There's something about coffee and meaningful connections that captures the heart of a place, and Rohs street Café did exactly that! Just a few minutes' walk from my hotel, this café was the perfect morning find. The minimalist design and warm wood tones create a clean, inviting space that highlights the charm of the old architecture. The bookshelves, comfy seating, and local art add such character--it's the kind of place where you can relax, study, or just enjoy the buzz of community. The menu is impressively diverse, offering bold flavors and creative options. I absolutely loved that they serve coffee in real mugs--it makes all the difference and gives that "home away from home" feeling. The staff was super friendly, and my latte was perfectly crafted--smooth, rich, and beautifully presented. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this café is a must-visit for your Cincinnati adventure. I'll definitely be back next time!

I decided on the Purple Haze and chai muffin because they both caught my eye at the front counter. The Barista was kind and mindful, asking me for the correct spelling of my name as he took my order (bonus points for that). It wasn't a long wait for my order because I don't believe the regular morning crowd had arrived just yet. As I left and took that first sip...mmm mmm, I was blown away. Now I know some will say it's just coffee, but I will argue and say it's more than that. None of the ingredients were overpowering each other, and the taste of coffee itself wasn't overly present. It was just what I needed that morning. After I reached my office, before I dove into that heavenly muffin, I snapped a picture (sorry the drink was just too good). I enjoyed the chai in the muffin and am glad that small bites have been added to the menu to pair with the drinks. Black Coffee will be on my list to try other things on the menu as I start my new morning routine this summer walking to the office. I don't know if I'll be able to break away from that Purple Haze though

The parking was a little difficult as the area was really busy, but I found a spot in the nearby parking garage - it was about $5 or so for 2-ish hours. Super exciting to have my first experience with Yemeni coffee! Super welcoming employees greeted me. Great vibes, nice decor, ample lighting inside. I chose a 16 oz mofawer and baklava - let me tell you - I am in love with that coffee!!!!! And the baklava was served with a scoop of ice cream and perfectly drizzled with pistachio sauce. Heaven. I tried ordering the Jubani coffee today, but they were unfortunately out so I got the Mofawer instead. It was delicious, albeit incredibly hot!!! I've had their very popular iced pistachio latte, which is on the sweeter side but has a strong pistachio flavor which I love, and their hot Adeni chai as well. Somehow, I still have yet to try their pastries and sweets! There is some free street parking along Charlton St E and some minimal outdoor seating in addition to a spacious interior. This is a great place to catch up with a friend, or get some work done, with very reasonably priced Yemeni-style coffee!

The staff was super friendly and did a fantastic job navigating the loud environment (we came at a busy time) and explaining the menu. We were excited for the seasonal menu and I tried the Strawberry Matcha. My husband tried the Americola. Both delicious! The matcha is high quality and not watered down with milk. You can tell they are making traditional and crafted drinks at Locke! One downside is their one size is pretty small, but the drinks are "typically" priced. You're paying for the quality of the drink, but my seasonal drink at $8 was pretty comparable to a seasonal drink at other local craft coffee shops that would typically come in a 12oz to-go cup and I believe their cups are 8oz? I did see a comment from the owner that they offer a 12oz iced latte so maybe I missed that. But you'll notice everything is smaller than usual if you're looking for a larger option. Again, happy to pay a bit more for a great drink! Just part of the deal. Speaking of paying, they are currently not taking cash. I had planned to use cash so was bummed but no biggie. All comes from the same place! Would love in the future if this eventually changed, though! Im just in the habit of using my odd loose bills to fund my coffee habit :) but if it makes it easier for the team to do card only I understand. The team did a wonderful job preserving the beauty of the old bank features and designing a new community space inside. A few design "kinks" include there is no accessible entrance that we saw (normal size stair, but a little hard for getting a stroller inside- probably not our best idea to bring a stroller anyway!). And second, we visited on a Sunday morning so it was busy (yay!) and it was a little unclear where the line should be, it ended up snaking backward but we blocked the entrance of new folks coming in to join at times. I am certain they will work that out with time and it's much different when it's a slower time at the shop! We will definitely be back! I already want to try their fall seasonal drinks when it's time... Newport is just a lovely area to walk around and this is a great location. You have to pay for parking (even on Sundays) but we make an outing of it and it's very worth it. I would love to update my review to 5 stars at my next visit and look forward to seeing all the wonderful things in store for Locke Coffee! So glad you are in the neighborhood!
