I have even tried ordering on the app and scheduling it for pickup, but the process of picking it up at the counter is still cumbersome. Even with the mobile order and showing up when the app alerts me that the food is ready, I still wait 10-15 minutes to get it, which defeats the purpose of pre-ordering it... A lot of times it's also hard to get the attention of the workers to ask a question or get extra sauce, etc. Sometimes they throw in a cookie or extra fries to make up for the wait time, which is appreciated, but ultimately doesn't make up for the frustration. Located on the corner of Hollister and Glen Annie, Kyle's shares a large lot with two other restaurants. The outdoor patio is significantly better compared to the one at Calle Real because it's on the side of the building rather than in front, with less cars passing by. Inside there's a couple of small round tables with bar height seating as well as some group tables. Some have six chairs, which are not pretty cramped. They serve about 10 different burgers, each having their own unique set of ingredients. If you want, you have the option to add/remove ingredients and substitute different buns/proteins. I think a common observation most people have is that the portions feel small for the price they are commanding. And that's pretty valid, they charge $7-9 each and all the burgers I've ordered had their contents arranged so that the ingredients are spread out, with a patty that looks to be on the smaller side. I tried to switch things up and got the Ahi In My Body this time around. The patty is seared ahi tuna, along with crushed avocado, sprouts, arugula, tomatoes, wasabi aioli, and a tasty brioche bun. It's a cold burger some people may find off putting, but it was a delicious combination that worked well. Mine was also a little light on the avocado. The hand-cut fries were double-fried with some seasoning sprinkled in, which I found amazing. One menu item I usually get is the Mint Choc Chip milkshake! I'm just a big fan of dessert, and Kyle's sells cookies and ice cream as well. Prices may be on the high end, but they also do pair it combos. When we arrived, a sign said we can order online and have them brought out to the table but when we tried to do that the website said this location does not support that. In the past I'd go for the heaviest most guilty-pleasure-y kind of burger but I'm getting old and now get the simplest burger on the menu, which has the benefit of allowing me to taste the burger for what it is, beyond the flavor theatrics. I got the standard Kyle's cheeseburger and loved it. Oh man, everything was perfect, I wish I lived closer to SB! The bun was soft, and not stale. The meat was juicy and thick. The sauce and cheese added layers of flavor without overpowering the rest of the burger. I'm not sure what the sauce was, maybe something like a Thousand Island without the pickles with a hint of extra salt or spice. The fries were great too. Yesterday evening (Saturday 3/26/22) my wife & I went to the Kyle's Kitchen location by Costco. The food was great and so were almost all the staff but we were shocked by how rude Miguel was. We got there at 8:35pm (25min before closing). There was a group of about 6 people in front of us but as we entered they turned around to leave. They looked dejected and it was clear they hadn't ordered anything. We soon found out why. As we approached the counter to order, Miguel-who seemed to be training Zander-had Zander tell us "Since we're closing soon we're currently only accepting takeout orders". "That's fine," we responded. Then we overheard the following which was said loud enough for us to clear: "Too bad that usually gets people to leave," said Miguel. "But don't we want them here because that means more business?" responded Zander uncomfortably. "No, we need to focus on cleaning up now," replied Miguel. Despite clearly not being welcome by Miguel, we decided to order anyway (~8:40pm). Zander (who took our order) was particularly kind and helpful. While we were waiting for our food Zander came over and apologized for the wait informing us that there was only 1 person left in the kitchen. We told him that that was no problem. We saw 2 other unwelcoming events while waiting for our food. First: a group of ~6 people walked in about 8:45pm and Miguel immediately approached them at the front door and told them that it was online / DoorDash pickup orders only at that point. (Which I suspect meant it wasn't even possible to place an order since online orders usually get cut off a while before a restaurant closes.) Second: at about 8:50pm a woman who had been eating in the restaurant when we arrived went to the counter seemingly to order ice cream. She stood there for a while and Miguel just ignored her. Eventually he walked out of the room and a female member of the staff went and took her order. (Like Zander, she also seemed to be kind and helpful.) This won't stop me from continuing to visit Kyle's Kitchen. I've been to most of the SB area locations and every other time both the food and service has been great. But it seems like Miguel is trying to train his colleagues to be unwelcoming. Hopefully this can be dealt with. read more

Amazing food and quality service. My friends and I stopped here for dinner and it was delish. I got their firehouse burger, I only wish it was spicier. It was topped with jalapenos but the jalapenos didn't have much of a kick. I saw that they had drink machines behind the counter so I asked the employee what the drinks were. I made my burger into a combo, and asked if It would cost extra to have their peach ginger lemonade for my drink. The employee said yes it would be extra, but he would give it to me for free no charge. So nice of him! Definitely get their peach ginger lemonade, it's so tart and sweet. HOWEVER, I am DISGUSTED and DISAPPOINTED by the immaturity of whoever cooked/prepared the plant based burger today.
