I have a ton of KUIU gear that I have purchased from them directly and some through other vendors, ebay, etc. I purchased a $600.00+ Kutana jacket for an Arctic Circle hunt per my outfitter's recommendation however, when the time came to leave for Nunavut...the temps in the region were unusually high so I didn't pack the jacket. It was unnecessary. At this point I had not even removed it from the package it arrived in. After my trip...while unpacking my gear, I tried the jacket on and found it to be much larger than expected. I should have purchased an XL instead of an XXL (I upsized to offset insulative layering beneath it) and when I attempted to exchange it for an XL, I was told their policy for this was time-limited and they were unwilling to make this exchange. This is why I and many others prefer Sitka Gear to KUIU...they never bum you out like this. I even wrote the following to KUIU when requesting the exchange: "Can I exchange it for an XL? When you see it you'll know it's only been worn inside for a minute. Happy to return it for inspection before you agree to anything. Sorry, I'm an idiot. But it is a very nice jacket and a helluva lot lighter than my HH arctic jacket...by a lot! Thank you for your consideration of my request." I felt it reasonable for them to at least look at it and consider my request but their response was: "Thank you for reaching out to us, and patience as we have been working through some higher-than-average numbers. Unfortunately, the order does not meet our returns guidelines because it is outside of our return policy timeframe and is no longer eligible for a return or exchange. For future reference, you can view our Return Policy here. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please feel free to let us know if there is anything else we can help you with." Well apologies are about as useful as a bow without arrows and while KUIU's policies may make financial sense to them...in reality it costs them repeat customers, goodwill and future revenues in the long term. I own four businesses and know it's important to do right by your customers so they continue to purchase and refer the company to others. I had previously read negative KUIU reviews addressing this issue and read about it in posts on hunting sites and now I know it's fact. I actually hate KUIU now and will never purchase from them again...they don't take care of their customers. Their loss is Sitka's gain. KUIU customer service sets the consumer care bar so low...you can't find it with a shovel. The simple exchange of an unworn jacket in a smaller size (which would not hurt them financially) would have prevented this review and my distain for KUIU. This experience reminded me of a famous quote by noted author/lecturer/educator Brian Tracy: "The ability to discipline yourself to delay gratification in the short term in order to enjoy greater rewards in the long term, is the indispensable prerequisite for success." KUIU management should read his books on the psychology of sales & marketing. KUIU is rated F by the Better Business Bureau.

Warranty email

My wife purchased a Katana jacket for me as a gift. The jacket is extremely uncomfortable and pulls at my beard hair which gets trapped in the external material that was used inside the collar. I reached out to customer service by phone. I was told to file a warranty claim from their team. I reached out to explain this material should not have been used inside the jacket and offered to pay the difference for a different jacket. I was told it was not a warranty issue because it was a cosmetic issue. Clearly Kuiu doesn't stand behind what they sell. I have read similar reviews regarding poor customer service and design. This will be the last item I ever purchase from Kuiu. I recommend others steer clear for all the above reasons. I have attached emails of their contrived response so that you can see for yourselves. I think the owner would be ashamed of this resolution considering the company was founded on product testing and supposedly better design.

Drove from home to Dixon which was an hour and a half. Looked bigger outside than inside but this is where I order my gear and I wanted to return something. Easy return and was helped but the lady who worked there was more customer centric and helpful than the other guy who has already been mentioned in reviews. I get it, it is not a life job so I won't hit the store on that. I knew what I wanted so it was nice to get some help regardless, considering I dropped $1k in clothing and gear. Selection was nice but some sizes were out which means demand is good for their quality items. I got a discount on a few items so I was happy. Didn't realize I double bought two items online and from the store, so will need to head back but there is so much I can buy it won't be a problem or I just keep them since the clothing is so nice and warm for my winter and hunting needs. I bought a backpack the Divide 2000 and it was nice to see it in real life for my hunting needs - definitely a good pickup. I also bought another Guide Jacket in Verde (all my stuff is solid or Vias print). I like KUIU and my experience at their store was good and exceeded my expectations. I spent a nice amount but their clothing and gear is so worth it. Worth a visit if you are into hunting, outdoors or just quality clothing and gear.

Love all the Kuiu clothing. It's really lightweight, durable, and last a long time. I bought quite a bit clothing for fall, and winter for northern California for waterfowl hunting. I just bought the Kutana stretch woven pants for hot weather hiking and their strong fleece 260 hybrid for a midlayer. Hands down the best outdoor clothing store.

He is incredibly knowledgeable about tuna fishing, does an outstanding job lining reels, and has always treated us with professionalism and respect. He's the reason we've continued to shop there.Unfortunately, our experience with Eric, the manager, has been the complete opposite. My husband stopped in while he was tired and quiet, yet Eric later commented that he came in "crazy," even though my husband hadn't said a word to anyone. That was both unnecessary and disrespectful. This also wasn't our first negative interaction with Eric. On a previous visit while Dave was lining our reels, Eric repeatedly interrupted to tell Dave to make sure we knew we had to pay for the special line marking. We never questioned the charge and had absolutely no problem paying for it. We appreciate Dave's expertise and know quality work deserves to be paid for. When my husband simply said, "It's okay, Dave takes care of me," referring to the excellent service Dave provides, Eric immediately responded, "We all take care of you." The interaction came across as defensive and left us feeling unwelcome. It's unfortunate because Dave is one of the best resources for tuna fishing and reel setup, but management makes the overall experience unpleasant. We'll be taking our business elsewhere, and that's a shame because we genuinely enjoyed working with Dave.

The reason I'm giving this 3 stars is because the people working here are efficient both for the PPT process and later pickup and I normally want to support local FFL. However they did miss the fact that I'm exempt on the 3-in-30 even though I gave my ffl03+COE first thing when I started the PPT. They didn't select the correct option on the form (and they didn't give me a copy of the pending form when I started the PPT so I couldn't check the option). So what's the overcharge? By law they are only allowed to charge $37.17 for DROS and $10 for each firearm. They charged exactly $52.99 + $10 which is about $15.82 extra. I understand it's extra work for dealers but then it's not allowed. Otherwise they are located in the middle of a street with a standalone building with a fenced off parking lot. The place is big and bright. The people are not super friendly but gets the job done. There are some new guns and some used guns but I didn't pay too much attention after noticing the extra fee. They might have more selections in the back.

I will definitely be watching their sales to get some good deals on merchandise. Good service here.

This review is about the sales staff and lack of communications at Camping World Vacaville…read more Have driven 150 miles r/t to pick up our used RV three times and it's still not ready. They have a serious internal communication problem. Purchased 5/5/26. Appt was set for 5/9 9am to pick it up. Arrived to find they were still waiting for parts. Set another appt for 5/18. On 5/17 we asked our salesman if it was ready but were told they wouldn't be able to check until service dept opened the same time we were scheduled to pick it up, but he believed it would be ready. He texted us as we arrived that it was not ready. Made another appt for 5/26. Salesman told us 5/25 he had personally verified it was ready to go. On walkthrough we came up with 10 items still not finished (from the windshield not being replaced to the rig not having enough diesel for us to verify the generator was working). We had paid for the extra detailing and the rig was still dirty. So we've driven 450 miles, spent 8 hours on the road, $170+ on gas, and 7+ hours at Camping World and still don't have the RV we paid for. Oh, and the warrantee & Good Sam membership is ticking down because all that starts on the day you make the purchase. If they manage to make this right I will update this review. UPDATE: We were able to pick up the RV on the 4th try. The new mattress (standard on all RVs purchased from CW) was the wrong one. Salesman told us we needed to jerry-rig it ourselves to make it fit. We pushed back and were directed to the service desk. They instantly saw the problem and ordered the correct mattress (still waiting on it). The general manager offered us $200 max in compensation for the issues picking up the RV. 45 min later he said upper management said to make that $700. That feels like a good amount for the money & time we wasted so we accepted. Last issue: The flat tow package we had agreed on (to be installed on our car) was switched to a tow dolly without talking to us. It's huge, doesn't store vertically, and doesn't fit in our garage. We were shell-shocked and stupidly left with the item, so I doubt there is any chance they'll ever fix it.

We bought a used 2021 Jayco Bungalow from Camping World of Vacaville as our full-time home. Here is how that went. Before we put money down, we asked for an inspection report. Their written answer: there are no inspection reports or repair orders on the unit, but once you buy it, it will be inspected and repaired. So we were asked to pay first and find out later. We paid a $3,000 deposit on their word. They ran credit on both of us, declined us citing my recent move between states, and never explained why my co-buyer with clean credit was declined. We asked in writing. No answer. We told them for weeks that funds would be ready September 16 for a September 21 pickup. The wire instructions and balance due arrived at 5:16 PM on Friday, September 18, after banks closed. When I asked why so late, the sales manager told me it was my job to call and ask for them. We had to cancel our transport. We wired $26,715.01 on September 21. Our receipt arrived a week later. The trailer was not released until October 1 because they were waiting on a slide-out part. So much for "inspected before you buy." What they delivered: an active water leak pooling under the kitchen, two air conditioners that run nonstop and don't cool, a bathroom exhaust fan that doesn't work, a broken fireplace (they wrote a "We Owe" and promised to mail a replacement; still waiting), missing vertical blinds, and a barstool with a broken leg. Every one of these would be caught by the "safety inspection and system testing" their ClearPrice sheet says is included in the price. We have asked three times for the PDI checklist. They cannot or will not produce one. They also sold us $10,735 in protection products. The extended service plan excludes anything that existed before purchase, so it wouldn't cover a single defect they delivered. We canceled four of them in writing within the refund window. The general manager says the $1,995 "Diamond Ceramic" coating can't be canceled because it can't be removed from the trailer. We asked for proof it was ever applied. Silence. Corporate opened a case on September 4. A regional customer service manager called September 21 and said she'd follow up. She never did. I have sent three detailed written escalations. The last response from anyone at Camping World was October 8. Eighteen days of nothing while we live in a trailer that leaks. Everyone was friendly on the phone. Nobody put anything in writing, nobody followed through, and nobody owned a single mistake. If you buy here, do not pay a dime until you hold a signed inspection report in your hand, and don't believe anything you can't get in an email.
