Been a fan of Kung Fu Tea and happy to see one open in the Plano area. They offer a variety of teas and slushes, as well as desserts like cookies and macaroons. Definitely a great place for milk tea and boba! I highly recommend coming to here if you are in Plano (especially if you are lucky enough to take a fun winter bootcamp for the Princeton Review or Karen Dillards). The inside of Kung Fu Tea is extremely modern and they even have a brand new 60 inch television! I ordered the KF (Kung Fu) milk tea with boba and mango popping bubbles. The milk tea was $3.25 for a regular size and each additional topping was an extra $0.50. I think it was a bit pricey, but definitely worth every penny. The milk tea was not overly sweet and had a good amount of toppings as well. In addition, they make the milk tea with a big shaking machine that really resembles their kung fu tea name. Lastly, the service was very fast and the cashiers were very friendly and professional. The classic teas aren't that good here, like the Milk Tea, but others like the Taro Milk Tea are definitely worth the try. A great thing about KF Tea is also the flexibility they have with your drink. You can ask for less sugar at different levels (50%, 30%, etc.) and less/no ice. Remember to bring cash. There is a 5 dollar minimum for credit cards. The customer service here is fair. One time my friend saw a piece of hair in her drink, but the staff was more than happy (and a bit disgusted) to remake the drink for her. Other than that, the boba is soooo good!! read more

To make things worse, if there is one person in front of you, it takes 25 minutes! This store is absolutely ridiculous. No concept of customer service here! This is my go-to boba place. It's convenient and fairly priced. Restaurant is clean, lots of options, and the service has always been friendly and fast. I think the biggest benefit to going here is their rewards program and having the franchise to visit multiple locations to utilize those rewards. If you're a regular boba drinker, then definitely get the rewards program. With a long line in-front of me and a busy rush hour, I had one of the cashiers ask me if I could start the new line so that she could take more orders. I've been here 2 days in a row now and ordered the medium coconut tea with boba and half sugar both times. Good taste, nice custom options such as amount of sugar and ice. Wish they would let us customize the type of tea like some other places do. I prefer oolong to black. Nevertheless, a great option to have in the neighborhood and hang out spot for the kids. The only reason I gave them 3 stars vs. 4 was because they have a $5 minimum for cards. Best bubble tea hands down in NC. One of my favorite places, sometimes I go twice a week even though I live 30 minutes away because it's just that good!! The bubbles have that perfect texture and are chewy and not at all soggy, they're also sweet enough but never too overpowering when it's in the drink. Awful just awful. I have been here twice now and both times my drink has tasted putrid and rotten. The second time it was so bitter I physically felt ill to my stomach. I ordered the same thing as my friend, a strawberry lemon green tea, and it was obvious that the drinks were different. The workers must have forgotten to add lemon, because all you could taste was the overpowering bitterness of the green tea. Each time I have gone here, it is obvious that the staff is not prepared and does not know how to make the drinks. The cashier I spoke to has had to ask other workers there the details on making a drink twice. I went to the restroom and both toilet paper rolls were empty. If Kung Fu Tea cannot even keep their restrooms maintained, I'm not sure what that means about their service as a whole. This newest location of KFT is owned the same owner of the KFT in Richardson off 75/campbell. The quality is still very high and service is fairly quick and similar. I went here during the BOGO grand opening special and it wasn't quite as crazy as when they did the grand opening in Richardson. The space is not stand alone, so its a bit smaller but the drink quality and service is pretty much the same. Still better than the Carrollton location in my opinion. Glad to have another option and in my days growing up the place go to was Java N Cha, KFT will fill those big shoes I hope. read more

I love the other Kung Fu Tea in Richardson but that one was closed so I came to this one and boy was I extremely disappointed. The lady at the checkout at around 10:15 pm. That lady was rude and didn't listen to what I ordered. First I asked her for the cocoa cream wow and they were out of the milk, then I asked for Thai tea and she said it wasn't on the menu in a sassy way, which I didn't know was a thing cause I've definitely ordered it at other KFT locations twice. I also asked for no ice and obviously I got ice and lots of it. She also didn't ask if we wanted boba cause obviously I want boba at a boba place but I guess that ones on me for not asking for it. Eventually I settled for the matcha with a milk cap, we got two of them which came out to about $13 which isn't cheap. The drink were undrinkable. The matcha powder or whatever wasn't dissolved and there was way too much in there which made the drink bitter. It was more grainy and sandy than creamy. It felt more like chewing than drinking. It actually hurts our throats to drink it. The milk cap is way too salty and it doesn't have the right consistency at all. We went to sweet hut and got THAI TEAS right after. What a shame cause KFT is My favorite boba place but I guess I'll have to find a new boba place til the other one opens back up. read more

I was really excited to be back after seeing that they released new drinks, but I'm really disappointed at the terrible and slow service. They need to train their workers better. I came with 2 of my friends during my school lunch, so the place was pretty empty; when we arrived, there was only one customer, and only 2 people walked in around 5 minutes after we did. The cashier sucked at her job; maybe she was just tired, but it's not really an excuse, especially at 12 pm. When I ordered my drink, I said, "large lychee black tea," and she then asked me, "what size?" I was a tad bit annoyed, but I politely repeated "large." Then she selected the wrong drink, and after I pointed out her mistake, she asked me for the size again. Additionally, after she rang up my order, she forgot to give me and my friends our receipts, so we didn't know what our call #s were. Even worse, my friends and I waited 15-20 min for a mere 3 drinks on this very slow day even though there were 2 workers behind the counter, so I really don't understand why it took them so freaking long. In fact, my friends and I were late to class, but we could've made it back on time if they weren't so unnecessarily slow. Furthermore, when my drink was ready, the worker left it on the counter and forgot to call out my drink. The lychee black tea itself was pretty good like their other fruit teas I have tried, but whoever made my drink put wayyyyyy too much lychee jelly into my drink. Half of my cup was filled just boba and lychee jelly; I would much rather have more tea than toppings. When I'm in the Plano area this is the one I go to. I am typically happy with this location but today was a totally different experience. I waited 25 mins for 2 milk teas. The carrollton location has way more customers than this one and I have NEVER waited more than 10 mins for some tea. I told the guy I had been waiting 25 mins and all he could do was say "sorry and thank you for waiting." I already paid so why wouldn't I wait? They should let customers know in advance if there's a wait. It didn't seem that busy, there wasn't even a line at the register and the tables weren't even filled. Asked for my rewards and the cashier mentioned they are out of cards however he suggested stamping my receipt. Manager or owner said no. KFT has been on my list of places to try as soon as I begrudgingly make my way over to Houston, so I was super happy to find this one had opened 5 minutes away from my house. I've been sick af this week so I decided to go back to my Asian roots and scald the sh*t out of my sore throat with some good ol' milk tea. $3.50 for my hot honey oolong milk tea, which was better than I expected. I'm that person with the complicated Starbucks order, so I appreciate how much you can customize the ice/sugar levels for your drink. The medium cup is pretty sizeable. Tea was great, bubbles were disappointingly a little too hardened and chewy. No sass encountered with the service as was frequently mentioned in the Houston KFT reviews (yet another reason why Dallas is better..). They have a giant TV and wifi, although it was so loud that even getting your order across is a strug - so I can't imagine getting any work done in there. Spacious, cute decor, and clean with good Insta lighting from the entrance wall being all windows. Pops wasn't the least bit impressed with his KF Black Tea, but I think the whole thing was too millenial compared to the hole-in-the-wall places he's used to in Taiwan. For the rest of y'all '90's ABCs, this place will do the job for your boba fix (nobody tell Fat Straws I cheated on them). Worth braving the PTSD from Karen Dillard's a couple doors down! read more

First impression wasnt the best. $5 minimum, that was ok. They all have a minimum. The attendant was friendly. She helped me decide sweetness of my drink. I asked if they had a loyalty card because it was my first time, and I was told by a friend that this was the best place for bubble tea so why not get a loyalty card. The attendant stated "they were out and check back next month. Corporate might come out with an app."I asked if I could bring my receipt back, she said no everyone has a receipt. I then wait for my drink. The girl calls out my number, and I make my way to get my drinks. She said my number again, and I said yes. Prices are alright. We had the iced coffee. I usually get it at Vietnamese places, where it's generally very strong coffee. Here it was a bit weak and the flavor was lacking that je nais se quoi. Service was very slow - took maybe five minutes to get two coffees, and much of that time the workers were not actively making my coffee. Upon electronic payment, you're queried on giving a tip before receiving your purchase. Not sure why you'd tip at a place without a waiting staff but I felt guilty so I did anyhow. I love this place! Had the almond milk tea with panda boba - i got it 70% sweet because sometimes the drinks are just WAY too sweet! I loved it and Freya was super bubbly and courteous! I got a matcha layered crepe cake, and it was DELICIOUS! It was really busy (like 7 people in the line), but the drinks came out real fast. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Despite the parking lot construction, this place is our new "starbucks". The menu is a bit overwhelming and maybe that it is just really basic and simple but there isn't much of a description to help you make your decision as to what to order other than hot, cold, s/m/large, do I want additions (bubbles, etc.). For instance, what is the difference between mango and mango snow? Pricing is a bit much but hey, so is Starbucks. The store is run by a lot of young teenager so don't expect much customer service.
