I stopped by Rohs street to grab some coffee and work for a bit. I was surprised by how spacious it was and how many people were there on a saturday afternoon! It seemed like there were a lot of college students also there working. I got a pumpkin spice latte, which was delicious and better than most that I've had, since it tasted less artificial. One of my favorite coffee shops in the city! Rohs is such a nice place to go. The staff is nice and informative, and the environment is very inviting. I decided to check out Rohs Street Cafe as it's very close to me location-wise, and I always love supporting local coffee shops. Upon entry, I was surprised to find that this coffee shop was bigger than I expected! The counter where you order is right as you step in, with a wide variety of drink options to choose from. It also looks like they have a bunch of small bites, as well as pastries. I ordered an iced caramel latte with oat milk to go, but did eye a bunch of the pastries too. All of them looked delicious. While waiting for my drink, I was able to look around for a bit. There is a lot of fun artwork up on the walls, and lots of plants. There are places for people to sit and get work done, next to a lot of windows, so there is plenty of natural light. My drink came out right away, which I appreciated. There were a few people inside the shop, but it was mostly quiet--a perfect spot to come and get work done. I could see this being a great study spot for UC students. Overall, I'll definitely come back here another time. I'm glad I went in! read more

Upon walking in I was pleasantly surprised at the size and the feel of the place. There are plenty of places to sit and work or to just spend some time catching up with a friend. I am visiting Cincinnati for a recruitment event and heard some graduate students mention Rohs, so I decided to check it out. I am absolutely in love! Super nice staff and quick service! Matcha is my fav. Lots of places to sit. Parking can sometimes be tricky. The side rooms are usually quiet enough to actually have a conversation without screaming. The main room can get loud with patrons and music but not so much so that you can't semi-tune it out (perfect level for anyone needing ambient cafe noise while writing, working, or studying). Shop as a great atmosphere. I couldn't finish my beverage because it just wasn't that good and was incredibly sweet. I can usually drink anything with coffee in it, but this was a, "no go." Someone else might like it, but it was just kinda bleh. The person I came with ordered a chai latte and said that it was just ok. Not spicy enough. The bread we ordered to share was also just a solid 3 stars. I kinda regretted walking past a Starbucks to go here. If it wasn't for the amazing ambiance, I would've given it 2 stars. I had a great experience at Roh's Street Cafe! I've been going to UC for almost a year and a half now and had no idea about this hidden Clifton gem. The coffee shop is spacious and filled with extremely friendly staff members. I particularly loved all of the plants hanging around for decoration! I wasn't in the mood for coffee so I ordered a deliciously sweet berry tea which they take the time to steep fresh leaves and serve to you at your table. Our server was so sweet and helped answer all of our questions - including their wifi password! In terms of amenities they also have a printing station and two bathrooms. Rohs was a great atmosphere to work in and while I didn't stay too long this time I will definitely be back to get some work done in the coming weeks when final papers are due. read more

As a Musketeer, I'll admit I was a little intimidated walking into Bearcat territory. Luckily, I wasn't sporting any Xavier gear, so I don't think anyone noticed I wasn't from around here :) Although I was a little confused about the entrance of this coffee shop, I realized it's around the side of the church building on the corner. But once I found the actual entrance, things were great from there on out. Staff was friendly, greeting me at the door and taking my order promptly. Prices were reasonable for a latte, and the latte art was on point. They also serve Deeper Roots coffee which is amazing! I always like supporting local coffee shops as opposed to chains, and I would gladly come back here another day. The decor is simple, with wood tables, metal chairs and a few art pieces on the walls. I only wish there were a few comfy places to sit if you were reading or wanted to relax a little. There is plenty of regular seating though, which I appreciate. There are also big tables and plenty of outlets, great for group meetings or working for a while. Overall, I like this place as a study or working spot. read more

Rohs Street Cafe is a great little spot by UC to get some caffeine and find a place to work. There are lots of tables inside, but they fill up quickly with students. You'll get lots of hipster vibes throughout, but the staff are friendly and the coffee is great (serving deeper roots coffee). The prices here are a bit higher than I would expect, but they make up for it with little touches like the latte art. The space can become a bit overrun with college students, and while it's a large space, sometimes the volume can be a little louder than I would like for a space to get work done. This is still a great spot to enjoy a local gem, get some caffeine, and get stuff done. Make sure you allow for time to park if you're meeting people here, the streets fill up quickly with students parking. read more

I visited one morning for coffee to go. Rohs Street Cafe is located on a side street. I could not find a place to park, and so parked in a spot right out front that was a "No parking" zone. I figured I would be in and out in less than 5 minutes... Ordered a dark roast, coffee was excellent. When I came back outside, a police officer was writing a ticket for the car parked in front of me, I got back to the car just in time, barely 5 minutes had elapsed! Moral of the story - don't park illegally at Rohs Street Cafe - the police are waiting in the bushes for you! read more

I went in late one night for an iced coffee and had an extremely helpful barrista walk me through the options and deal with my stupid questions (I'm new to the whole fancy coffee scene). We spent a Saturday morning here studying. The coffee and matcha were delicious. The tables and spaces available for seating and work were great as well. At times, it does become a bit noisy but nothing some headphones can't tune out. I do wish there were more extension cords/outlets as they were limited and determined where work could be done. I didn't know that Rohs Street Cafe was a non-profit, and only recently learned how it came to be. They grew out of the church it's housed in and now, not only is it one of the best coffeehouses in the city, but it's also a great place to hang out, catch up, share poetry, express yourself, do yoga, do some work, and drink the most incredible coffee there is. I first came to this place when I lived in the Clifton area and after drinking a cafe au lait, I couldn't sleep for 48 hours! No coffee or caffeinated drink has done this to me. To confirm the influence of their caffeine, I tried the same drink about a week later, and sure enough, no sleep, no matter how hard I tried! But no seriously, I just stopped by here for their Monday night community yoga session in their sanctuary next door, and after spending a few hours here, I still love this place after all this time. The space is big, the coffee is great, and the community is amazing. It's sad that they no longer allow dogs in their space, a cool perk, but I guess it's not their fault. It's a lot easier to find parking around this area than the main drag, simply because it's right on the edge, but that's just another plus :) Rohs street also accepts volunteers from around the area for a min of 1 hr a week. It's like having a little barista internship and seems like an awesome way to learn a few tricks of the trade while giving back to the community! read more

This place was my living room for quite awhile during graduate classes; it's the most unpretentious coffee shop I know. My standards for coffee shops: environmentally conscious, good coffee, and accessible electrical outlets. This place has it all. They're all about the Fair Trade coffee, serve your 'for here' coffee in traditional, reusable mugs and glassware, have quite a bit of natural light in the place, and provide friendly, knowledgeable service. I can't tell you the number of days I spent $3.00 on the bottomless coffee and spent the day in this place getting work done, and not feeling like I was being glared at or pushed out. They serve some light pastries/cookies, but also seem to be cool if you carry in your lunch from down the street. They have outlet strips plugged into nearly every outlet, so you're not left clamoring for the tables near the walls. The main room is large and usually has some quite, chill music playing. It can get a little distracting if a group is having a loud conversation, but the atmosphere is chill which has most speaking in respectable tones. There are also smaller rooms to the left when you walk in if you really need some quiet, or if you are looking for a space for your group to meet. I think they host quite a bit of regular groups-bible studies, a CSA, etc. So, if you're looking for a regular group meeting place, this could be it. The tables are large and give you room to spread out. Parking is available-just not in the lot off of Rohs Street just past the entrance; off of McMillan there are a few spots along the building; I usually find a spot on Rohs Street with little worry, but it depends on the academic calendar. Their hours do vary with the academic calendar; so if you're traveling far, or not sure, it doesn't hurt to call. They also host musical acts/shows/poetry events on their stage on the weekends, so beware if that's a deterrent, or enjoy! if it's not. Rohs is one of those places that centers itself on the community. There are a number of weekly events, artwork made by local artists displayed, and always something to do to meet new people. You can't help but love the atmosphere here -- from the friendly customers to the live music. It's one of my favorite places to get work cranked out. There isn't anything stating so, but it seems like the first 2 rooms on the left are more for study and the main room off to the right is more for socializing. I don't even life coffee but I LOVED this place. We went the first day after their remodel and even though we hadn't seen it before, we were impressed. The place has a clean, modern look but is filled with random wooden tables and benches making it comfortable. Their selection of drinks was great too..I don't like coffee or tea but they had suggestions for iced teas to try and I ended up liking what they have. In terms of menu variety they have one of the best I've seen. Its a place you can spend a lot of time working or meeting a friend and not feel claustrophobic or like you're taking up space. LOVE this tucked-away quiet spot for coffee as much as it is for space to journal/study/read. I live in Bellevue, KY, am NOT a student, NOT working on business on the weekends, and i am still a regular here because it's a lovely space for reading & journaling & spending time in your own head. Sure, groups gather here to study but it's generally a group on laptops working on their own so it's generally a quiet, peaceful atmosphere :) The barista is super helpful in recommending teas or coffee & their chocolate chip scone is like a warm hug on a gray day. I only wish they offered more in the food department. Met some friends for Saturday morning coffee here and loved it! They have about 4 parking spots in the back and lots of street parking around the building. It was very quiet when we got there around 10:30 and was noticeably louder and more crowded when we finally left around 12:30. I love that it is so big with lots of tables and chairs and a variety with booths out in the middle of the cafe or tiny tables tucked in the back for whatever type of mood you're in. I got the chilled jasmine peppermint tea and it was delicious. No fancy sweeteners just the tea which I was craving this morning. I also got one of the bran espresso muffins which to my surprise had just come out of the oven and were still warm and totally delicious. Tea and muffin came to about $6 with a tip and It was well worth it. I'm definitely coming back here when I need a place to study or meet with classmates off campus. read more

I've been on a cafe kick recently. I blame my distracting kitty cat and summer classes. I've stopped by here a couple of times for group meetings and its so close to campus. First off, this is the ultimate group meeting space as they have several huge tables and a couple of closed-offish spaces. But they have a really nice atmosphere for self study and even with the potential for group meetings Rohs never seems too loud. The staff is super helpful, but their cappuccino was a little disappointing (and a big reason for 4 stars) however, I tried one of their blueberry teas and it was spot on! read more
