I started parking and walking to my downtown office in the morning and this day I decided to make Black Coffee my stop for morning fuel. I decided on the Purple Haze and chai muffin because they both caught my eye at the front counter. The Barista was kind and mindful, asking me for the correct spelling of my name as he took my order (bonus points for that). It wasn't a long wait for my order because I don't believe the regular morning crowd had arrived just yet. As I left and took that first sip...mmm mmm, I was blown away. Now I know some will say it's just coffee, but I will argue and say it's more than that. None of the ingredients were overpowering each other, and the taste of coffee itself wasn't overly present. It was just what I needed that morning. After I reached my office, before I dove into that heavenly muffin, I snapped a picture (sorry the drink was just too good). I enjoyed the chai in the muffin and am glad that small bites have been added to the menu to pair with the drinks. Black Coffee will be on my list to try other things on the menu as I start my new morning routine this summer walking to the office. I coffee shops if you can't tell if you follow my adventures. This one doesn't disappoint. I'm always looking for a cozy place to work from most of the time. This place fits that. Super nice staff and great vibes. Four stars for me because im not much for coffee flavor itself the other stuff in it is what makes me happy like white chocolate mochas. Caramel lattes etc....the flavor just wasn't there for my caramel latte, it was bitter with lack of the caramel flavor. Short & sweet review to highlight the many wonderful things about this coffee shop. The location is great, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the coffee is made with care. It's pretty easy to find street parking nearby, since this shop is on the corner of Elm and Ninth. I stopped here to work remotely for a few hours on a Thursday, and I would definitely come here regularly. There was smooth R&B playing, which totally amplifies the creative, community vibe this place has. I love the wall mural and the decorative art that highlight Black culture. The prices are also right on ... I ordered a "Woah Latte" and a bagel with cream cheese, and spent about $10. The barista was extremely thorough, asking what type of milk I preferred, and how to spell my name. I also love that they feature desserts from Sweet Petit! This was my first time checking out black coffee lounge and it was such a cool and unique experience! The service was exceptional as everyone I had encountered was very endearing and polite. It gave off such chill vibes as music played throughout the building and the workers were singing, dancing, and having a good time all while keeping up on their orders. There are some very intriguing art pieces on the walls to look at too! I ordered a swirl latte which was steamed milk with caramel and dark chocolate and I added oat milk to mine. It was very delicious and the perfect temperature! I also had a chocolate muffin which was delicious and the opposite of dry for those who hate the "m" word 10/10 recommend checking this place out if you're in the area! read more

Needed to warm up and get a caffeine fix after a cold wait in line for sneakers. I had seen Black Coffee Lounge features on the Yelp Cincy Instagram page and knew I wanted to give them a try. This would be the perfect place to sit, work, and ppl watch while just taking in the vibe. There's tables to be productive and couches to chill. There's definitely a hip hop vibe throughout the whole shop, from the "It Was All A Bean" sign in the window to the music playing. I am a sucker for a lavender latte and theirs is definitely top 5. I stopped in today to pick up an Iced Coffee. I noticed all the yummy looking pastries and cookies in the display case on the counter and decided on a Red Velvet Cookie. My husband resisted the treats but ordered an Espresso. My iced coffee was blended perfectly. Rich, creamy and sweet, but not cloyingly so. It was absolutely delicious! My husband enjoyed his espresso too. They use La Terza coffee, which is excellent coffee and a favorite of ours. They sell it here by the bag also. They adhere to all pandemic protocols and there is plenty of parking nearby. We will definitely stop in again for more great coffee! read more

I am so glad I finally got to try this place! I just stopped in to grab an afternoon pick-me-up included in the yelp elite event and it was great! The staff were super friendly, greeted me right as I walked in and took my order. She was very quick to give me the milk options for my swirl latte, including their non-dairy options. The swirl latte is amazing, Carmel and dark chocolate, not too sweet with wonderful flavor. They also had some really yummy looking bakery options, I can't wait to go back and try more menu items. I'd definitely recommend stopping in and supporting this locally owned coffee shop! The place is super cool, once the pandemic has calmed down this would be an awesome place to meet friends and hang out, I love the art work on the walls and the overall vibe, I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

Love this addition to Cincy! The environment is so friendly and comfortable. The employees are extremely friendly and personable. It makes the visit so much better. This shop is amazing! Such a cute vibe and the employees are great and make some amazing coffee! I was debating between a few lattes and the barista recommended the gingerbread latte and it was AWESOME! So fragrant and tasty, definitely recommending all my friends go here. Also got the veggie quiche which the barista recommended to get toasted and it was fantastic! So tasty with a little crispy crunch. The establishment takes safety seriously and had appropriate precautions in place to help prevent the spread of Covid. I had the whoa latte, it was delicious! It was creamy, not overly hot, and had a great warming sensation...perfect for the cold winter day. I look forward to coming back soon. The only thing preventing a 5* is that the coffee is more expensive than I anticipated. This may be due to its location being in down town Cincinnati. Black Coffee Lounge is near my work, and while I'm not a daily coffee drinker, there are moments when I have cravings for an iced latte or something. Everytime I am here, I do wish I had the money and the ability to be a daily coffee drinker because this place is incredible. Let's start with the folks there. They are the friendliest and have found that they always find a way to make me laugh. Even when the technology is down, they are so accommodating and ensuring that you have a good time in the space. The space itself is just right. The vibes are always phenom! Great music, awesome artwork, and a good view with so much natural light coming in. The drinks have never disappointed me, which is always a plus for me. It was such a surprise to find that they also have food. Black Coffee is stellar! It's been on my list of must-tries for well over a year, and this morning I finally had a chance to stop in. I tried the pumpkin latte with oat milk and it was amazingly creamy, spiced, and rich. This doesn't have the over the top sweet flavor that plagues a lot of other PSLs. The pumpkin flavor comes right through and it really takes like fall, and more importantly, coffee. The atmosphere is wonderful and the service is great as well. I'm forever and always looking for Black owned businesses to support, which is how we initially ended up here... BUT we are 100% coming back because the coffee and treats were top-notch! First of all, the service was incredible. The ladies working greeted us warmly and walked us through their popular menu options as well as their fall menu. I wish I could've gotten it all!! We both ended up getting the WOAH! (caramel + vanilla latte) and that drink is worthy of its name. I'm already looking forward to grabbing another soon! Speaking of getting another, make sure that if you get their pumpkin muffin, you get two. They're big... but they're so good you'll want seconds! I can't believe it's vegan! COVID: They've got a great system going. Masks must be worn. You walk in and are immediately at a table at least 6ft away from the baristas. They take your order and have contactless payment. Cute little storefront on the outskirts of downtown Cincinnati. I was feeling so lucky because parking was available. right in front of the store. Folks working here are super nice. The atmosphere reminded me of a dance club and museum combined. I'd call it 'cultural' as in related to arts and intellectual achievements. They chatted with me and a couple other customers while they made our coffees and lattes. The drink and cupcake I got were deeeee..... wait for it... liciius! The swirl latte was my drink of choice, I am a lover of caramel and dark chocolate. I picked up the vegan chai latte muffin for the lovely Mrs and it was so rich, moist(yep I said the word that everybody hates) and tasty. I've been here a number of times, both for quick takeout and to meet friends for drinks. I've never once not had a super comfortable, friendly experience - the staff and the quality of drinks are both top notch. What I found out from the event is that the cookies are too. I enjoy meeting in this space and it has become a regular spot for me as a remote worker. They have a stamp card that they just started as well so plan to use that. Small but cozy environment. I love the chai muffin and tea. Not a huge coffer drinker but good tea selections. I also love love love those red velvet cookies, not sure if that is the official name. They are the treats that get you in trouble. The staff I have met has been friendly. There is a steady flow so don't have a real opportunity to engage them. Overall good customer service. Yep. Yes. Okay! A new coffee shop coming to the downtown area is definitely serving up some tasty treats. I tried a few different items today and will definitely be back. The red velvet cookie and the oatmeal cookie are both outstanding. Incredibly soft and delicate little cookie sammiches with creme in the middle that makes you want to climb into the treat case and snuggle all the cookie friends. The kona house blend is a nice bold flavor. Definitely for the dark roast fans, bit not bitter or burned, more heavy flavor which I like. A little half and half and call it a day. However, the chocolate peppermint latte is where my devotion lives. That puppy is chock full of flavor in all the best ways. It's like a peppermint patty and a fancy chocolate bar were like "let's start a family." And I am here for it. They also had a sneak peak of ice cream. @Sunny Blu mixed their house blend with vanilla ice cream and it is subtle and delish. I can't wait until this place reopens for regular service because the ambiance is so inviting. It's a bit small, but you can usually find a seat. There's always something artistic happening, be it spoken word or an abstract painting being created in front of you. I just had the regular house coffee and it was really good, but I can't wait to try one of the craft drinks. The food menu looked good too with vegan options also. Ok Wow. This place is so cool! This was my first time actually inside, the first time I was too late and it was closed. The decor is effortlessly perfect, and the staff was really nice and accommodating. I'm lactose intolerant, and they let me change my provided option without hesitation. I just moved to NKY and a friend used Uber Eats to deliver coffee and breakfast to me. It was packaged perfectly for delivery.
