burger tasted chewy and of charcoal, overcooked. Luckily, the meat was only about 2 bites worth anyway... The medallion of meat was so microscopic, so I see how it can be overcooked. The fries were alright. Nicely seasoned, but nothing to get excited about. Honestly, when I purchased the meal it was a little cheaper than I had expected. And when I ordered it, I took that as a bad sign. Seriously, I'd be willing to pay more money for a higher quality product. On the plus side, the place was clean, comfortable, and the staff friendly. So no fault on them... Previously I had another one of their chicken sandwiches. It was alright. Nothing special, but it was decent. Overall, I basically see nothing worth returning to at this place. Some of the deals with a classic burger or a chicken sandwich are affordable. Herbs on the fries were subtle but nice. Loved the mix fruit drinks!! I arrived at 12:05, but my order wasn't on the pickup shelf and still hadn't been prepared. Meanwhile, several people who ordered in person were getting their meals before mine. It was 12:15 and I couldn't wait any longer. I understand that restaurants get busy, but being considerate of customers' time especially when they pre-order is important. They offered nice indoor and outdoor seating areas with a steady flow of customers. I beat the line at noon and then everyone started coming in. My hubby and I got the Klasic burger for $10. I've come to Kyle's numerous times and it's always consistent. Service is pretty quick and you can also order online if you want to grab and go. My office is right down the street so it's a perfect place to pick up lunch for the team! If you stay and eat, there's a ton of seating inside and on the patio, plus they have TVs which my husband loves if there's a football game on. My favorite go-to sandwich is the spicy chicken avocado which is packed with flavor and a little heat. Loved our lunch at Kyle's. We have been on a bit of a fried chicken and chicken tender kick lately, so I ordered the burger lol while my kids had the chicken sandwich and chicken box. We also splurged on milkshakes, chocolate mint chip and cookies & cream. Service was pretty quick and friendly. Everything was cooked properly and they even left out the onions on my burger as requested. So many places end up giving them to me and they just go to waste, as I'm allergic to them. The burger itself was tasty as the bun was most amazing, fluffy with a good cover to it. Milkshakes were a more milky than cream-y. My son said his chicken was pretty good, nice and crunchy and tender inside. Would have been five stars but the fries weren't that great. My daughter's spicy chicken sandwich was enormous and well seasoned and not too spicy. We went in after the normal lunch time so it wasn't terribly crowded but I can imagine it does get pretty busy. read more

I love supporting local businesses and actually went to school with Kyle. I have celiac and was so sad when I went to order and nobody knew anything about how the food was prepared or what allergens the different items contained. They couldn't tell me if fries were done in a shared fryer or provide any information on allergy protocol. I asked them to note that I have a gluten allergy but it wasn't taken seriously as I could see bread crumbs on the lettuce of the burger. I typically go to in n out or Mesa burger because their fries are safe for gluten free people and they have amazing and transparent allergy protocols. We always enjoy Kyle's, this was our first visit to this location. They cost more than a fast food joint, but the food quality and their service are way better. Imagine Chick-fil-a staff serving upscale food. This time I tried their buffalo chicken sandwich. It was very good, covered with onion straws and bleu cheese, but not as good as their spicy chicken sandwich. Then again, their spicy chicken is the best so I'm not surprised. After a strenuous morning of shopping and battling long lines at Costco it was nice to venture across Hollister Avenue to Kyle's Kitchen. As we entered their dining area, which was very clean and organized, we all couldn't help but stop to sing along to the music on their sound system, the dulcet tones of Baha Men, "Who let the dogs out." So of course during our lunch we would occasionally let out a "woof, woof, woof, woof. Yi-Pi-Y-Yo." A delightful young man at the counter named Zo was very helpful in getting us all focused on their menu items, and he also made some good food suggestions. One of us went big and ordered The Cheesy Pig, I thoroughly enjoyed my Mountain Climber burger, and there were two Ahi in my Body burgers that we all got to share. The half and half of the French Fries and Onion Strings was a perfect compliment to our meals. They have also opened up within this location a new Kyle's Tap Room, which gave a wide selection of beers. During their daily Happy Hour they have nice specials on their beers, wine, mock-tails, and shareables. Also nice that you can order from each table on your phone. Great little local joint. The counter service is adequate but the servers are very muted and just doing the job. The place could use better chairs IMHO. They are cheap and uncomfortable.
