Taro slush with pudding and crystal pearls
    Chelsea A.

Decided to take a trip down memory lane in GSP since I no longer live in NJ. Kung Fu Tea sounded like a good idea since it happens to be located at one of my favorite spots in GSP - Cotton On. Since there was no line (it's usually crowded) I decided to introduce my partner to a cool combo that KFT was offering: taro slush with pudding. There was an issue with the payment system they use - Level Up - but the manager was super patient: They also got the order wrong twice but again, the staff was really patient and took care of it as best as they could. Though the experience wasn't perfect, the way the staff handled everything was very on point. And will say if you like a sweet dessert that brings you to a tropical Asian destination, taro slush with pudding and crystal pearls is where it's at!

    Delicious Lychee Punch

Another delicious tea! Had the Lychee Punch- no sugar & little ice. Absolutely loved it. Pieces of Lychee were yummy. Addictive!

Ordered grapefruit yogurt, passion fruit green tea & olong milk tea. Im disappointed at the yogurt grapefruit. It's just not how it usually taste like when i order in new york. The yogurt & grapefruit are completely separated! :( Sigh~ im going back to gongcha . At least the quality is always the same. Plus they take amex. :)

    The best Coconut Milk Tea

Amazing service a worker named Declan gave me the best tasting coconut milk tea i've ever tasted in my entire life. I go here often and Declan is by far the best worker.

    Fresh boba

I think kung fu tea is my favorite boba spot. The boba is nice and soft, and their drinks are flavorful. This one is a kiosk style stand in the middle of the mall.

    Mango Slush

The line was long and the wait was longer. It took us about 15 mins to get our order. They should get more people as the 2 workers were non-stop. The cashier was apologizing to everyone but it was not really her fault but the owner trying to squeeze more profit. In any cases, the tea and the shush were good and worth our wait.

    disgusted!

This place is awful!! After I ordered and paid at the register, I waited 15mins for just 1 order of bubble tea. I followed up and looks like they didnt even put in my order, so again i had to wait. (Also, just a suggestion you should call out order numbers from the receipt and not the flavors). When I finally got my "wintermelon milk tea" it is way darker than what other people are getting but I didnt bother going back since I didnt want to wait any longer. And come the surprise, after I'm half way done drinking my bitter tea, I noticed the shaker cap in my tea. I was so upset and disgusted! (See picture) - messy: yes, one of girls fixed the rubber mat under the shaker machine and went back to putting bubbles into the cups without washing her hands. - No consistency on mixture - Not organized - *Place could be good but need better management

They offered two little slips to each customer - one for a savory crepe and one for a sweet and you can build you own. Great concept but it would be beneficial if the server confirmed the order because we asked for nutella, banana, strawberry, and ice cream and got 2/4. We were in a rush to leave so forgot to check the receipt to see if we were charged for the others; however it was $48 (w/o tip) for 1 panini, 1 crepe and 1 latte so a bit overpriced for the quality of food, in my opinion. The sandwich and crepe were both just okay, nothing to rave about. The drink was aesthetically pleasing with the iced Bear and tasted great. We asked for whipped cream on the latte but our server forgot that too. She also forgot to provide us water until we asked and it came at the end of the meal.  Outside dining was not optimal as it's right next to the railroad tracks and quite loud. There is a kids play area which I thought was a nice addition to the space, but I do wish it was gated off for the younger kids as it's so close to the road! Overall, I found that it was a bit overrated and underwhelming... there are so many restaurants to choose from in the area that I wouldn't opt to come back here.

There's space to wait for your order too- so if it's cold or raining, there's room for you. They're open 7a-7p which is great. It was busy when I ran in today around 12:45p on a Sunday and that's always a good sign. It looks clean and the drinks I saw looked appetizing. The food menu sounds fantastic. The guy who helped me with my order was super nice. But I actually went in there on the hunt for something specific. It's the 2nd time I went in since they moved to the space across the street from where they were. The first time I stopped in quickly and saw they had what I was looking for but very few so I didn't buy anything. l had done a very difficult and time intensive Google search for Macaron Cafe macarons. They wholesale out of NYC and they're the best macarons ever. There are probably 6-7 places in Ridgewood that sell macarons, some that make them fresh baked. And none are as good as the ones from Macaron Cafe. Pre-covid I could find them locally pretty easily. But now, it's really hard. Most of the places that sell them put up a menu of the flavors that's very easily identifiable, and they carry the full line. By googling a photo of the menu I was able to find them in Fort Lee and American Dream and those are both too far. I'd gone into every single place that sells macarons in downtown Ridgewood except RCC and none of them have them. I finally made it into Ridgewood when RCC is open (we usually end up in Ridgewood after dinner and they're closed) and imagine my joy in seeing the macarons there. I can tell it's them instantly. Except - they only have like eight of the flavors! They don't advertise them. They don't have the menu up either, so they only way I could tell there might be a chance of them being there was an old photo of their counter from Yelp or Google. So, I didn't have any drinks or food. I just bought some macarons. And I would've bought more except that they didn't really have the flavors I wanted. There are generally around 28-32 flavors and they change/add/take away every few months/holidays, etc. My knocking a star is ONLY for the lack of flavors of these amazing macarons and only having a tease amount of flavors of them. And they should advertise their baked goods/desserts better, like in photos on instagram. They don't post enough of all their food. I had to just take a chance and come in from an old photo. I know I don't want to have to drive to American Dream mall for these macarons. And I know the girls behind me in line today were talking about how they came in for tiramisu.

Seating is first-come, first-served, and guests are placed based on availability, which keeps things fair and efficient even during busy times. The tables for two are intimate and cozy, perfect for conversation, though they can become a bit tight when ordering several dishes at once. That said, the staff was attentive and checked in often enough to clear plates and make room, which made the experience much more comfortable. The dessert menu is separate, allowing guests to enjoy their meal at an unhurried pace before deciding on something sweet. Their beverage offerings are thoughtfully presented. Herbal tea options include green tea, chamomile, and English tea (Stash), and the tea is served in a container that provides two full servings. The cappuccino is well made and served with a sugar crystal stick, adding a distinct old-world charm that enhances the café's European feel. I regret not asking for an additional order of Turkish coffee so that's a regret . What we ordered: * Greek Salad - $18.50 * Cappuccino - $6.80 * Herbal Tea - $6.00 * Uštipci - $17.25 * Musaka - $22.95 * Šnicla (Cutlet Sandwich) - $20.75 * 2 Diet Cokes - $8.00 The musaka is a baked dish and does take about 25 minutes to prepare, as it's made fresh with baked eggs, seasoned beef, and sliced potatoes layered on top. The wait is well worth it, resulting in a hearty, comforting dish that tastes authentically homemade. The Šnicla (cutlet sandwich) arrived beautifully presented on a wooden board, adding a rustic, elevated touch that matched the restaurant's aesthetic. Mom felt it lacked in seasoning but she Didnt leave any crumbs . The Uštipci were a standout--served with feta and honey, generously portioned, and so plentiful that we happily took some home. We were too full for dessert this time, but it's absolutely on the list for a return visit. Due to winter weather, we couldn't explore the back of the restaurant, but even from the main dining area, the decor is undeniably charming and full of character. Overall, Cafe Bubamara offers authentic flavors, generous portions, attentive service, and a cozy, old-world atmosphere that makes it a place worth revisiting.
