After attending an event at Hotel Celare, I stopped by Iris Café for a bite to eat and was…read morepleasantly surprised to discover that the restaurant is every bit as stunning as the event space--if not more so. The atmosphere feels elegant and inviting, creating a true upscale dining experience from the moment you arrive. The espresso martini was exceptional. The subtle hint of orange added just the right amount of brightness and brought the entire cocktail together beautifully. We were excited by the menu and ended up sampling several dishes: * Bread & Butter Service: A wonderful start to the meal. The presentation was beautiful, and they serve bread from Sixteen Bricks, one of Cincinnati's best local bakeries. Absolutely delicious. * Battered Cauliflower: The portion was generous, and the honey buffalo sauce was downright addictive. I fully intended to save some for later, but it never made it into a to-go box. * Short Rib Baguette: Served with a large portion of fries that were perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The short rib was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, and the fries were impossible to stop eating. * Filet: Perfectly seasoned and topped with a rich garlic reduction that complemented the steak beautifully. The mashed potatoes were especially memorable--creamy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. * Dessert: We ordered both the PB&J peanut butter pie and the Fruity Pebbles cake. Both were creative and delicious. The cake had fantastic frosting, but the peanut butter pie was the star for me--rich, decadent, and absolutely worth ordering. The portions are generous enough to share, though I was happy to take some home. Even the details impressed me. The restrooms were immaculate and beautifully designed, and every member of the staff--from the restaurant to the hotel--was warm, welcoming, and eager to help. From arrival to departure, Iris Café delivered the kind of thoughtful hospitality and elevated dining experience that leaves you already looking forward to your next visit. Highly recommended.

The salmon and burger were yummy and the service was so warm and nice. For breakfast the eckerlin sausage omelet was literally melting in my mouth and the ambience was very relaxing and peaceful to start the new year.

We stopped in here for burger week and OOOOMMMMMGGGGGEEEEE this is definitely the place to be! From…read morethe service to the burger my experience here was amazing! Let me tell you about our server: -He had a great personality, was extremely personable and made us feel right at home, gave us great menu recommendations, gave us coupons to come back and was just simply great. I regret I don't remember his name (blame it on my age) but, I won't forget his face and will be requesting him the next time we go back. All servers could take a lesson out of his playbook because good service is hard to come by these days! Good servers is not the norm theses days but, our server was awesome! The food: The sever started us off with sweet & spicy pickles. I didn't really know what to expect but, the sweet & salty with the tangy with crunch is great combination. I enjoyed it so much that I've already begun looking online to see where I can get them from lol. Uncle Woody's Ragin Cajun was delicious and a great choice if you want to try something different from your traditional burgers. The bun was super light/fluffy and the perfect pairing the seasoned burger, onions, mushrooms and Cajun aioli. Hubby said the the Patty Melt was good but, would order grilled onions with it next time. So yeah.... go check it out if your in the mood for a burger. I'm going to go back for brunch next time.

Service was great and you can definitely get your money's worth with the bottomless drinks. I ordered the Captain's Skillet and you get to choose how you like your eggs. I got them scrambled and it was a pretty hearty meal! My friend ordered a vegan burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was okay, but the fries were great. They close at 4pm, but everyone had left around 3pm. I would recommend this place for bottomless brunch since it's a great deal!

I used to love coming here in college. Back then, they were pushy about coming by frequently to ask…read moreif you wanted to order anything else. When asked kindly, I would happily oblige as I was grateful to have a place open late enough for me to get my work done. Unfortunately, things have changed for the worse. Now, we were asked to leave if we didn't make another purchase despite the fact that we were not even done with our first drinks. As many other reviews have stated, we were berated by the worker about tipping because he told us he only makes $3 an hour. Having worked as a barista myself and knowing many others, I have never known a place to pay baristas (or bartenders) a server's wage rather than minimum wage. Even still, as of 2026 in Ohio the minimum server wage is $5.50. Most likely the worker was lying, but the owner Shawn Brooks should be ashamed of himself and investigated by the U.S. Department of Labor. Also, the worker added extra charges to our bill which is so slimey. For all the complaining about not being able to stay in business if people don't buy multiple items, you will not be able to stay in business if you scare all your customers away. I will never patronize this business again.

If you love BBQ, prepare your taste buds for the kind of joyride they've been praying for --…read morebecause Sweets & Meats BBQ delivers some of the best barbecue in Cincinnati, possibly anywhere. From the moment the aroma hit the table to the last bite, this meal was nothing short of legendary. Let's start with the pulled pork -- outstanding doesn't even begin to describe it. Perfectly smoky, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor, it was the kind of meat that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate what's happening. Juicy, rich, and done exactly right. And the sides didn't just show up as an afterthought -- they completed the meal. The greens were deeply flavorful and cooked to perfection, and the mac and cheese was pure comfort food excellence: creamy, cheesy, and impossible to stop eating. Now... the wings. These are the kind of wings you'd happily drive across town for -- crispy, meaty, and bold in flavor. Absolutely worth the trip all on their own. And then there's the brisket. I'll just say this: ridiculous. Smoky, juicy, beautifully seasoned, and so tender it barely needed a knife. One bite was enough to reset my expectations for what great brisket should be. Everything here tastes like it was made with care, patience, and real BBQ passion. If you're even remotely serious about barbecue, this place needs to be on your list. I'll be back -- and bringing friends next time.

The other day, I happened to notice they had posted about a corporate client cancelling a big order at the last minute and asking for help selling the catering order. I needed to go run an errand near the location anyway so it seemed like fate. And I will not wait around on Sweets & Meats again because this food is legit. I got the pulled pork sandwich combo, which comes with two sides (and they have like eight different sides - I love variety!). I appreciated that my to-go order had the meat and sauce separate from the bun so I could assemble at home and not have a bunch of pork and bread mush instead of a sandwich. The pork was delicious - it didn't NEED sauce but the sauce was so good I had to throw some on there. The collards were delicious (they can go so wrong so easily). But the mac & cheese was the star. I immediately started telling people "you need this mac & cheese in your life, you're welcome." Their little spot underneath Children's Hospital is modest but cute and clean. Service was friendly and they gave me my cornbread (oh, the cornbread - I almost forgot! Also delicious) for free because they accidentally gave my very similar order to the wrong person (we ordered the same meal, I just added cornbread). They were actually in the weeds a bit because their call to action was successful - the phone was ringing off the hook and I got there in time to beat the crowd. Take-out or dine-in, Sweets & Meats is worth the visit. Get the mac & cheese! I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.
