The most inconsistent tea place in my neighborhood, every time I go there's a chance it's going to be bad. Last 4 times, my tea was made incorrectly. They barely put any simple syrup, and it never tastes or looks the way it should. The kids working there definitely don't want to be there. Not sure who to bring this issue up with, I hope someone can show them again how each drink is made. I even asked cor 120% sugar lol and when I tasted it it had 0%. I did 120% because last time I did 100% and it tasted like 50%. I thought hmm maybe if I do 120% it would taste like 100%. Anyways I'm just venting because now I'm drinking coffee at 12am instead of drinking my mango green tea. A good go to spot to get a quick fix for boba cravings! I always order my oolong bubble milk tea here and they never miss here with creating a good drink! I appreciate that when I ask for less sugar the drink actually tastes less sweet. I've been to other locations where I ask for less sugar but the drink still tastes as if they added a ton of sugar. I often like to order via the KFT app as you can accumulate points for free drinks, toppings, or other items! You also can skip the line and there's no minimum for a credit card transaction whereas I believe in store you have to spend a minimum amount. I love KFT and the service here is great. The girls here take my orders so quickly and they get the drinks done within 5 minutes. My favorite is the strawberry lemonade with nata jelly. Sometimes I get other drinks when they have specials but that's my go to drink. They have the option to scan your code to get points for possible future drinks. Ordering never takes more than 2 minutes if you know what you want. I recently revisited this location in my neighborhood and was shocked to find that the drinks here are $2-3 less than what you pay in Manhattan. I rarely have boba so I usually go for unique drinks when I order. This location is tiny, but they have an organized system where you pay inside, then head outside until your number is announced through a megaphone. Probably a little annoying for people living on that block but very helpful for social distancing. That day, I ordered a rose hip milk tea with boba. The price was around $4 for a medium. I caught a hint of tea flavor in my drink but actually didn't like the rose hip in it. It tasted very artificial. I think I just chose the wrong flavor because I've had other drinks here (regular milk tea with boba, milk foam cheese drink, red WOW milk) and liked them all. My all time favorite is the passion fruit green tea with tapioca less sugar, less ice. There is a variety of toppings that you can put into your drink. Also you are able to control the amount of sugar and ice you want in it. The other great things you can get here are macaroons and they are amazing! I have never tasted a macaroon as good as these. It's a bit shady enough to want to nickel and dime for a bag, but to point to the NYS plastic bag ban sign on the wall as the reason is a bit sketchy since it doesn't apply here for 2 reasons - 1) restaurants and similar food service establishments are exempt from the ban and 2) the NYS law only allows for charging 5 cents on PAPER bags. Other Kung Fu Tea stores across Queens, Brooklyn, Long Island don't charge (although I think Mott St was before the pandemic). This left a bad taste in the mouth (pun intended) especially given the order for 6 drinks. Options for bubble tea are pretty limited in the area - you only have Kung Fu Tea, Vivi and Gong Cha which is a decent walk away from the other two. I think KFT is decent in this location. The workers are highly receptive to your preference in regards to ice and sugar level. The actual store itself is small, but they do have a good system in regards to social distancing. When you order and get your receipt, you wait outside of the store and your number is called in from the speakers in which you then go inside to receive your drink. With the KFT app now, you can also use it to get some deals and cheaper boba. I would recommend the rosehip milk tea, oolong milk tea and red wow milk. They also offer discounts very frequently on the mobile app. I love how their bubbles have their own taste (I heard that they're soaked in brown sugar) and don't taste like plastic. I usually get the Passionfruit green tea with coconut jelly with 30% sugar level and light ice. This time I decided to try something new, the Lychee Punch with coconut jelly. I couldn't get a lower sugar level for this because a syrup was used for it. There was lychee bits at the bottom with the coconut jelly. Nothing special. It was $3.50 for the drink itself and $.50 extra for tapioca or jelly, so it came out to be $4.00 I know they have kitchen snacks they sell to compete with Vivi's and I've tried their popcorn chicken, I personally don't think it's as good as the popcorn chicken from Vivi's.
