My ZqPeppermint mocha (it's the holiday season!) was very tasty and daughter's iced matcha latte was excellent; both aesthetically presented. It was a late morning visit and we snagged the last pastry, a delicious coffee cake slice from Allez bakery. The space is modern/vintage and our server was fantastic. Have been wanting to check this place out for some time now. We came just for drinks after dinner. They have light bites for brunch and then have a small menu of items for dinner but the dishes all sound amazing so I need to find a time to come back and try that. The atmosphere is very date night and chill. The set up is unique with the decor and family style booths with some tables in the back for private parties. Definitely upscale vibes and felt like I was in a big city bar like Chicago or New York. The bartenders here are super friendly and attentive. We got served right away and he had some great suggestions. I got the Hat Trick and then the Fractured Fruit Highball Option 1 which was more botanical. The Hat Trick was his suggestion after telling him I love gin and unique flavors. This one has a yogurt base, chili flavors and cardamon which I have never had in a drink. It did not disappoint and I could sip this all night long (if it wasn't so expensive per drink). I get the amount of TLC that goes into the drink so def worth the treat but couldn't spend more than an hour or 2 here because of it unfortunately. I always come here thinking my experience will be better than before but it's always about the same. Don't get me wrong they do have some great drinks but it feels like they take your order, forget you're there and then you get your drink 20mins later. If you're stopping in to get a drink before heading to a show or dinner I wouldn't count on fast efficient service. It's always a friendly vibe inside and there's always a ton of people but even when I came in with only 2 other people there it took 15mins to get my drink. The drink is always great but the price of my drink feels a bit steep for the small drink I receive. We live nearby and honestly don't go to King Pigeon enough. We finally made it back after their grand opening about a year ago and caught the tail end of Happy Hour before their Wednesday night jazz. The Pigeon in Pigalle was fresh and tart, with layered flavors from the tequila, cacao, lime, and bitters. The Fractured Fruit Highball was sweet, summery, and super refreshing, with a light kick from the Sichuan peppercorn foam. The setup for jazz makes you feel like you're in the front row for the performance, definitely immersive. We'll definitely be back more often. read more

Popped in before dinner for drinks on Friday night. Parked right out front of the spot and breezed in. After being warmly greeted by the host, we parked at the bar. The place is beautiful. Love the design choices and the blue notes. A big table carved into the back wall looks great for a group. The drinks take awhile for the staff to make, so prepare yourself. However the wait is definitely worth it. Loved every drink we had. The French 75 was light and crisp. The Peardon my French was tasty and not overly sweet. I'm not a huge rum person but would highly recommend the hibernation sour. The bit of salt and spice was fantastic. Can't wait to come back. "Good Vibes" is posted outside their window, and all I can say is, they live up to their motto. Stopped by this morning for a warm drink/food with the frigid air and snow outside. And boy did they absolutely deliver. The space you walk into is modern, colorful, and inviting. Plenty of seating for groups, dates, or solo. Their drink menu is displayed prominently along the back wall. You order at the counter which becomes a cocktail bar in the evening. I was welcomed with a smile and an explanation of their food offerings. I opted for the chai and northern Thai breakfast sandwich. The chai was delicious -- fragrant and smooth, the spiced powder to finish added a welcome savory note. Now for the breakfast sandwich -- the flavors on this thing are absolutely incredible. The Sai Ua patty with Thai spices and lemongrass provided depth of flavor and just enough heat. The crispy shallots and perfectly fried egg with runny yolk, all on top of Allez bread.. literal perfection. Only wish it came with the other half of the sandwich because I would absolutely devour the whole thing. All in all, I was very impressed by King Pigeon. What a nice surprise to walk into. Cool atmosphere, open yet still somehow cozy. The staff was professional and welcoming (seems a rare skillset these days). Although they do have an extensive menu of interesting cocktails, the bartender was accommodating to our particular desires, and provided really nice cocktails at a very reasonable price. We did not try any of the food, but the very limited menu looked well suited to enjoying a leisurely cocktail and spending a bit of time. The music we came to see included bass player Justin Dawson on bass, Brandon Scott Coleman on guitar, and Josiah Wolf on the drums. Perfectly hip jazz that was complimented the space, and was listenable without being demanding at all. We're looking forward to stopping in when they play in the future. read more

Visited on a Wednesday night at 6:30 PM - the place was ~670% full and we had made a reservation to be safe, but it would not have been needed. We sat at a high-top in the back of the space which allowed us to take everything in. All the decor is simple, but stylish. They restored as much of the original ornate ceiling as possible which was great to see. Sitting a table we had servers come to us which was a nice touch and they provided us water immediately which was greatly appreciated - for drinks we opted for the Bright Sun (Non-Alcoholic) which was very flavorful and the aquafaba was a fun touch; the Abi Road which was PACKED with flavor; along with the Umami Old Fashioned and Brooklyn which my partner said were both great whiskey/bourbon cocktails as well. Overall we thought that each cocktail was worth the $12-$14 price due to presentation and taste. We did not expect for there to be food options based on our research online, but they did have a small snacking menu, along with beer/wine menus that were not posted on their website. We opted for the carrot dish ($13) that came with labneh and sprinkled with pistachios and various seasonings like thyme and sesame seeds. We were pleasantly surprised with how flavorful and beautifully presented this was as well. The King Pigeon artwork/logo and menu alone are something worth coming to see and read if you want a quick chuckle, and the cocktails are definitely worth staying for - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. It was nice being able to hang out at the bar while I enjoyed my americano, but all the other spots looked nice for conversations. The night we came the sandwhich was off the menu and the other 3 offerings were carb based sides. If you need protein to drink, go to Gomez across the street first:) I ordered the hibernation fizz. The coffee was phenomenal and as good as it was I have to say the stand out for me was the breakfast sammies. I got the Northern Thai sandwich and haven't been able to stop thinking about it. My wife got the regular breakfast sandwich and it was also really flippin' good. The building feels large and spacious but the register set up was a wee bit confusing. So far so good! I just popped in for a quick coffee before meeting a friend... the hours posted on Yelp have since been updated. But there is a transition time between day time and evening service. At the risk of sounding like a total mess, I don't really know what the situation is here in terms of when which menu starts/when they are closed or just doing limited options or if I'm committing a faux pas by being here at 3:30p? I don't know, I'm sorry, don't be mad at me. That said, the drip coffee is delicious and the rumor is they serve bread from Allez - which is my absolute love language. Allez rocks. The space itself is fun with light wood punctuated by dark blue and gold furniture and a camel colored booth along one wall. As per the norm in this neighborhood, the ceiling is vaulted and accented with tin (a total plus in my opinion). As they get popular, they might want to consider adding some sort of entryway drape/divider/etc bc whenever the door opens it lets in a big burst of air. Also, word of caution: Cincinnati Parking Enforcement is alllll over these streets so don't even consider a parking infraction or even venturing here with expired tags. You will be ticketed! Updated: they do the morning menu from open until 2ish and then dinner menu starts at 5 and goes until 10ish. Then Sunday only they have brunch. Menu subject to change. read more
