My daughter and I have been dying to try boba for a long time. We were worried that we wouldn't like it and would have wasted the monies but....today we finally got the courage up to try! We chose Kung Fu Tea and it was totally worth it. The young man, Jake, who helped us was a complete sweetheart! He was patient and helpful...then let us try boba before we ordered. Interesting texture...lol. My daughter opted for a medium coffee milk tea with popping boba and I had the same but with regular boba. Loved them both but I've gotta say that popping boba is fun! Was so excited to hear that there was a Kung Fu tea in Modesto. The only time I could drop by was after work, even though drinking milk tea at night isn't the best thing you should do if you want to sleep. It's worth it, I thought. First thing I noticed was this shop looks pretty nice. The aesthetics are there. I ordered a medium oolong milk tea with 25% sweetness. Medium size looked more of a small in my opinion. I received my drink in less than 5 minutes. As soon as I drank the milk tea I realized maybe I will actually be able to get some sleep tonight because there's little to no tea in it. It consisted mostly of milk. On the bright side, the tapioca pearls were perfect. Chewy and not too soft or too hard. Not sure if I'd come back for the milk tea, but maybe for the milk cap, milk, and wow milk options since they are not lacking in that department. If this place upped their tea concentration, it would be spot-on. read more

8/23/20 UPDATE: I pretty much come here every other day (peep the check-ins) and most of the time the drinks turn out alright however, today the customer service and management was completely terrible. Since it seems like there was an influx of mobile orders (DoorDash) around 7:30 - 8 pm, wait times for drinks were upwards of 20 minutes. Many people became impatient because orders that came after theirs were being addressed first without anyone even being immediately present to pick them up. I saw a woman get a little angry and ask one of the baristas where her drinks were (2-3 people ordered after her and all got their drinks before her) and the barista didn't even respond to her (just acted aloof). It was so cringey to watch all of the baristas ignore the line and just keep making drinks without addressing anything (essentially buying time to keep slowly making drinks by telling people in line to wait to slow things down). Anyways, I also ended up literally waiting 10 minutes at the front of the line while they did whatever (aka figure out what each person should do) and then another 20 minutes for the one drink that I ordered (Cocoa Cream Wow) to be made which turned out to be even more terrible. After 1/2 hour of waiting for 1 drink, one of the 5 baristas brought her personal concoction of what she believed to be a "Cocoa Cream Wow" and said that it didn't look like the regular version because she "accidentally" mixed the drink while she was making it... I just took the drink from her (accepting that poor excuse) because it would 100% be a waste of time to ask them to remake it or bother for a refund when the people in the line were already agitated, haha. I took the drink outside and the plastic wasn't even fully sealed so 1/4 of the drink didn't even make it to the short walk to the car lol. I tried the drink ofc and it tasted like watery milk and tapioca juice (since the pearls added to the drink were freshly cooked). Needless to say, it was gross and I literally cannot believe that I paid someone to give me that loooool. I attached a photo of the drink that I got vs the one I was supposed to get (one of the many photos I have of the same drink but just not made by teenagers). Definitely will be going the extra distance to another place for better quality drinks, service and management next time. read more

I'm so glad I found this gem in Modesto. I've been a milk tea lover for so long and this place has definitely become one of my top boba places The staff was really nice and had really good advice. She didn't hesitated to offer us some sample and tried her best find the best drink for us. I tried their new milk tea which was the Thai green milk tea with normal boba. I lovveee it so much. The milk tea was perfect and their boba had the best quality I've ever had before. Definitely recommend people to go here because it's worth it. Will be coming back to try their matcha boba. Always wanting to try new boba places and this was close to work. It's a pretty big boba spot (compared to ones that I have been too). Plenty of seating, spacious, games are available to play, and they have a traditional area where you take off your shoes and sit on mats. The menu is pretty crazy with a lot of options and flavors. It's basic, but I really do recommend the Milk Tea (one of their popular items and it's perfect). The second time around I got Matcha Tea with Matcha flavored boba (didn't even know that existed!) If you're into teas, I'd recommend that too. Overall great place and you get a stamp card for you people who enjoy that type of "loyalty program" stuff. read more

I have frequented this boba spot since it opened up and have never encountered the subpar customer service that I experienced recently. We arrived to the location at 8:30pm and it was pretty busy which was expected as it was a hot evening. We waited in line for about 15 mins and with 8 customers still ahead of us waiting to order the cashier yelled out that they would no longer be making drinks and proceeded to provide the hours for the following day. There were many angered patrons, as they had been waiting in line longer than we had and had to leave without their drinks. At no point when we arrived to the location was there a sign indicating no matter if you were in line or not, that they would stop taking orders at a certain time. Nor was there a staff member at the door turning away customers. This has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and I feel it could have been handled differently. read more
