Very small coffee shop. The staff is really nice and the decor is cute but the drinks we got just weren't good and I didn't like having to put my own lid on especially when there isn't a cute design or anything special about seeing the liquid. Stopped in while waiting for Findlay Market to get rolling for the day and am very glad we did. I've been a fan of Deeper Roots coffee for a while, and I believe I've been to another of their locations, but this was my first time at this one. I got a lavender latte, which was wonderfully made, just the right amount of flavor. The space is clean and bright but oddly shaped, and there's not too much seating. It gets pretty cramped feeling when there is a line of any length as the space is narrow. Still, the back area looking out over a little courtyard area is nice, and I would happily go back for more coffee next time I'm in the area. read more

I was on the search for some good coffee while visiting my grandparents in Cincinnati. I'm spoiled by a local coffee shop on every corner in Sacramento, but they're a bit harder to find here. Luckily, while exploring the Findlay Market Square area we passed by Deeper Roots Coffee and immediately stopped in. It has a small front area where you order with a table up front and then they had a back area as well as an outdoor area that was open for seating. I could see it getting congested up front during peak coffee time, but if customers are awae and courteous they can take a spot at the table or head to the back while they wait. The coffee is ethically sourced and they have a variety of options available. When I visit a coffee shop I like to try a specialty drink, it's always a fun treat. I got the Cherry Cordial Cold Brew ($5) and it was delicious. I'd definitely stop by again! read more

Overall good experience as we waited for the Findlay market to open and grabbed coffee here. A few fun seasonal flavors like the autumn latte were enjoyed. Not the quickest service and while the employees answered all questions they didn't go out of their way to make us (as first timers) feel welcome either. Decent fresh brewed coffee location in OTR. I prefer iced coffee most times. Deeper Roots blends are really good. Convenient location to pop in and get one to go and to walk around Findlay Markey with. Right outside the shop is more seating of the same ilk with equally great background. The spots are even sweeter once you get their coffee. Out of all the big Cincinnati area coffee shops, Deeper Roots is my favorite. I think there are items they do better than others, but I've also had some of the best coffee I've ever had from them. Their lattes are pretty standard for the most part, but the Nitro Cold Brew (always try their seasonal flavor with it) and Cortados are always delicious and a standout. Whenever I bring people in town, I always bring them to Deeper Roots. I've been to several locations now, but I think OTR will always be my favorite because I love Findlay Market. Overall, a solid choice for coffee. read more

The fun part about a new city is discovering its treasures. The smartest way to do that is consulting Yelp. That's exactly what guided me here. Yep, another fabulous coffee stop. This city has a bunch. Good for me, that means more options. The folks at DRC know their beans and can answer most every coffee question thinkable. They are super friendly, too. Since my initial visit, I've talked to my coffee expert friends and family to try and come up questions to really stump these folks. No luck after 3 attempts. Don't mistake that for arrogance. They're just that knowledgeable about their products. I see it's quite popular to grab Deeper Roots on the way into the Findlay market. We now stop just on a whim or when sidelined due to a bad ice storm. Now, it's a well known fact that I'm a sucker for good Ethiopian brew. Theirs is very smooth and very addicting. The flavour stands on its own so much so, that you wouldn't dream to add anything to it. Sip and savor. I wish they had more seating and more parking. We were in the area and decided to stop by here. It's a small coffee shop but very cute. This place is definitely a gab and go there's nowhere inside to sit. You walk in and have to go to the left to order. Then after you order there's a table. They don't call your name just the kind of coffee they made. My order got confused and a lady who was stand me behind in line grabbed my coffee. I ended up getting my coffee and it definitely was really good. The service was good and coffee was good. I actually had their coffee a couple time while in Cincinnati and obviously I liked enough to keep ordering more! The location at Findlay Market is also so cute inside! Customer service was top notch and left every customer with a smile on their face. And- they had Girl Scouts selling cookies outside too- which just made me chuckle. read more

I love trying new, inventive lattes and during my visit to Cincy I picked to visit Deeper Roots. The place not only looks cute but it has interesting lattes. The staff were helpful and fast. I tried the Honey Bear, honey and cinnamon latte, which was subtle and not as sweet as one might expect. I kind of regretted my decision when I saw someone order the Say Hey latte with goats milk caramel that I had overlooked. I ended up getting that one to go for the road. Definitely need to like goats milk to enjoy that one. While more sweet than the Honey Bear, I wouldn't say it had a strong caramel flavor. Wish it had a bit more seating in the space. Thankfully two spots opened up at the communal table up front. We almost got our drinks to go because of the lack of seats. I'd also say I almost gave it 4 stars based on the bathrooms alone. They have two unisex bathrooms and they were equally filthy. If I didn't have a two hour car ride ahead of me, I would have never gone in there. read more

Do note that on a busy Saturday early afternoon finding a seat to sip your coffee can be a challenge. Fortunately there was one seat available and I was able to get it. They have the most impressive set up for automated pour over that always makes a fantastic cup. Recommend trying one of their pour overs. They also have fun specialty drinks that rotate often and are fun to try. The honey bear latte is great. Also have a good assortment of beans, and reasonably priced, to take home. In my quest to becoming the reigning Cincinnati coffee house guru, my journey brought me to Deeper Roots today. I've had their coffee through other vendors before, but my goal was to try a signature drink. I went with the Citrus Rosemary Nitro. Let's not sidestep it: this drink has a super unconventional taste... the nitrogenation makes it bubbly with an orangey bite: quite incomparable to any drink I've had lately. Rosemary in a coffee drink is already a bit bold: so the mix of all these tastes and sensations is a unique, yet pleasant, experience. They have a front and a back room, but not much seating in general. If you can snag a spot it'd be a fun place to study (although not a quiet one). If you're at Findlay Market I'd highly recommend stopping in across the east edge over Race St. P.S. The Findlay Market lot is free for the first hour during weekdays and there is metered parking on Race street directly in front of the building. read more

This sexy little coffee shop recently opened up near Findlay Market and I had the pleasure of popping in during a event work trip in Cincy. The space is slender and goes back further than it appears when you enter. The first room reminded me of Scandinavian architecture with its abundance of natural light and simplistic decor and furniture. The menu is also fairly simple with craft coffee beverages, a few light snacks like jumbo cookies ($3.50) and kombucha on tap. This is one of those businesses that doesn't need a huge menu, they choose to master what they offer rather than dabbling in everything. My only reason for giving this business four stars was that five minutes after we paid for our drinks and snacks and sat down, the barista came out and told us that they were closed. I thought it was odd that she failed to mention they were closing when we ordered our drinks to stay and settled in. read more
