Winter melon cap. 300% sugar, SO BAD.
Cindy S.

I ordered a winter melon tea cap, with boba. This looked totally different than the picture, I thought there would be a small amount of forged milk at the top, but it looked like there was a ton of sweetened condensed milk at the bottom and at the top. After mixing and taking a sip, I seriously couldn't handle the sweetness. It was overwhelming. It was bad. This is how you get diabetes. Highly do not recommend. This is like melted ice cream, with added sugar syrup, and then extra sugar on top of that. What a waste of $7. Instantly went into the trash

Oolong Milk Tea with Bubbles

A go-to boba spot for me in Cincinnati! The oolong milk tea is a personal favorite. If you have less of a sweet tooth like me then I would recommend opting for less sugar in your drinks (which is usually possible without taking away from the flavor). They have a wonderful selection and everyone there is super kind and always willing to provide help and drink suggestions. Be warned that the "yogurt" drinks are not made with actual yogurt but a japanese probiotic drink called Yakult!

So I was all about the Kung Fu tea this evening as I was running around in the Kenwood location because of work. Normally I try to avoid this area like the plague because it's the most popular mall in all of Cincinnati and traffic is a literal nightmare especially through rush hour. The Kung Fu tea stand is inside the Kenwood Towne center mall. It can be easily accessible from the rear entrance next to the Red Robin restaurant, and theres plenty of parking available at all times. The teas are made with milk and sugar and you can add boba bubbles to them too. I went with the winter Mellon flavor and it was awesome. The bubbles were great and so was the ice. They make your tea special in a tea shaker machine. Love it and will be back.

A blessing in a city lacking in true Asian foodstuff (coming from someone hailing from CA Bay Area). This mall location provided fast and friendly service on a Saturday afternoon, and the tea itself was great. A tad pricier than what I'm used to. But the pearls/boba balls (called "bubbles") were excellent--perfect texture and sweetness. I was very excited to come across a milk tea place, and Kung Fu Tea did not disappoint.

I've tried Kung Fu Tea's Clifton location and enjoyed their signature tea. If you're unfamiliar with the bubble tea craze, it's pretty standard to be able to reduce the sweetness from 100% to 75% to 50% to 25%. It isn't exactly rocket science, but I've always had difficulties titrating the sugar: either it's diabetogenically-sweet or it comes out bitter. Sadly, I skirted the edge toward the latter. My green tea was mildly bitter between boba bumps, despite being the same way I'd order in Clifton. *shrug* Overall my favorite boba in Cincinnati is still Boba Cha in OTR. Regardless, I'm happy to see this bubble tea kiosk at Kenwood Mall.

I have been to a lot of bob a tea place, this one belongs to a famous franchise and it is one of the better places for boba tea. There are many selections, they used to have shaved ice too, but unfortunately they went away from that. It is the only option around Kenwood area, but not a bad one. Since it is located inside Kenwood mall, it is always busy. Don't be surprised if you see a line on weekend days.

This place has been awesome! it is one of the first places I went to when I first moved here and started going to the Kenwood mall. The mall is usually pretty busy in this area, especially since this place is right next to Macy's. They have various teas, smoothies, and coffee to choose from. the only thing that I've tried so far is the tea and I really like it. I've had the Honey tea and the Kung Fu tea; both were very flavorful. I love getting the bubbles added to it. The service is always great and the people are always very nice and quick with getting you your beverage. I will be back again I'm sure!

Noooooope. First of all this location is the worst thing to ever happen. For people that are confused on where this place is - IT'S INSIDE THE ACTUAL MALL. So if you're like "Oh, I heard about that new bubble tea place!" Consider parking in the Kenwood Mall lot, then navigating your way through the vicious pack of mall walkers, and moms with strollers to find yourself at a kiosk style stand, to wait for this product and then do it all again. I don't get milk tea's I get the fruit tea's so I cannot judge on that. So before you light me on fire and stab me with pitchforks continue reading why this place is not-so-great IMO. Judging on the fruit tea's alone I can tell you this place is not my favorite. First of all after asking the ladies working -- they use powders, and fruit "syrups" not fresh fruit. Gross. I hate comparing and usually refrain in reviews but here it is, a great example of quality and the fact the Cincinnati has VERY few bubble tea spots. SO with that being said the "other spot" which I still think is king, Boba Cha, uses REAL fruit - not powders. So much so that she even goes the extra mile to imports unusual fruits from Japan and freezes them in bulk to have enough to last for the season. With the more abundant fruits, you get an actual scoop of fresh fruit in your tea. You are just not going to get that here. I know you might be thinking - "omg Cindy, it's bubble tea. Get over it, it's not supposed to be 100% organic." HOWEVER I think we all take in way too much sugar these days, so I just cannot get on board with fruit syrups and powders with additional pumps of sugar. I am a quality over quantity and I always will be. We had the Lychee tea - was overly sweet and they forgot my Taro bubbles. We also had the one everyone's talking about, the Strawberry Lemonade. Not real strawberries, and the lemonade is very sugary. In conclusion, not impressed. I wouldn't waste your time going through the hassle of the parking lot or the calories (sugar) on these fruit teas. As for the milk ones, I guess you can wade through the reviews and make an informed decision on if you want to tackle the mental breakdown of parking at kenwood to enjoy one of those. *end rant*

KF milk green tea and taro milk green tea with coffee popping boba

I've been in withdrawal since I moved to Ohio and my wishes have been granted and this is the best possible store to open in Cincy, ever (Exaggeration, yes, but I am very excited!) Located right under the Macy's escalator, it's hard to miss and it's easy access from Kenwood road - just park in front of the Macy's mall entrance. Super quick in and out and avoiding the gaggles of shoppers. Menu is pretty extensive, has a lot of variety from teas, milk teas, shaken teas, slushies, coffees, etc. Prices ranges from $3 +, so equivalent to say, a Starbucks drink. My personal favorites are any of the milk teas. I got the oolong tea cap (translation: sea salt oolong). It comes with tea at the bottom, and foam at the top. You shake to mix. Tasted just like home. Woo! Background information: - These drinks tend to be pretty sugary, so ask for less sugar, 50% less sweetness if you think it'll be too much. - classic teas are from steeped Black or Green tea leaves. - The milk teas and slush most likely have powdered creamer added. Ex: Taro Milk Tea is Black Tea + Taro syrup + non-dairy creamer. Slushes have the same formula, but the ice is blended. Some places add liquid creamer for the milk part. I can't tell the difference they taste the same to me. - Milk caps are most likely steeped tea leaves + whipped creamer on top. - Punch is most likely classic tea + a few pumps of flavored fruit syrup. You can always request fewer pumps. - I recommend the popping bubbles! They're super fun to chew on, as they pop when you bite, and you can taste the coffee or other flavoring This most certainly will be my go-to spot from now on. Prices are reasonable, drinks are delicious and very similar to the places in LA and NY, and the biggest pro for me, is how accessible the place is. Other popular places are at Pho Kimmy and inside CAM (farther away in Sharonville), Tea n' Bowl and other places downtown (+$2-3 for a drink because of parking), and the famous Boba Cha that I have yet to try (because I still can't find parking there, and they aren't open when I'm in the area). Here in Cincy, I have learned that I can't simply just go to a bubble tea place, run in, grab a drink and be on my way, but now I can, and I'm very excited! Fun fact: this must be a regional thing, but there's some different terminologies floating around here's a translation for a few Bubbles = boba (those little black chewy tapioca balls in the drink) Nata Jelly = coconut jelly Punch = shaken teas w/ fruit syrup Milk caps = Sea salt foam

Large taro slush & large winter melon milk green tea. Thumbs up!
Tessa X.

Kung Fu Tea comes to Cincinnati! (Better late than never...) Luckily for us, this franchise of the popular New York-based bubble tea chain has finally made its way to Kenwood mall. There are so many options to choose from, but we ordered the taro slush, the winter melon milk green tea, and passionfruit green tea. The large size is only 75 cents more but it will make you REALLY full. I recommend ordering "half" sweet or "less" sweet but that's my personal preference. The classic tapioca "bubbles" that typically are associated with bubble tea were perfectly cooked. Not too hard and not too soft, the texture of the bubbles is perfectly chewy. You can also get other toppings including herbal jelly and popping bubbles (filled with coffee or juice) for 50 cents extra. The only thing I wish KFT would do is allow you to try samples of their flavors like Boba Cha in OTR does. I wanted to try a sample of their seasonal brown sugar ginger tea but they said they would have to make the entire thing, so I just went with the Taro slush instead. For me, Taro always hits the spot. Here's hoping KFT Kenwood will be successful and we'll see more franchise locations popping up around town!

I went around 11 AM when the place wasn't busy, so there was no reason for my bowl to look like it lost a fight. As you can see in the pictures, the ingredients weren't layered correctly--it looked like someone just threw everything in and hoped for the best. The granola? Practically in witness protection. The peanut butter? More like peanut water. The chia seeds? Scattered like confetti at a party I wasn't invited to. The taste didn't help either. Parts of the bowl were still frozen solid, including chunks of açaí and fruit, making it feel more like I was eating a smoothie gone wrong. The ratio of ingredients was all over the place, making it hard to enjoy. Hopefully, this was just an off day, but I left disappointed. Nekter, I believe in you--let's bring back that A-game!
