While walking downtown of Santa Barbara, we stumbled upon this creepy looking alley . I was so intrigued by a chicken fast food being in a random alley!! Walking to order food, the decor and outside is so cute. I love the art and it's just a little hidden gem basically. We got the cheese curds and the combo of 2 Sandos and Fries. The fries are super flavorful unlike any other. The sliders are bomb, the coleslaw hits with their chicken. We got the spice levels of Country and Mild. Country was for me since I can't really handle spice. But trying Mild, it wasn't much spicy either. So I suggest getting anything higher if you want a kick to it. The cheese curds are basically small versions of mozzarella sticks , pretty good and cheese and it comes with a lot! I'd come again to try their spicier flavors. read more

I wanted to give this place a try but I won't be back. Service was okay, not warm but not mean either, just subpar. I ordered a chicken sandwich combo. Upon first bite of my sandwich, there was a hard stone like object which freaked me out. Not sure if it was hardened batter from the breading on the chicken, or a bone, but I found two more. The tender was very thick and girthy, and I prefer more of a filet to fit the size of the sandwich bun. Honey and ranch were both $1 each. The honey was just smuckers in an individual wrapped plastic cup. $1 for that? Ouch. read more

I love eating at this place. It's my go to when I'm craving spicy chicken but I have really gotten fed up with the fact that they never have coins in their register. I don't have bank account so I always pay in cash and the total is never an even amount so I'm always forced to tell them to keep my change. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. The food is way over priced for food that is of poor quality and inconsistent. I've been here more then a few times cause I wanted to like them and give them a chance and every time they always give me an excuse, "I'm sorry but we don't have coin change any more, is that ok?" Or some BS like that. It's obvious they do it on purpose, they are pocketing the extra change whenever someone makes a cash purchase. How hard is it to go to the bank and make sure your register has the proper amount of change for customers to make cash purchases. It's ridiculous and a shame on the owner for doing this to their customers. The young foreign guy that has an accent, has very poor customer service too and spends his time on the phone instead of helping customers, he'll see you and wait for one of his other employees to help you even when he's standing there on the phone or watching something on it, I've witnessed this ever time I've been here. If you don't mind spending a lot of money for poor food and service then Drippin Chicken is your place. Just be prepared for them to not have "Coin Change" for you, which will be never, when you make a cash purchase. This place needs so much improvement it's embarrassing. Beware!! read more

The space is well designed and lots of seating, indoor and out. Looks like it could be a great place to grab a bite eventually. Stopped in to attend the advertised Grand Opening today at 12 noon. Yes, mayor was there and did ribbon cutting as advertised; but not sure what else was supposed to happen. Stood in line to order food for 30 minutes, line moving very slowly and didn't see any food coming out. No specials that we could see, for the first 100 people, as advertised, so we left. Very disorganized and disappointing grand opening. I'll give them a little time and come back sometime to try chicken and update review. read more

Staff was incredibly rude. They would refuse to take orders from in-person customers and ignored questions. They would make rude remarks everytime someone tried to get their attention and raised their voice at customers. Food was also bland by not being spiced/seasoned properly. read more

Hot chicken in Santa Barbara!!! Highly recommend this spot. It's in the back of the mill behind Casa Agria Ales. First of all, you have to check out Casa Agria for some of the best beers in the area. It shares a patio with Drippin Chicken. Fun outdoor patio that Modern Times Beer put into place before they disappeared. Anyway back to the chicken: I had read that medium was underwhelming, so I went with the hot flavor and it was great. Nice crispy outside, flavorful moist inside. And some of the best fries I've had! Definitely order the sliders and fries. I hope this place stays in business since the food and location are excellent. Check it out!! read more

We stood at the window waiting to order for 15 minutes. The gentleman behind the fryer ignored us and the cashier or attendant was sitting at one of the benches the entire time and did not get up. Picked up two vegetarian chicken sandwiches, with fries, cheese curds and slaw. Staff was nice and great at answering our questions. We ordered our sandwiches medium, but I think we could have done the next spice level up. Medium was what I'd call a slow burn, you felt the heat more at the end. Cheese curds were great. And everything held up on the 15 minute walk before we ate it. Decently priced, I do wish the "chicken patty" had been a bit more substantial but I was satisfied oversell. Food was prepared fresh to order and was tasty. I can see how people think these guys are rude as they are not very good with customer service or communication. Overall, I had an ok experience. The employees were nice. The location is great. My only issue was the food. To start, this was not Nashville fried chicken. There seemed to be little to no breading on the chicken, so it was lacking the crunch I was expecting. But, the chicken was cooked well and was juicy inside. The fries were crispy and fresh. However, they were seasoned with the same seasoning as the chicken, which I was not a fan of. It was EXTREMELY sweet. I couldn't even finish a whole tender. The fried pickles were super crunchy and great with the ranch, but for a $6 side I was disappointed with how little I received. These two meals + the side of fried pickles + 2 extra sauces came to a total of $51 and change. I'd be fine paying this price if the food was delicious, but it unfortunately wasn't. Dis chickin be drippin. Cashier started off dry but then the service turned out to be very nice. Food took a little while but the ambiance is really relaxing and lively. There was a speed dating "friend edition" going on in the background. Overall super chill kick back spot. I had a beer from the shaker mill next door and the Sauvignon blanc paired surprisingly well with the hot chicken sando. Wings 9.5/10 crispy to my standard sauce incredible, good size and filling all you can ask for. The customer service was amazing!! Unfortunately though like other people have said the chicken is so lackluster... We got the medium and hot, but honestly the spice level is not that accurate. It wasn't as spicy as portrayed and that's coming from someone with a low to medium tolerance. Additionally, it just didn't taste very seasoned, despite looking like it would be. I would consider Dave's Hot Chicken miles better even though Dave's is a chain. Writing this review because I know it just opened, so hopefully they take the feedback into account and work on their recipe more, because I really would love to come back... only if their chicken improves..
