My best friend recommended for us to come here to have a girls' dinner. Very extensive menu with some items you do not normally see at other AYCE places, I was impressed. Too many items that we ended up trying to finished everything because we ordered too much haha. We all left content, especially with a free bubble tea after posting and tagging them on IG. A memorable dish for me was the Thai mango salmon salad. I came back again with my partner and reordered that salad and he, too, agreed that it was good. Came for a celebration with my parents. This is one of our go to AYCE restaurants around our neighborhood. It's $38.99 for an adult for their dinner menu. The ambiance was great and seating is comfortable. They have a large TV broadcasting music videos. The service is usually pretty good, but this time, it was awful. Ordering is done through a tablet and they have these robot machines that bring out your food. Usually I don't mind but I was feeling a little under the weather that day and really didn't feel like transferring the food from the robot to our table myself especially since the restaurant was quite dead on a Wednesday night and plenty of waitress were just talking. The menu is very big and you definitely won't run out of things to eat. Unfortunately, we were all feeling a little sick that day, so we skipped the deep fried stuff and just ordered more milder stuff like sushi/sashimi/soup and salads. Overall: The food is pretty good for the most part and the slices of sashimi were quite big and buttery. While their sushi and Sui Mai were really meh (the fish was not creamy/fatty to my liking & all sushi was full of rice), their grilled & deep-fried dishes were phenomenal. My mom and I REALLY enjoyed their tempura dishes and beef green onion negimaki. All the tempuras we had here (vegetables, shrimp, and Kani) were definitely tops of the game. The batter had so much integrity while being very airy & crispy, and the vegetables (eggplants & zucchini) were juicy and thick. The beef negimaki? They were grilled to perfection. The other two dishes I enjoyed were their Chinese desserts: ice jelly with raisins and red sugar fried rice balls. I had quite a bit of those. The restaurant got quite busy pretty quicky. Here are my review - fav appetizers: crab salad, seaweed salad, fried scallops, miso soup - dim sum was okay: I liked the shrimp dumplings and shrimp siu mai but they were quite filling - skip the tempura, it wasn't that crunchy and actually a bit soggy - sushi had lots of rice - torched sushi were my favourite, not that many options but so good - the special rolls were PACKED, really big and filling - we ordered some of the yakitori which never came - limited dessert options, we both had a sundae but it was just vanilla ice cream with some sauce. The "crystal honey ice jelly" was quite weird and we did not enjoy that dessert. The robots bring food to your table and at the beginning they weren't as quick but then afterwards we got all our food at once. Service was good, noticed there was cross contamination (servers using the same pair of gloves for everything). There's so many dishes that are made up of the same handful of ingredients, just presented in a slightly different way, or with different sauces just so they can say they have so many items, lol. Another good location for all you can eat Japanese cuisine. We came in lunch time and ordered AYCE dinner which is $37.99 for adult . We ordered a variety of foods, sashimi is fresh, shush is good quality too. They also have torched/ pressed sushi, which are delicious and fresh too! Service is fast and staff is friendly and can speak Mandarin. The only thing is seating area is a bit messy, and with loud Korean singing group playing on the big screen repeatedly, which is annoying and loud. Actually so so soooo surprised at how good this place is! As usual, I found out about this place through social media. I haven't been to AYCE in forever, so I didn't really know what to expect. Booking online was super easy through Google, or you can call and make a reso. It has to be for a party of at least 5 though. Making a reso is recommended because this place is busy! The food is pretty good all around. Our favourites were the torched sushi, pressed sushi, eel sashimi, mango yogurt. So good! Dim sum was good, but not the best we've had. But for the price you pay, I was really impressed with the quality of food. They even took the time to plate everything nicely. Service was superb. They took away our empty plates so fast that I had trouble finding a plate to put my shrimp tail on lol Our were topped up frequently and it was never hard to wave a server down. I even asked if I could pay with two different card and it was no problem. The staff was patient and very nice about it when I was having issues with one of my cards! The hubs was influenced on IG and drawn in by the fact that they have a promo that you can get a bubble tea WITH your meal?! Without the kids, we had spent most of the morning shopping and so we came in hungry at 1pm. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They use iPads for ordering which was great to remind us what we'd ordered and what was still to come. Presentation fo the food was great and the fish seemed fresh. We were saying how it was better than some places downtown that we'd ordered platters from. The dim sum was kind of... an after thought - I'd pass on those (except maybe the custard bun, yum!). Had dinner here last night and I was really impressed with the service as well as the food. Dishes were prepared and brought out quickly and empty plates were promptly taken away so we were not left with a cluttered table. Our water jug was refilled as soon as it was emptied, as well. The food was excellent, but I have to say the presentation was the most impressive with some dishes. In some AYCE places I've been to in the past, they just put stuff on the plate and send it out, but here they actually spend a few extra minutes to make it look amazing. We came here for the first time (for myself and my husband, anyway) to celebrate my daughter's name day. I always look forward to the annual tradition of an AYCE sushi place, which is her favourite. I like that the restaurant is accessible with lots of parking in the Metro grocery plaza. We were able to get a reservation and it was ready when we arrived. We were immediately brought our water and it was consistently replenished throughout the meal. Some of the dishes are limited to 1 order per visit, such as the crab legs and the seafood boil. I did try an order of the crab legs, which were a lot of effort for a little meat. I wasn't particularly fond of the brown garlic sauce and would have preferred plain butter but it was ok. Everything else we ordered arrived in a timely manner. I was excited to see the unauthentic deep fried rolls which include cream cheese lol. For some reason, there was no pickled ginger provided and only one small serving of wasabi for the whole table. The fried dishes were done in fresh oil which was nice. I wasn't as happy with the Thai curry but it was ok. We didn't have problems ordering sashimi like they do at some restaurants. Again at dessert, we were limited to 1 piece of each type of dessert, which was also disappointing. The ice cream came in pre-packed little cups, like you get in a hospital lol. They also had a soft serve available in a cone which I've never seen at a sushi AYCE before. The bill came with the gratuity already added on. They do give a 5% discount for paying cash. Most of the food was great, the deep fried squid tentacles and mackerel were really good here. Wish their rolls came in smaller portions as 8 pieces is a lot for 2 diners, so we only ordered the one roll. The restaurant was well packed but I guess we came at a good time and was seated after about 15 minutes. The downside of waiting is the blindingly bright sign for Kung Fu Tea. Can they please dim that sign? The service was good once you're able to get their attention as they speed walk past the tables, and calling them on the iPad didn't really help.
