"Green over Blue"- the flavors really worked well together & the toasted Marshmellow cream was to die for
    Sara P.

We had a short vacation in the Newport-Covington area around the July 4th holiday and I was excited to see that Analog was open. We did not have a reservation for the bar, but were still able to be seated by a friendly barista (as long as we could exit by the next reservation). During our visit, Analog was featuring beautiful art-inspired creations. We ordered the Mondrian (raspberry, blueberry, and lemon flavors) and Rothko (toasted marshmallow, blueberry jam, and mint) espresso drinks. The combination of ingredients in each drink was perfect; really well balanced, and the ingredients all served a purpose (not just there for visual impact). I especially loved the toasted marshmallow cloud on my Rothko drink, how it melted into the espresso. We also ordered the shortbread trio to snack on, which was a great deal (3 little buttery shortbread cookies for only $3 ). It was fun to watch the barista assemble all of the super-neat art menu options; like watching a scientist or mixologist perform magic. Analog is just a smaller, 6-seat concept bar inside the larger Carabello Coffee shop, but worth the visit for a one-of-a-kind espresso experience. The greater Carabello space was super busy when we visited, and also had some interesting food and drink available if you wanted to explore more after your Analog reservation expires.

We made a reservation and did the coffee bar tour. Shane was awesome! Was very knowledgeable about coffee and the ingredients. Talked about the drinks and how often they switch them out and where the coffee comes from! I suggest booking with him for this feature! Get there early if you are not making a reservation. There will be a line!

Our 4th menu switch up & we love the refresh every time! This month (April) features Cincinnati themed drinks. Highly recommend a stop, but note you do need to make a reservation for the tasting experience!

Analog coffee bar is a wonderful experience full of surprises and delight! Jason, the barista, aka coffee magician was so joyful and knowledgeable that everyone was all smiles even before tasting the coffee. I tried Opa's Pfeffernusse Cap and it was indeed one of the best cappuccinos I have ever tasted! I understood the true meaning of analog because after my first sip, I had to ignore my work for a moment to just sit and ponder the flavors. The aroma of the citrus and star anise set this drink apart from the ordinary. The menu changes seasonally and I cannot wait to go back and try another creation!

I visited twice during the same 6-week menu and tried two different drinks, both were so amazing! First was the Raf with fig and pepper, served warm, and the second is foamo, served cold. They also have a couple of mocktails on the menu, with coffee being the underlying ingredient. The staff is wonderful and the experience of sitting at the bar is entertaining and fun! I can't wait to see the future menus!

Looking for something different? Something that slows time, and makes you think? Want that experience to include coffee? Want to experience it in a way that rivals the rest? Check out Analog Coffee Slow Bar. Whatever is ordered, the experience is a moment in time you will want to savor. At least a drink that you will want to savor will be created. Drinks are complex. Their creations are part consumable, part art, and part performance art. Flavors are more than a mear blip on a menu board. Flavors are explained in a way that takes one back to old memories, all the while helping to create new ones. Flavors are rich. These are drinks to sip and enjoy. It is part coffee bar part mixology. Even when ordering from their menu, drinks may be customized. Those crafting the drinks are understanding of allergies and food intolerances. They are even understanding of dislikes. Analog is not practical for the everyday coffee. It is a special moment. If looking for an experience to share on a date, or with out of town guests Analog is a lovely choice.

This is the BEST and GREATEST coffee experience I have EVER had. I didn't think i would have been able to have such a unique experience. First, you approach the coffee shop like a bar. You sit down on this lovely high top chairs and you get a menu. Sean, the creator and manager of some of the items on the menu was an exceptional host NOT ONLY to the service but to the PRESENTATION. He was so thorough in explaining about the beans, the process, his interest in coffee. I enjoyed a couple of things from there, one was the Heater which was PERFECT for the winter weather, with a bit of a cinnamon kick and was just perfect for warmth. Then i had a lovely double espresso shot. He also offered us chocolate from Iceland and it was delicious, so i had to buy a bar. This is a well kept secret, but not for LONG! :) Thanks for reading, go find that perfect taste! :)

I've always envied the people enjoying the fancy coffee drinks at the Analog Bar. I'm a regular at Carabello, but often, I'm just visiting to sit down and crank out some work. When I had a friend in town, I decided to head into The Analog Bar and sample some drinks. Austin, the manager of Analog is a master of his craft and a true delight of a human. He made some great drink recommendations. The "Cold Fashioned" is one of my favorite drinks there. We also shared a syrian cappuccino which was delicious. I love the Analog is meant for you to actually sit back, enjoy the coffee, and actually slow down and smell the roses (or at least the coffee). Whenever life allows me to next, I'll definitely come back to Analog to enjoy some more fancy coffee drinks.

Wow what a fun experience! Shawn, the bar manager, was great! All the drinks we got were super tasty. I particularly loved the Winters Eve. The coffee punch was very unique and tasty as well. I'd definitely recommend this place for those who enjoy coffee but I get also have lots of non-coffee drinks that were great.

If you're looking for an intimate and educational coffee bar setting this is your place to go! The baristas are experts in crafting coffee mock tails that will blow your mind! I recommend getting a reservation on their website due to limit seating at the bar!

Slow your roll and swing by this artisanal coffee experience. We had no idea what to expect as we didn't read reviews or really check their website/facebook. A rare blank slate experience. So when we first showed up, there were already people at the bar and there was no room for us. Ok. No worries. We bided our time in the regular Carabello area with a small latte. Once the crowd cleared, we temporarily had the coffee bar to ourselves. I don't think this happens often. We spoke with the wizard barista Austin about our coffee preferences, which honestly, are quite open, and he poured a very unique and almost odd coffee that was tea like and smooth as silk. Prices are reasonable and average. Heck, you probably spent more at $tarbucks for average coffee. Austin really really knows coffee so I would think that he could craft a drink perfect for any palate. This whole experience is not for those in a hurry. I mean, HELLO, it has slow in the name. This part of Carabello is for those that really want to savor and enjoy their beverage in an almost nerd hive of coffee connoisseurs. Yeah, feel free to take a photo or two of your drink for the 'gram or whatever social media is your fancy, but make it quick. The analog part of the name is almost a plea for people to put away their screens and freaking enjoy human interaction and conversation. A rarity these days for sure, and I am guilty of burying my head in a screen too. So thank you Carabello/Analog for providing a new coffee experience. I look forward to future caffeinated adventures.

It is a paradise for coffee lovers like me! Coffee bar where you can sit and order an extravagant caffeine-based seasonal rotating concoction and/or get to interact with a serious pro barista. Anything about coffee you always wanted to know and were afraid to ask? Come this way and get your answers!! The Analog slow bar is a very spacious and fresh addition to the locally beloved Carabello and offers the one on one interaction with a very appreciated knowledgeable barista. I booked a seat online and came expecting something like a short lecture and a demo, but it was actually much better and more personal. Austin was the Barista On Duty :) and it was a real pleasure to observe him making some seriously impressive latte art on cortado with donut-soaked milk. Per his recommendation, my husband and I tried one blend of coffee extracted 2 different ways. Mind blowing! The aroma, taste, body was so different! And it was just extremely cool to see the glass percolator they utilize, almost like an alchemy class. We also enjoyed a different blend of coffee extracted with aeropress, that I have been eyeing for a long time. The coffee was delicious, had some wine notes and made me wanna immediately buy the aeropress for work. Apart from getting a rare blend of specialty coffee, you can also order a special rotating drink. The October's special was a cortado made with donut-soaked milk or an old fashioned cocktail where alcohol is substituted for cold brew. So inventive! Overall, not an everyday thing, but a very very special affordable treat. So amazing and well supplementing the 'standard' Carabello experience. Highly recommended!

    Such a cute coffee bar

Analog Coffee Slow Bar in Carabello was probably the single most enjoyable coffee experience I've ever had in my life. It's going to be really hard for me to overstate how much fun I had at the slow bar, but it's the truth. I'm telling all my friends, and now I'm telling you Yelp...If you like coffee at all, and want to learn more and have the most delicious espresso drinks in town, get here ASAFP! The slow bar is the only one of its kind in the Cincinnati area...I think you would probably have to go to NYC or Chicago to find something similar. Basically there are only 6 seats, and you sit in front of a master barista as they teach you about the different beans, roasts, brewing techniques, and espresso drinks that they can make. I would equate it to sitting at the chef's table in a restaurant...But your chef is a barista! I made a reservation online using Carabello's website for Saturday afternoon, but the lovely couple sitting next to us just walked in and sat down, so I don't think reservations are necessary all the time (maybe make one just to be safe though). Everything on the menu sounds delicious, but my number one piece of advice is to get the Baristas Choice 3 course tasting experience ($12.50 for one person, $20 for two people). We got the tasting course for two people and split it. You get two brewed coffees and two espresso drinks, plus a dessert (we chose the honey vinegar pie from O Pie O because DUH). For $20 that is a downright steal! I don't want this review to be 100 pages long, but a few things to consider: Think about trying different brew methods than you've seen before in the past (most coffee shops do their pour overs with a Chemex...Maybe try the Siphon method!). Also, their signature drinks are to die for! We got the Chai This! latte which was the best chai latte I've ever had. Our barista, Austin, was amazing and super friendly and patiently answered all of our questions. We spent an hour and a half here, but I could have just stayed all afternoon! Highly recommend for a unique date idea or just a fun afternoon activity with your coffee snob friends.

Okay, I understand the hype! Bourbon House Pizza does Chicago deep dish pizza perfectly. My husband…read moreand I split one of the supreme pizzas and got Italian sausage and mushrooms in it. It was honestly so delicious, and oddly enough was even better reheated the next day! (Reheated great in a toaster oven) It also came out quicker than I expected. (With it being Chicago deep dish, I was prepared to wait!) We also got their appetizer sampler. The items were good, but the pizza balls definitely stood out! The dough was so fantastic and clearly homemade. It was perfectly buttery and flaky, yet firm structural. The sauce was also delicious. A must: pairing everythingggg with their house made ranch. My brother got a steak hoagie and was pretty disappointed when a small sandwich with a meat patty and a side of potato chips is what came out. It just didn't match the caliber of the pizza at all. We also got to Italian sub style hoagies, and those were both small and underwhelming as well. The dining room had a bit of a disheveled feel but I couldn't quite put my finger on what was off. The servers were attentive and kind. We parked at the Levee and walked over. Overall synopsis: I actually can't wait to get pizza here again!!!

We stopped in before a show at Southgate House. It was a Friday and we made reservations for 5:30…read more Reservations at this time were not needed; it was not crowded. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. They have outside seating, which could be nice in the right weather, though the area is just feet from the main drag. Our server was fine. I have no real recollection of them. We ordered a deep dish, looking to find a pizza as good as Zachary's in California. Bourbon House Pizza is not as good as Zachary's, but it is the best deep dish pizza we've tried in the Cincinnati area since we've been back in Cincinnati since 2021. We made our own pizza in an attempt to match our favorite - spinach and mushrooms. It was good. I enjoyed the sauce on top. Under the sauce, the cheese was very thick making the overall taste of the pizza very cheesy. We had a similarly cheese deep dish in Chicago. Our pizza at Bourbon House was better. I will say the crust is thick. I would have eaten the crust if there had only been two pieces per person. Since I was faced with potentially eating four pieces, I opted to skip the crust. One of our group asked if she could order from the kid's menu. The server had no issue with the request. Oddly enough, her meal was huge! We were all surprised it was a kid's meal. Our fourth ordered a small pizza. It looked like it had pineapple on it. I didn't ask how it was, but he ate every bite. It must have been a small and it was the perfect single serving size. Oh... we ordered a medium deep dish. It was eight pieces and was too much for two people. Because we were going to a show after dinner, we didn't box up the leftover two pieces. This size pizza would be great for four people to share. We will continue to look for great deep dish pizza, but we definitely found a good one at Bourbon House Pizza.
