Terrible experience brought on by the older woman at the register. I went to the front register where the only person was standing. She yelled that it was closed, and said to walk to the side register where no one was. I stood there for 5 minutes in silence while she stood at the register that was closed. The worst and dirtiest location I have ever been to. Fruit flies swarming the drink station, customers cleaning their own tables to seat their children while staff stand around discussing their weekend plans. They messed up my order and I get rudeness and dirty looks at my request for them to correct it. The entire staff should be terminated in addition the the management for allowing and possibly enabling this type is work environment. If the drink station was swarming with flies, what does the food prep area look like?! I will never return to this location. read more

This is the slowest Panera on the planet. I just watched the person cutting my bagel for my sandwich and he is so busy talking it took two minutes. I started to time him. He's still making the sandwich (simple tuna) as I write this. It took 20 minutes to complete my order of 2 pick 2s and there was no one in front of me and they were cold sandwiches. Service is terrible each time I come in which makes me question why I go there. It starts with the manager who stepped up to take my order when her cellphone rang and she left to answer it without even a word to me. The other cashier did help me but her cellphone continued to ring as well. Every time I'm here this happens which is so sad because I like the menu. Wow, what a change in this place...and not in a good way. It's been around for years and used to be well run and the food was always good. However, recently this is not the case. I frequently order their "rapid pickup" for our corporate executives' lunch and for meetings and I can count on one hand the number of times the order has been correct. Pick-up is never on time, and god help you if you ask the staff about it - unfriendly and unhelpful. They actually seem like you're really putting them out if you ask for them to correct an order. If my bosses didn't keep wanting to order from here, there is absolutely no way I would ever go back. **Update: was contacted by the store manager who is aware of the issues and is working to correct the problems. It's not a secret this place needs a lot of work. He also mailed me several coupons for a free "pick two". I felt that he really listened to my concerns and is working to improve the situation. I wonder aloud why I continue to patronize this chain. In my mind, the portion size is not at all in line with the high prices. Case in point, I ordered 2 "bowls" of soup to go. For my $12 and change, I would have expected a lunch size helping of Chicken Noodle and Broccoli Cheddar for my wife and me. The serving size was woefully small. I am still not sure they didn't give me a "cup" rather than a "bowl". The Chicken Noodle was short on noodles and nearly missing the chicken. Basically a serving of tasty broth. I ordered a four cheese egg soufflé on the app at 10:12 and received a text at 10:17 that it was ready. When I went inside, it was not on the mobile order shelf, and the staff didn't seem to know anything about it. The girl at the bakery counter was incompetent, and it turned out she had rolls of mobile order tickets sitting on the counter that she had not filled and did not know she was supposed to fill. By the time I got food at 10:35 - 20 minutes after placing the order - the item I ordered had sold out, and I took what was left. I do want to recognize that there was one girl who helped me who was nice and knew what she was doing, but they saddled her with the dead weight at the front counter. To me, Panera is all about convenience and choices. Do I want a bagel at 2PM? Sure. Maybe a turkey, bacon, avocado club? Of course. How about a salad? Yes, lots of those to chose from. Okay let's be real - I almost always get the Mac and Cheese. This location seems to have gotten a bad rep on Yelp. This is the closest location to where I work so I tend to frequent this Panera. It seems the employees really enjoy their work and that makes the experience more exciting as a customer. In general, this location seems clean, and I've never had to wait long for my food. I prefer ordering from the MyPanera app and picking up, simply because I find it easier to pick out what I'd like on my phone without the pressure to order quickly at the counter (Almost too many options... I can't be the only one, right?) Again, it's about convenience and of course consistency. read more

Worst and most disgusting experience I have had at a Panera or restaurant in a very long time. Happend just yesterday at lunch. Never mind my to go orders not coming up and ultimately being completely wrong, but the smoothy I ordered being made right in front of me by an employee wearing no gloves and right next to the red sanitation bucket he just put down is over the top. When I called them out on each thing and finally told them forget it because I was so disgusted and I want my money back, the cashier told me she needed to get the manager. The manager was another fine example of this place. After a very weak and less than caring sorry, he asked again that I wanted my money back. Hell yes I do!! And that's all that was offered. Someone is going to get sick here, especially reading the other reviews on this place...sadly, I am not the first with an experience like this. I will definitely be contacting their corporate too. In the last three days, I've had 75% of my sandwiches made incorrectly at Panera, and though they aren't all at this location, this is the latest one--and I had to return it once already, and later, I'll be returning it again. My order isn't complicated: a cheese sandwich with everything. It's basically a regular sandwich with no meat. Not complicated. Except it's regularly wrong. Today, I went to the Panera on Montgomery Rd. near Kenwood Mall. This time, I checked the sandwich at the counter. Plain cheese with nothing else. And toasted. So, I told them it was wrong and said in a joking way, "I check because it's usually wrong." I'm sure that sounded obnoxious, but it has been wrong almost every time for YEARS (and yes, I write them, and yes, they write back, and they promise they'll do something--I have the emails to prove it). I only keep going back because once it's right, it's good. And the chai is excellent. Anyway, the guy didn't seem to understand when the other guy said "with everything, like a regular sandwich but with no meat." They listed the things in "everything" twice to one another. And still the guy making my sandwich missed mayo and mustard, which I added to his list and reiterated lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. So, then he made my sandwich. And I saw the lettuce poking out when I looked in the bag. I knew it wasn't toasted. I went home. There are no onions on my sandwich. Frankly, I like the mustard and the onions best on a sandwich. And I know all three of the usual (lettuce, tomatoes, onions) were in all of our lists of "everything." But there are no onions on the sandwich. And so, this sandwich is worthless to me. I'd eat it if I was desperate, but it's not what I paid for. And I'm going to take it back and get ANOTHER replacement--two wasted sandwiches and hopefully one correct one. I don't like waste. But I want onions on my sandwich, or it doesn't interest me. So, I rate all Paneras (except the one in West Chester where they have always double-checked with me to make sure it's right--without me indicating that it has ever been wrong) a one star. They'd get a four, perhaps for their sandwiches and their chai. Maybe even a five. And the shortbread cookies? A five. But for my wasted time and sometimes my hunger? A negative 5, or on the Yelp scale, a one. read more

Unfortunately, there was a power outage at Blue Ash chili. We decided to go with Panera because I love the Brentwood location. This location is the polar opposite. I couldn't understand our cashier. I thought it might be due to my age, but when my teenage granddaughter called him a "mushmouth" I figured I wasn't mistaken. Should have left then ~~ I ordered the broccoli soup. Worst customer service! I walked in around 11:10 for lunch. Apparently they weren't ready to serve lunch yet, because I was refused service at the lunch register by two people, and told to wait in line at the bakery. there were about ten people in line already. With only one out of three registers open, I decided to leave. Evidently, they don't want my business. Every other restaurant is ready to take my order at 11:00. This is a disgrace to Panera Bread. This was a big splurge for our whole family. We chose Panera because we love them. This experience almost made me hate them. They had one register open with 6-7 people standing around watching the one person forget half our order. Then we got to have the joy of listening the servers hit on each other while ignoring us and joking about what they would do to other customers food. My husband and I came to Panera's for a quick bite before an evening class. The customer service was very poor. The cashiers took our order, and did not ask about our side items. In general the attitude was curt and unfriendly. I ordered a dozen cookies to take to class, and only got 11 ( I guess that's a reverse baker's dozen. My husband's Fuji apple salad was good. The broccoli cheese soup was good as well. I had the chicken noodle soup, and it tasted fine, but wasn't as warm as I would like. We like Psnera's, but will probably go to another location. read more

My wife received beyond awful service here. After ordering takeout for a group of 4 friends, she realized they had made over half the order wrong. When she called, the woman on the phone was incredibly rude and snippy, seemingly annoyed to have to speak with my wife. Amazingly, when my wife asked to speak with a manager, she was told "she's busy" and was hung up on! After repeat phone calls, she was finally able to get ahold of a manager who offered to remake the meal. We declined, as it was inconvenient to drive back, and accepted a gift card instead.
