One of my favorite spots for AYCE hotpot in Philly, great variety of meats and selection for add-ins! We ordered from a tablet and get to select some specials (scallops to clams to lobsters to wagyu). Great to try a variety and I'd be lying to you if I knew which cuts I was eating. All were delicious! Sauce bar is great, lots of veggies/noodles/etc. to dunk. Sweet bottled beverages are also a plus! Staff is pretty quick with meat requests, and the restaurant is pretty clean. Kungfu hotspot is an AYCE hotpot restaurant tucked away in upstairs through a small entranceway in Philly's Chinatown. It's very well located right next to the convention center if you're in the area for an event. The restaurant has a simplistic wooden decor and is no frills but has great options for hot pot. Your table gets to pick from two broths which are divided from a centrally shared pot in the center of the table. You also get a limited quality of premium options such wagyu, which is a nice perk you don't see too often. Apart from that, you have a large selection of raw protein options to choose from that you order using an iPad on the table. Vegetables, rice, sauces, and other options are available at the walk-up bar. Unlimited drinks from the fridge are also included with the AYCE which is certainly another rarity. The service was equally attentive in ensuring the pot was filled with broth and that the table had waters. They also brought a lobster to the table complimentary as well. All and all, this a very good hot pot option for the area, that's also affordable for the value provided. The only thing that may some people may want to keep in mind is that this is a SHARED hot pot. If you're not comfortable sharing a communal boiling broth with your group, you may want to look elsewhere. I however, would be more than content revisiting in the future. read more

I have gone here twice now, and realistically my favorite thing about it is the unlimited drinks. I don't know if that's a good reasons to come spend almost $60. The reality is that it's a really midrange hotpot place. On this experience particularly we got half spicy and half regular broth and it wasn't spicy. Our waiter never returned with our extra cuts of meat when we put them in the iPad, and while the ambience is very upbeat and the playlist was lit, i just don't see myself returning. The other thing is they give lobster and we never end up eating it and my friend has now gotten sick 2 times from eating the seafood from this place. I think if you stick to the meats and cook them for long enough, you're solid. Enjoy the experience, enjoy your friend, go with an open mind and an empty stomach. I've had AYCE hot pot here several times, and just came again today with a friend - quality is pretty consistent it never disappoints, at $40pp. At this point, it's probably my go-to spot for hot pot in cinatown, would really rec! The price includes AYCE hot pot, including two special orders per person (wagyu, scallop, lobster, etc.), and my personal favorite, unlimited bottled/can drinks!! I always grab like 3 drinks whenever I come, can't miss out on the childhood favs like the coconut milk & jasmine tea. They have a pretty good selection of the typical hot pot meat and vegetable options, and everything was yummy. The service is pretty self-sufficient, you order the frozen meats on the ipad that they give you, and they bring you the food. Other than that, you can help yourself to the rest of the food and sauces, buffet style. The only limiting thing here is dessert. The hot pots here are also more communal, in that there's one large pot in the middle - great for larger groups! I never had to make a reservation in the past, and there was no wait today on a Saturday afternoon. It was my first time here. A friend and I crossed over from Jersey to Philly despite the snowy weather. It took some time to find, but it was well worth the trouble and the wait! Hot Pot done right. We chose beef bone and Tom Yum broth. It was so good- very satisfying and delicious. Perfect for this cold winter! I had no issues with the service. They were prompt and followed up like they should. At the end they did accidentally overcharge me, but fortunately they caught their mistake and made the necessary corrections. It did not take away from my overall experience. read more

Medium spicy is pretty spicy even though Im Asian, so be careful for those that cant handle heat. Great option overall and even have free lobster! There was 7 of us so we got two lobsters. Their premium limited items were phenomenal too, the wagyu was probably american but really well marbled. They also have a small section of cold plates ready to eat that were great, i liked the tripe dish a lot. Also free drinks is such a plus and they got some cool asian drinks. Let me start off by saying this was quite the experience and not in a good way. Most will say why even stayed after the initial experience, and I'm not sure either. Getting into the elevator to come up to the restaurant was an awful smell. Flag number one. I was Leary on how clean this place was going to be however continued on. As we were waiting for the broth, a mice comfortably went across the tables, told the manager and employees, they simply advised yeah we have a pest control that comes. Flag two and at this point we should've walked out. Went to get our bowls and realized they were not fully cleaned. We then noticed no one wears head covers so I was worried about that. Our meats then came to our tables and a huge hair was on the salmon, very hard to not notice. It was gross. We got 10% off for the "bad experience". Do not come here. These reviews are not accurate. Came here for the third or fourth time. It never disappoints. They always have good selections of meat and vegetables options. The included bottled/can drinks are also so good. For $39.99, it is all you can eat and with two premium items per person. Good value and tasty! The staff was kind and checked on the water level a few times. I recommend waitlisting or making a reservation on Yelp ahead of time as the wait can be quite long during prime dining hours. The inside seems clean but the elevator going up was a bit sketchy. Price for all you can eat includes lobster, crab, ribs, on top of the special proteins, so there is only the one price level. Other places may have 2 tiers for regular or premium but this only has 1 so be ready. Nice inside and the tables are big for all your plates and such. Staff good at bringing out more things for you or filling up broths. All the food trays were nicely kept and refilled when low. I've heard a lot about hot pot but didn't think it could be a worthwhile experience for me since I'm pescatarian-- I was so wrong. I LOVED this experience! First off, this spot is on the third floor so their entrance on Cherry St. is just an elevator. Upstairs, it's a big and bustling space. We came on a Friday night at 8:30pm for a pre-Lunar New Year parade dinner, and it was crowded because a lot of people had the same idea! We had a to wait a bit even though we had a reservation but we didn't mind because they had benches by the front. We got to pick two broths (we went with the spicy broth, tom yum) and since we were a group of three, we got a free lobster too. We ordered some other specialty seafood and meat to the table on a little paper sheet as well as on the iPad. We did order salmon sashimi and never received that unfortunately. We had to remind our server about some of the other things we ordered (they were swamped, to be fair), but we had more than enough food to eat. A highlight for me was the help yourself section towards the front. They have a ton of different vegetables, seasonings, sauces, fruit, and a fridge of great beverages that you can get at your leisure. Like I said, we had more than enough food to eat! Pricing was $39 for the AYCE, and total per person came out to around $53 with tax and tip. Quick Recommendations (from my first hotpot experience): - the spicy broth gets spicier as you use more, and even with added water, the flavor got a little overwhelming by the end of it - be prepared to google cooking times for the seafood, they don't provide recommendations so it's really on you - wear clothes you can wash easily in the event of spills and also smell (because the sauce can be potent) read more

I came here with a friend while visiting Philadelphia, and candidly wasn't sure what to expect with the flat pricing. I was worried for no reason--the premium and non-premium items were incredible, and they had a fantastic selection of fresh vegetables, tofu, and other fixings. The place itself is very unassuming from the outside, but inside it feels like you've been transported to a small village during a festival. The way the seating is set up makes your table feel more private than most restaurants, and the overall vibe is very chill. We didn't feel pressured to rush, but service was also fast enough that we didn't feel like we were sat waiting on service and wasting our own time, either. First time here, I had my eyes at this place for hot pot for a while based on the good rating, finally got the chance to go because my daughter keep bugging me about hot pot so I said ok. Went up to 3rd floor from the elevator and it's there. Seating are very nice as it's all wood bench, the environment is nice and clean with a lot of space. Plenty of food to choose from, most of the main food pick from iPad and it will send it to the kitchen, at anytime you want more just add more item and send it from the iPad. Drinks are included and it seems like you can get as many drink you want from the fridge. The side stations have all the veggies, tofu, fish ball type of food, a sauce station to make your own food. Anyway, they came out with a lobster which seems like it's included for everyone, I picked what we like and all the food was fresh and tasty. I'm from MD, and for the price, this spot was far superior to anything I've tried back home. One thing that really stood out--and I'm surprised more people haven't mentioned it--is the rich bone broth. Unlike most places that dilute the broth with water as you go, they actually refill it with more broth, keeping the flavor deep and satisfying throughout the meal. We had a party of four adults and two kids and were offered two lobsters plus ten items from the special menu. We went all in with eight orders of wagyu and two orders of scallops--both were excellent. The quality of the meats on the unlimited menu was incredibly fresh, which isn't always the case at all-you-can-eat spots. Beyond the meats, they had a great selection of frozen balls, veggies, tofu, and an impressive sauce bar. The all-you-can-drink Asian beverages were a nice bonus. I would go back in a heartbeat.
